Password for exchange refused
I have carried a clean install of Lion - Have tired to set up my MS exchange account in Lion mail all goes well email address and accepted and server found. However the password box keeps appearing saying incorrect password.
I have changed the password and am entering the correct password but its still not being accepted.
Any advice/help please

Same problem with my work mail! and it starts right after I installed the Lion.
I Already have deleted and setup a new (same) account but still box with this "The POP server “pop.****.ru” rejected the password for user “******”. Enter your password again or cancel."

Hi iPhone friends,
I still have my 3GS phone. It now says "Password Incorrect Enter the password for the Exchange account" Now I can't get gmail/email with my iPhone.

my ipad 2 keeps asking me for my exchange account "exchange" passwork? I have no idea what this is or where to find it?
What email service, if any do you use? Typically in an enterprise environment, Exchange would be the mail system, and your mail account would have a password associated with it.

my 'friend' was using my Ipod touch and when I came to switch it on and enter my passcode it comes up with 'Password Incorrect. Enter the password for exchange account "Hotmail" I think the the hotmail account is my 'friends'...............ANYONE HELP???
same here im trying to get my password back and to put my email again so i can see my mail of from ipad mail but then when i all that stuff happened i deleted it to see if i coud do it again and it said it was incorrect or it is unvalid something like that .....help please!!!!!

Exchange on Local LAN prompting password for IOS devices and not accepting

I have users that have Exchange email account setup on their iPad/iphone(ios5,6,8) (Wi-Fi only) and it works fine when they are away from the company. When they are connected to the companies Wi-Fi and is on the same
local subnet as the Exchange server they can't connect to the server. They receive this error "Password is not correct. Enter a password for Exchange account" We tried to enter the password multiple times in multiple devices but doesn`t accept. Does
anybody have any ideas?

Exchange email can no longer send since password on exchange was changed
I have an iPhone 4 that I could not initially get to send emails with exchange! Not sure why but it just started working and has been working ever since. It started working once the domain value was left empty but, although initially it couldn't login to exchange without! Something changed and it just started working and has been ever since.
Today was forced to change my login password for exchange and the network and updated the password in the iphone but now I'm back to receiving the "an error occurred while delivering this message" or if I empty the value from the Domain field I receive password prompts again. I'm now back to the problem I originally had any nothing changed except the password.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this as I receive email via push with no problem. It just will not send any emails. My iPad has exactly the same issue as well. Worked fine until I had to change the passwordAttention Forum Administrator(s) - PLEASE ESCALATE to the development team.

You've uncovered a subtle defect in iOS 4.21. The defect, and workaround are listed below.
Symptom: changing Hotmail/MSN/microsoft based email account password in iOS 4.21 allows INCOMING mail, but OUTGOING mail no longer works.
Defect/root cause: Changes to updated password in "Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> [hotmail account]" to the 'Incoming Mail Server' field ARE NOT PROPAGATED to the 'Outgoing Mail Server' password field.
The issue is compounded because the Mail account setting for 'Incoming Mail Server' password field is discoverable, BUT 'Outgoing Mail Server' password is not discoverable.
Steps to workaround:
1. Choose "Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> [hotmail account]".
2. Change 'Password' field under 'Incoming Mail Server'.
3. Click the link 'smtp.live.com' under 'Outgoing Mail Server / SMTP'.
4. Click the 'Primary Server' link (smtp.live.com) to bring up the 'Server Settings' page.
NOTE: details of the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER are displayed.
5. Click the 'outgoing' "Password" field, and enter the updated password.
RESULT: updates to 'incoming' password are accepted, but 'outgoing' password is not updated to match 'incoming'.
EXPECTED: whenever 'incoming' password is changed, the 'outgoing' password should be changed TO MATCH [via the iOS mail client settings app]

My Ipod touch is stuck in the password screen and I can't turn it off or cancel. The screen that it is stuck at says :enter the password for the exchange account "exchange"
Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do. -
When I go into Mail "Password Incorrect" for exchange account pops up. Never had to put in this password before. How do I get rid of this?
Go to iforgot.apple.com to recover the password for the Apple ID.

When setting up my new mac air, my passwords for ms exchange (office 365) for mail and wdmycloud for time machine are not being accepted.
Any ideas? Thank youI figured it out. There is an option to fetch a high resolution image. When you do this then it downloads the file to the SD card whereas I assumed it would just save it to the cache which I could easily delete. Interesting I will need to consider this "feature" for future reference. I would very much like if viewing a high res image via the browser would just save the photo to the temporary cache....

I get the following message every time I open my contacts on my iphone or iPad : "Password Incorrect. Enter the password for the Exchange account "Exchange"". If I enter my password, it does not accept it. I don't even know what this means.

It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? An Exchange account is an e-mail account serviced my a Microsft Exchange server... Typically a corporate e-mail account. It used to be possible to configure a free gmail account as an Exchange account, but it is no longer possible to set one up that way.
