Password incorrect error message???

I have repeatedly gotten the error message: The iCloud IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user xxx, when I know my password is correct...Even went so far as to reset my password, which did not help. any suggestions to remedy?
The message pops up all day and is driving me nuts - so is the fact that I am not getting my messages, except at random times - twice all day today they have come through....any ideas as to what the problem is?
I did nothing, just came from nowhere -
So I am pretty confident it is not me/my password, etc...
on both my phone and computer, btw...
though phone seems to be getting more this afternoon...

Yes can access account via googlemail on my Mac laptop
It worked before, never had this happen before.
Have reset password - have actually removed account and gone through process of adding account on to ipod touch again, complete with new password.
It's a google mail account.

  • Baffled - 9300 setting up email - user - password incorrect error message

    I hope someone here can shed some light ofn this because I've spent 3 weeks trying to resolve and I'm still stuck after literaly hours on the phone to the network provider and exploring every possible potential cause.
    About three weeks ago I upgraded my BB from Curve 9300 to 9380.  I copied settings using desktop software and transferred over to my new device.  All apps reinstalled fine and I set five email accounts including 3 (business emails) provided through a hosting account with Media Temple.  These all work fine and still do.
    My old phone was to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and put all setting back to default and followed the process indicated for a new SIM.  When we tried to set up email on the old device (9300) it wouldn't work giving an error message stating unable to verify account contact email provider.  I am the administrator of the email accounts so I know that the settings are correct., the network provider reset all settings for email etc and BIS account details  etc are all correct.  The email account works through outlook and can be accessed via webmail and we've tried password change and even deleted and set a new email account up but still the same problem - error message stating user or password incorrect.
    I hoped that this was a problem with the settings on the old device (9300) which we could pin down and resolve however it seems not to be as now when I try to set up a new email account on my new device (9380) I get the same problem!!  User password error - when the details entered are 100% correct and on a device which I successfully set up the same type of email account !!
     I'm completely stumped and if anyone has or is experiencing a similar problem and has any info on this or has managed to resolve, I'd like to hear from you as I've explored everything I can think of with network and email hosts.

    You need to call your provider to inquire if the 9300 is properly registered on their network and to the SIM card account in the device. They need to confirm the correct BlackBerry Data Plan on that account, it is not uncommon for them to mistakenly not do this or provision the incorrect data plan,.

  • Incorrect Error Message regarding permissions

    I have been getting an incorrect error message upon opening iTunes.  It states this "You don't have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. Change permissions ....".
    Please read carfefully.  I know very well how to change permissions in a folder and I know how to APPLY CHANGES TO ALL FOLDERS within the folder.  I have very carefully checked all the folders and permissions of folders in my iTunes Media Folder.  This message is incorrect as all the folders have write access.  I have reinstalled the latest iTunes application and checked every file within iTunes. 
    At the moment I can't download any of my purchases.  The computer is Authorised and so this is a software error somewhere.
    Can anyone suggest how I fix this?  Again please don't tell me how to change permissions on folders I know this and this is not the problem.

    No answers but suffering the same issue with Lion 10.7.1 and iTunes 10.4.1 on a late 2010 iMac.
    There might be something going on with the store backend, because a few days ago, I was experiencing this issue with podcasts. Now they download. Then apps. Now they download. Now the issue is with movies, music etc. Another strange anomaly occurred this weekend. An episode of a TV show was downloaded, and instead of a folder being created, the episode was downloaded into the top level iTunes media folder.

    Got it thanks macjack . Command + S on restart.
    In this case Nad69-Breizh did you try restarting with the option key down and re-selecting the boot drive.
    If no Recovery option,  try command option R  for internet recovery. Takes some time to load up.

  • I can no longer access a password protected Numbers file with the correct password. Error message only says the file "cannot be opened."

    I'm using Numbers version 3.2.2.
    Suddenly I cannot access my password protected Numbers file with the correct password. I have the correct password written down so I know I haven't made a mistake.
    The response box that pops up says that the file cannot be opened. There are no other options for me to choose from.

    Also, I tried to open it through an older version of Numbers but it sent this error message.

  • Perameter incorrect error message comes up when I try to get photo

    I was using the 3.2 free edition version. It was working WONDERFUL! It is the best program for me. But today, when I went to load my pictures I got this error message "the parameter is incorrect". To get photos I was using a sandisk card reader. I usually just plug the card into the reader and the adobe photoshop album starter 3.2 usually pops up on its own, then I just click get photos. It sooo easy. But today that didn't happen. So I manually opened the program, then went to file, get photo, from reader, and then I see the number of pictures read, but then the error message comes up.
    Anyone know what that message means and how do I fix it?

