Password is NULL in OAM access logs

Hi,
Can any one tell what would be causing the below logs in OAM oblog.log
/usr/abuild/Oblix/coreid1014/palantir/aaa_server/src/plugins.cpp:855 "The password is NULL"
Thanks in advance....

Hii,
Can you please provide the scenario you tried?

  • How do i reset admin password. no disc but system automativally logs me in as administrator and can access root user mode

I recenly got this macbook, MA&00LL/A, max OS X, V:10.4.11, 2GHz IntelCore 2 duo, 2GHz, When I power up it automatically logs me on as administrator but prompts for password when I try to access/change certain features.  I got the macbook from my cousin who has forgot password and has lost disc.  I can access root user mode but as iam unfamiliar with apple I am hesitant to delete anything without making things worse. Is their anyway I can reset this admin password without the disc or simply delete this user and reconfigure system as myself as administrator. step by step instructions would be appreciated at this stage till i familiarize myself more.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If it came down to buying a disc, how much roughly do these cost???  thanks again

If you don't have your install disks you can get the 10.4 gray disks by calling Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need.
To find your serial number go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info, the System Profiler will then come up. The Serial Number (System) is down near the bottom of the Hardware Overview list.
If you don't have your install disc handy, then follow these steps
    1. Start up in single-user mode (hold Command-S as thecomputer starts up).
    2. Type: mount -uw /
    3. Press Return.
    4. Type this: passwd (user's short name) Replace "(user's shortname)" with the short name of the user account whose password you wish to reset. If you are not sure what the account name is, you can get a list of usernames by typing: ls /Users
    5. Press Return.
    6. Enter a new user password.
    7. Press Return.
    8. Type: reboot
    9. Press Return.

  • Can I /dev/null my access log while running?

I have a Directory Server 5.2 system running
    on Linux Red Hat.
My access log is huge - 1.7 G in 2 days, using
    default logging.
Can I manage this by copying the access log
    to another directory, then
    cat /dev/null > /sunusr/slapd-xxxx/access
    w/o negative effects ?
If I can , this will save me much grief,

You can cat /dev/null, but you should not need to. You should be able to configure, the size, the rotation time, and the max file system utilization. You can actually have logs that do not exceed 10MB or whatever you want. Go to the configuration/logs tab in the console and set it any way you want.

  • OAM Access Server - Cannot load cert chain file aaa_chain.pem

    Hi experts,
I am in the midst of changing the Transport Layer Security (TLS) of OAM Access Server from Open mode to Cert mode, and encountering the error not able to load aaa_chain.pem.
Below are the steps which I have did:-
    1. Change the TLS mode for both Access Server and Webgate from Open >> Cert mode in the Access System console
    2. Stop the Access Server from Services
    3. From the <access server install dir> run ConfigureAAAServer.exe to generate aaa_req.pem and aaa_key.pem.
    4. Copy the certificate request from the aaa_req.pem and submit to Internal CA (Ms CA).
    5. Download the Certificate and Certificate Chain in Base 64 encoding, and rename into *.pem. E.g. certnew.cer >> aaa_cert.pem certnew.p7b >> aaa_chain.pem.
    6. Copy *.pem files in to <access server install dir>/oblix/config
    7. Rerun ConfigureAAAServer.exe to install the cert, all went smoothly without issue.
    8. Start Access Server from Services. <<< Service failed to start.
NOTE: I did the same thing for Policy Manager, used genCert.exe to generate certificate request, submit the CA to sign and installed.

I followed through the documentation on OAM Identity & Common Admin - Chapter 8 guide.
Is there anything which I have missed or something to do with the certificate.
    Thanks in advance.

