Password dialogue box appears
The password dialogue box appears a moderate number of times when trying to send to Pop account from within Apple Mail application, even though the password is entered/stored into the account area.
What would cause this to happen?
iMac 1.9 GHz PowerPC G5 1.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM Mac OS X (10.4.6) Slot Loading 8X Dual Layer SuperDrive, iSight & Apple Remote; iPod Video
The SMTP server for this email account is authenticated?
If so and the user name and password used for the SMTP authentication is the same user name and password used to check the account's incoming mail server for new messages, any problems when checking the account for new mail?
It can or usually does matter if the account and SMTP server is provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet or by an email account provider not associated with your ISP.

Bought Premier Elements 13 yesterday. EVERY time I try to open a set of clips with Editor, I am told I have to sign into my Adobe first. I do this and wait for several minutes for the password dialogue box to open, enter my password. then wait and wait until my pw is recognized. Accept agreement. Agreement screen disappears and I'm back where I started. Try to open video clips with editor again and get the same demand to log in. Please advise asap. thx

Please do not duplicate a thread. The threads are answered as soon as possible. We are not Adobe. Just user to user.
I have answered your most recent of the duplicates
Premier Elements 13 Organizer Works. Editor doesn't. Log in doesn't work
It is uncertain just how far we can go to help you since you do not appear to have Premiere Elements any
longer.Seems you demanded a refund from Adobe Chat, got it, and now are left with a non purchased program which I
am not sure can be used.
Duplicates tend to confuse the person asking the question as well as those attempting to reply. As I suggested in the
above mentioned thread, try to sort out your situation with Adobe via its Adobe Chat.

Insert blank DVD, no dialogue box appears
When I insert a blank CD or DVD the drive spins up but no dialogue box appears. Changing the answers in the CD & DVD window in prefernces has no effect. No matter which option is choosen, no dialogue box appears. No disk image appears. This is only a problem with the finder. iDVD recognizes and burns DVDs. The same DVD's work fine in another iMac running OS X 10.6.8 so the disk are ok.
I am using a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 with 8 GB of RAM. 21.5 inch iMac running OS X 10.9.2.Hey AeroCat, I'll be honest, I'm not quite sure what you're looking for. When you say dialogue box, are you looking for something to actually open and launch on your screen, or are you missing a way to browse to it? You say that it's only a problem in Finder, does that mean that you're not getting an option on your sidebar?
Given the limited info I have, I would do the following if it was an issue with the disk not appearing in Finder/on the desktop:
Restart the system
Open Finder, click preferences, if you want an icon to appear on your desktop, under the general tab, make sure "CDs, DVDs, and iPods" is checked. Now, click on the "Sidebar" tab. Under the "Devices" section, make sure that "CDs, DVDs, and iPods" has a check mark.
If it's not launching something:
It's possible the disk you're using doesn't have an autorun. Most data disks won't auto-launch anything but instead, work like a flashdrive. -

Why do i get a dialogue box appear before Firefox 4 will load?
When i turn on firefox 4 I get a dialogue box appear which says, Java Script Application. Type error:Components.classes [cid] is undefined. Ideas please
Probably caused by an incompatible extension.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?<br/> ''A troubleshooting mode.''<br />
1.You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. <br />
2. Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut to open it again.''

Save Password Dialogue Box Not Displaying
I am seeing behavior that suggests that the dialogue box for saving passwords is invisible:
* I can frequently see the outline of a box where the dialogue box would be
* On a couple of occassions, the dialogue box would appear for a few seconds before disappearing - I was once even able to save it
* On sites where I enter a password, hyperlinks are not recognized in the area where the save password dialogue would normally appear - it's as if the window is there but not visible.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled.
Private Browsing is Off. Save passwords is checked.Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Is it possible to control/save where a dialogue box appears on screen?
I'm using a Mac, OS 10.9, Acrobat 10.1.8, dual monitors (laptop screen and an external monitor)
I have to do a lot of scanning to PDF and then separating and creating carefully named files. So I open the doc, select the pages, export them out and do a Save As - is there a way to position and lock this Save As dialogue box?
It always appears in the center of the screen - which happens to be where the document has the info that I need to name this new file. So I have to move the Save As box and then type the file name. I want to skip needing to use the mouse and moving this.
Seemed like on the PC when I was doing this same thing, I could "train" the dialogue box to appear on the opposite screen. Or it would appear in the same place that I'd closed it before (off to the side somewhere).
Opposite screen, stuck to the top of the same screen - some place other than where it's appearing right now. Anyone know if this is an option? Either within Acrobat or within the OS itself?
Thanks much!Ben,
Yes, it is easily possible. I have personally used Matrix Orbital serial LCD displays and QSI serial LCD displays. QSI also offers touch screen modules (I experimented with one very briefly). For information on a QSI Display with touchpad, see the following link:

QSI (www.qsicorp.com) also offers other types of displays that have been successfully used with FP-RT controllers. There should be other LabVIEW drivers available from their web site for some of their other displays.