    Reinstalling the program should not be a problem as this is available online for free download. Just search for "Download Photoshop Album Starter Edition" and you will be lead to appropriate link on the  Adobe site.

    I am having a problem sending email. I can receive emails but not send. The message I am getting is "The SMTP server "mail.grandecom.net" (my provider's server) doesn't support Password authentication. Please check you account settings..."
    I have checked my account settings and tried all of the variables many, many times already. i have called my ISP and confirmed the settings with them. I have 4 different mail clients on my computer and they will all correctly receive and send using the same settings as those on the ipad yet still get them same error message.
    I am using the iPad over wi-fi.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I would delete the problem email account and re-enter the the account. It is easy to make an error in setting up the account but hard to find the error and that is why deleting and reentering it is often better,

  • VISIO 2013 has an incorrect error message displayed

    When I am exporting a SharePoint 2013 Workflow diagram so that I can use it in SharePoint Designer 2013, I am getting the following error message,
    "This doesn't seem to be a SharePoint 2010 Workflow diagram. We can't export the diagram unless it contains SharePoint 2010 Workflow Shapes. Also, we can't export if there are shapes from other workflow versions in diagram".
    I have uninstalled and installed a new version of VISIO 2013 professional today to see if this would solve the problem and it did not.
    I think the problem might be caused by exporting a SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow with either the visual designer view or text based designer into Visio 2013 professional version. I then exported the same workflow back into SharePoint designer. The original
    workflow was created in SharePoint Designer 2013 and not in VISIO pro 2013?
    Thus can you tell me what I can do to solve this problem?

    I think you have either used a Layout template or used Textboxes/Tables to layout your document.
    The T.O.C. will only include material that follows it, as Jerrold has pointed out, and it must be in the main text area between the margins of the document, not in floating objects or inline objects.

    I can tell you that this is really bad situation now. Without right password you will not be able to start clean OS installation using HDD recovery procedure.

    have installed 32 bit passwordsysnc.dll on ad server 2003 R2 connecting to sun IDM 8.1.1 using the direct method.
    It seems to function correctly and password changes are being synced, but each change results in an event log error on the AD server as follows:
    "While processing account gguava, password sync was unable to connect to the servlet to post the synchronization message. Error: ."
    The trace log seems to indicate that the password change event is submitted successfully and then the error occurs. i.e:

    I have 8.1.1 password sync working OK in a test environment, the main difference being the port is a more standard 80 (instead of 7777 in production)
    Has anyone encountered this? How do I fix it? is it important even?

    I had this exact error.
    For future reference:
    Double check the user password and status of the account by loging in the user interface with the account you are using.
    I did a password reset on the waveset service account used by the password sync. When I logged in the user interface with that account, it prompted me to enter a new password. Upon entering a new password and reflecting the change in the Password Sync, synchronisation resumed.

  • Email id or password incorrect error

    This error has been plagueing ipad and iphones. It does not seem to be specific to the carrier. I know auto correction can mess up your input, sometimes garbling passwords and other odd words. I have controlled for that.
    I can no longer use my ipad to get mail because it happens every time. The data is correct so it has to be a flaw in the OS. Thoughts?

    I recently have had an issue with sending emails on my iPad. I have three mail accounts, and the only account I could send from was my ...me.com account. All accounts worked fine for the first couple of months, then the error occurred recently which showed up as a 'password error' in my outgoing email server. Interestingly however my SMTP server did not require a password! My iPhone continued to work fine, using the same accounts. The fault is in the iPad SMTP server port setting. Go to Settings - Mail etc - (account) - SMTP - Primary server - Server port, and reset the port to the same as your iPhone settings.
    For some reason my SMTP server port had randomly changed without my input, causing the fault. This may have coincided with an upgrade to iOS 4 but I can't be sure.

  • I keep getting an incorrect error message in "Table of Contents"

    I have completed a very long document and want to insert a Table of Contents. I have selected <Insert> <Table of Contents>. The styles that I have used have shown up  - they are dark, not grey. I have selected these and in some cases, selected page number. Then when I request a Table of Contents I get the following message - "The Table of Contents is empty because none of the paragraph styles selected are used in the document".
    This is plainly wrong. I have checked, they are used. Pages itself has also indicated that they are used by darkening the type. I have clicked on <Update now> as well but to no effect. I have tried several times over the past months but always to the same effect. How do I ever get a Table of Contents?

    When i go to any of the tabs in "Embedded Web Server" browser. it ask for a password and it will not accept the password. is there anyway to reset the password to default.

    I would suggest to verify that the server response goes back through the ACE module.
    curr conns : 3 , hit count : 5
    dropped conns : 0
    client pkt count : 6 , client byte count: 384
    server pkt count : 0 , server byte count: 0 <===
    As you can see, ACE sees no response from the server itself.