No, you didn't do anything wrong, JeanPhilippe. I'm right there with you. There's even another thread on this issue:
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10808126>
I had the same problem: IMAP & POP services would not launch using SSL. Finally got it resolved today. It had nothing to do with certificates and their names, or creating them in openssl, and everything to do with a botched dovecot.conf file, courtesy of Server Admin.
It appears that every time I changed the certificate for IMAP & POP SSL in Server Admin, it appended the new selection to the dovecot.conf file on 3 separate lines. The result was an unhealthy list of every certificate file Server Admin had ever been pointed to for this service.
After making a backup, I edited the file (/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf) down to the single cert file I wanted it to use. It happened to be first in the list, FWIW.
If you want to duplicate this, look for the lines beginning with:
    "sslcertfile"
    "sslkeyfile"
    "sslcafile"
Obviously you need to be careful in there. But I did not even have to bounce the service before it took my changes. Thankfully, Server Admin did not overwrite my edits (which I've seen happen with manual config of other services, such as the iChat service.)
Good luck, and let me know if I can provide more detail.

  • File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:  - error in log file from IE8 and IE9

I just updated an existing slide show that was created several months back. Since loading my new set of files to our web server, we keep getting the following error in our server log files when someone loads our page in IE8 and IE9:
File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:
One of our programmers tracked the error to this line of code, but we're not sure what's causing it:
    Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn('#slideshowu70', function(elem) { new WebPro.Widget.ContentSlideShow(elem, {autoPlay:true,displayInterval:6000,slideLinkStopsSlideShow:false,transitionStyle:'horizo ntal',lightboxEnabled_runtime:false,shuffle:false}); });/* #slideshowu70 */
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

The errors aren't showing up on the client side, only in the server access logs. Every time the page is loaded with IE8 or IE9 and the Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn with the #slideshowu70 line is hit, it generates four errors in the server access logs.
Our admin guy pulled the errors from where it was clicked on from the Adobe forum. He said it also appeared that you tested it with www added to the url (if this was when you were testing it)...
    [Mon Feb 04 13:58:57 2013] [error] [client 121.242.198.2] File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:http://stingrayboats.com/

The reason we find it strange is because it did not result in errors with the previous version of the slideshow. The only thing that changed this time around is that I removed some slides and added additional ones, but I noticed that there is a lot of difference in the code and even the scripts that are used. And I did copy over all of the scripts, css files, etc., so it's using all of the new source files.
I was hoping it was something that you guys had noticed if you review the access logs when you're testing. While it works perfectly on the client side, the IT guys do go through our access logs, so it would be nice to eliminate the errors.
    Thanks for looking at it!

  • Transaction log and access log

The transaction log (TransactionLogFilePrefix) and the access log are stored
relative to the directory where the server is started rather than where it
resides as with the rest of the log files. Why is this?
    Eg.
I start the server with a batch file contained in
    projects\bat
    My server is in
    projects\server\config\myDomain
When I start the server the access and transaction logs end up in
    projects\bat
while all the rest of the log files (such as the domain and server log) end
    up in
    projects\server
My batch file that starts the server looks like this
    "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -hotspot -ms64m -mx64m -classpath %CLASSPATH%
    "-Dbea.home=e:\bea"
    "-Djava.security.policy==i:\projects\server\config\myDomain\weblogic.policy"
    "-Dweblogic.Domain=myDomain" "-Dweblogic.Name=adminServer"
    "-Dweblogic.RootDirectory=i:/projects/server"
    "-Dweblogic.management.password=weblogic" weblogic.Server
    Thanks for help on this,
    Myles

The same case with me, I sent email to apple support, but got not reply.
The apple status page indicated that every thing is fine now, what a joke.
Many devs are in this situation too, I guess we could do nothing but waiting for their system to come up.

  • Custom ELF Displays ' - ' in Extended access log

I am trying to capture some pretty basic custom fields in the extended access log.
I have created the appropriate class files and formatted the access.log correctly.
I know this because when I run Web Logic 6.1 on my windows desktop the Extended
Access Logs displays the values correctly.
When I move the JAR file containing the ELF Classes to a SunOS server with Web
Logic 6.1 the Extended Access Log contains only '-' for the custom fields. I ran
some JSP files on the sun server to pull the values from the Request to make sure
they were not null. They display correctly on the JSP so I know the values exsist
    within the request.
The mystery is why won't they display in the access.log on the sun machine? Has
anyone else experinced this? Are there any settings I should be checking for on
    the sun servers console?
    Facts:
    * The classes ae correct becuase they display correctly on the windows machine
    * The request on the sun server contains my ELF values becuase I can print them
    on a jsp page
    * The JAR file which contains the ELF classes is sitting outside of the application
and loads in the classpath successfully.(I know this because I had it wrong and
    couldn't start the server)