"Characters" empty dialogue box appears intermittently
Last week I upgraded to Leopard 10.5.1 but all of a sudden (yesterday), a rectangular shaped box with the words "Characters" in the title bar appears anytime (regardless of the application I'm working in) I simply click anywhere on the screen. Worth mentioning is that this rectangular "dialogue" (I'm not sure if that's what its called) box appears for 2 seconds and then disappears until the next time I click. Finally, I think this whole mess may have started when I selected "Characters" from one of the menus in "Stickies." By the way, the only thing appearing inside this box when it pops up is one of those spinning things that indicates when something is being processed (looks like hands on a clock). Please help! I can't stand having this thing pop up in my face every 5 seconds!
Eyeteach,
I am having the same problem. Similar to you, the problem started when I selected "Special Characters" under Edit in itunes. A "Characters" box pops up every 5-10 seconds in the same position on the screen and then spontaneously disappears. I agree this very annoying. I've tried restarting the computer with no success. I have not seen any correlation with the Leopard 10.5.1 upgrade and this problem. I upgrade Leopard quite some time ago and problem started today. -
I believe I'm using the latest Firefox. I download it whenever you tell me it's available. I have Windows Vista. This box appears in the desktop area (which MSN seems to have redesigned from the way I had it). This seems like a boarder which hops on to my computer after I do a search on Yahoo, but I don't really know where it comes from, what it is, or what it's doing.
One time you showed me a box which let me get rid of cookies. I don't know how to call that box back, but I'd like toetresoft a long time contributer to Apple Support Communities wrote a very useful app he called etrecheck which helps in diagnosing many problems caused by third party installs etc.. Flashing dialogue box appears after startup
Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro 2.3GHz i5 4GB and I've noticed recently after startup that a quick dialogue box flashes on screen but I am unable to read or determine if there is something wrong. All that I am able to see is a yellow triangle but am unable to read the text. Can anyone please help explain how I can fix this issue?tenorsax wrote:
I'm experience the same problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
Describe the boot sequence in detail and when you see this occur, then what happens afterwards.
I faintly recall something of this nature occuring here before, need my memory jogged a bit so I can find hte keyword to search for it. -
How do I get the dialogue to re-appear when I open Safari?
1Kaminsky --
Have you recently upated the OS on your iMac?
If so, what OS did you start from, and which one are you one now?
Which version of Safari are you on now?
Or has your URL bar at the top disappeared altogether? -
Need password dialogue box back.
In iPhoto I'm locked out from sending photos in an email. Only one opportunity to type in password correctly. Anyone know how to get the password box back? Thanks
You shouldn't need to enter a password each time. Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane, delete the email account, close and open iPhoto and add the account back.
A better option IMO is to set Mail as the email client in iPhoto's General preference pane.

I tried to open Add ons from the Tools tab on the main menu. I end up with a script error which appears repeatedly no matter whether I "continue" or "stop script" button.
When I click error console I end up with numerous lines of errors and warnings.
Should I uninstall and re-install to fix this problem? Thanks for the response. The response you provided appears to only indicate what the cause is. It doesn't help me fix it.
I ended up having to uninstall it, except I had to remove all my personal details stuff too, because having tried to re-install with my preferences on the system just continued the problem. It was a bummer because I lost all my bookmarks.
In fact I'm noticing Mozilla is becoming dysfunctional on all my computers and it's annoying when it crashes as only task manager can close it down. All these problems appeared out of no where in the last few weeks.
Anyway I've had enough. I'm too busy to try and make sense of all the stuff on the help pages. I'm uninstalling for good this time.
Asta la vista.
I've given up on it and bid Mozilla farewell. -
My e-mail client is MSOffice Outlook 2003. Until recently I never had any trouble opening a browser window by clicking on the hyperlink within an e-mail message. I contacted MS and was informed that they can only help if I want to use MS IE as my browser. They told me that the problem isn't within Outlook but is instead a configuration problem with Firefox. I can only think that a recent auto-update to Firefox did something unwanted that is causing the problem. Your help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
