Password for my appletv

Question

I am trying to set up Apple TV in my classroom, but can't put in my network password (which I usually do online?)  I have full network strength.  Any help out there?

It depends what you want to play.
If you want to show any DRM copy-protected media from iTunes store then an internet connection is essential.
For non-copy protected material streamed from a computer or via Airplay from computer/iphone/ipad you need a simple network at the very least - i.e. LAN connectivity but not necessarily internet access.   This could be an 'ad hoc' wifi network from laptop (maybe iOS device with Personal hotspot function), a direct computer to AppleTV ethernet connection or by using a simple router or mifi type device to create a network separate to the school network.
We usually get the question about internet/network access in relation to similar shared networks requiring web login in hotels, or campus network situations.
I don't really know if it's possible but you might want to speak to the school IT dept about this - they might be able to get some tech info about the AppleTV (MAC address most likely) and enable it to join the network automatically bypassing the usual login requirement.  Alternatively can you bypass wifi and use an ethernet socket?  Agin, they may need to add teh AppleTV to a 'whitelist' of allowed devices.