    Hi helenbeach,
If you've recently made changes to your Apple ID, you may need to update or log out/log back in to some of the related services for those changes to take effect. You may find the following article helpful:

  • Insync and Access Log

Each time I execute the "insync" command to check replication, I noticed always I get "RESULT err=80 " and "A1 - Client aborted connection" message in my v6.3 access logs. I have checked this in replication setups 6.3 - 6.3, 6.3 - 5.2 and 5.2 - 5.2 environments. I never get this in any of the directory server 5.2 instances. Can anyone tell me the reason for this?

Your test cases are not exactly equal. Are you getting err=80 when querying 192.168.100.1 from 192.168.100.2 (from 5.2 host to 6.3 host)? If so, you could capture snoop on 100.1 and go through it to see why it was dropped.
This has not been heard from other folks running 6.3, so it could be something unique about your 100.1 box/zone. Anyway, hope snoop can tell us something.

  • LIBTUX_CAT:1278 errors and access log entires

    Hi,
On our development database, we're observing the LIBTUX_CAT 1278 warnings quite often. Each of these entries are accompanied by an lines in the access log of the same day.
    Question is:
What do the access log entries mean? How are the two entries in the two files (the ULOG and access.ddmmyy files) related?
    125419.usplsoplhdimf03!?proc.13754.1.-2: 09-03-2010: Tuxedo Version 10.3.0.0, 64-bit
125419.usplsoplhdimf03!?proc.13754.1.-2: LIBTUX_CAT:1278: ERROR: Cannot join application - permission denied
    $ grep 13754 *
access.090310:125408.usplsoplhdimf03!?proc.13754.1.0: total client (17), logon with AUTH: NATIVE cltname (tpsysadm) usrname (OB4D2_SVR) success
access.090310:125419.usplsoplhdimf03!?proc.13754.1.0: total client (17), logoff with AUTH: NATIVE cltname (tpsysadm) usrname (OB4D2_SVR) success
    Thanks.

I can't say for sure what is happening here, but my guess is that process 13754 may be calling tpterm() on some and then continuing to call other ATMI APIs.
Most Tuxedo client APIs perform an implicit tpinit((TPINIT *)NULL) if called by an application which has not previously called tpinit(). Since this implicit tpinit does not include any authorization information, it can only succeed in an application with no authorization.
The evidence is that your application performed a successful tpinit() (logon) at 12:54:08. The access log indicates that authorization was used. At 12:54:19 the application performed tpterm() (logoff). During the same second another tpinit() was unsuccessful. Most likely this was an implicit tpinit((TPINIT *)NULL) done by some other call such as tpcall(), tpconnect(), tpacall(), or another ATMI function.
In order to further debug the problem, you may want to
    export TMTRACE=*:ulog:dye
in the client which is failing. This will cause a record of all ATMI calls to be written to the userlog.
    Regards,
    Ed

  • How do I delete an iCloud account from my iPad that I no longer know the password for and have no access to the email account to change it?

How do I delete an iCloud account from my iPad that I no longer know the password for and have no access to the email account to change it?

You will need the password. If you can't get it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com (if you remember the answers to the account's security questions then you should be able to reset it via them) then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset it.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT569
If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

    Hi,
iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat  (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
    Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

I have just acquired an iMac desktop (about 4 years old). I want to connect to my Apple airport wireless network, but cannot remember the password. How can I access the password or, if necessary, reset it. I already use a MacBook Pro and an iPad on the network and don't want to jeopardize what already works well. I am not all that computer literate.

How can I access the password or, if necessary, reset it.
Read the user manual that came w/your Airport router or you can cross-post in one of the  AirPort Forums for instructions.
