Password issues in email on ipad2 and iphone4 ios 5+

I keep getting the message on both my iphone 4 and ipad 2 that they cannot get mail because my username or password for my gmail account is incorrect.
I've re-entered the password a number of times both on my phone and ipad to no avail. I went through my laptop and logged out and logged back into gmail with same password successfully.
I've deleted and re-created the gmail account in mail on my iphone. Same thing.
I've rebooted my iphone and hardwire synced it. No change.
These problems occurred Fri. My phone and ipad updated ios at different times but both late this week.
Sugguestions?

Good info...I already deleted and re-created my gmail account in mail on my iphone. No help.
However, I did just encounter something unusual. I tried to access my gmail account through safari on my iphone. When I went to login it texted me a code to put in to verify it was really me. (sounds like what you were saying above). I did it and it let me in. However, I went back to my mail app and it's still giving me the same messages.

Why can't my ipad2 and iPhone4 and 5 recognise each other as devices using bluetooth?
Bluetooth should allow me to connect to other devices to transfer data like photo's, music, files, whatever between my apple devices and non apple devices.
Other phones allow me to do this..........what is happening here?

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • Can books/pdfs saved in iBooks be transferred across devices (iPad2 and iPhone4) with iCloud?

Can books/pdfs saved in iBooks be transferred across devices (iPad2 and iPhone4) with iCloud?  My documents in Pages is on both the ipad and iphone automatically as soon as i connect both to wifi.  The stuff in ibooks did not do this. Also- I am backing up my phone right now to icloud... it says must be plugged in, connected to wifi, and locked.   So after I do this, all of my icloud-able contents will be available on my ipad??

You might look into using Dropbox for that.  I use it between Macs but haven't tried it with my Phone.

  • Syncing MacBook iCal with iPad2 and iPhone4

Without Mobile Me, and while awaiting the iCloud, can iCal entries be synced with iPad2 and iPhone4 and vice versa?

Thanks for your reply. Problem solved :-). I had to tick the box that said 'automatically sync new apps'  and hey presto. Thanks again for your reply. According to the guy in the Apple store on Regent St in London I would have had to create a new account and use an account for each device. Didn't think that was the answer but I thought they knew best. Obviously not.......

  • My ipad2 and iphone4s won't back up.  I even bought more storage on icloud?

My ipad2 and iphone4s won't back up.  I have even bought more storage?  Not sure what to do next?

If you no longer need the backups, you can delete them by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of device you want to delete the backup for (under Backups at the top), then tap Delete Backup.  This will permanently delete it from your account, freeing up the storage it occupies.

  • Ipad2 and iphone4s 'ruined' by ois8

Advice please. Since updating to ios8 the speed and the smooth operation on my ipad2 and iphone4s has vanished. They are both now jerky, as an example, when I type anything I have to wait for it to appear and sometimes the second letter is in front of the first, due to the lag. When capitals are used I am able to type the first letter in capitals before capitals clicks off, as it is supposed to.
Is Apple planing on doing anything about this? If not can I revert to ios7?
Or is it time to look at an Android phone and tablet?
    please help.
    thanks

Have you tried any of the standard measures to clear these problems?  Such as -
Reset - hold the home button and on/off button down together until the Apple logo appears.
    Restore via iTunes

  • How do you get ipad2 and iphone4 Bluetooth to recognize each other? I tried turning on Bluetooth on both devices, but they can't detect each other

I have been having a lot of trouble connecting my ipad2 and iphone4 via Bluetooth. My iPad detects every other phone nearby except my iPhone. It does not even detect my wife's iphone4. It does detect my daughter's iphone 3S. The is very weird cause my iPhone is on iOS5, while my daughter's iphone3 is on the older iOS.
My iphone4 is simply unable to detect any other Bluetooth devices, apple device or otherwise.
This is very frustrating indeed when such advanced devices cannot do a simple function.a
    Help anyone??

my problem exactly. Did you ever figure it out? I had to resort to turning off labels in the web interface for Gmail. Not ideal

  • TS1398 Hi. My wifi keeps disconnecting. I kkep turning the wifi on and off in settings but will disconnect again after a minute or so. I use an ipad2 and my ios is updated. How to troubleshoot? - kay peralta

Hi. My wifi keeps disconnecting. I keep turning the wifi on and off in settings but will disconnect again after a minute or so. I use an ipad2 and my ios is updated. How to troubleshoot? - kay peralta

Is this happening with one particular network or with all?  Make sure iOS is updated on the device.
    Try this:
Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.
Go to settings, Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.
    Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).

  • Kindle or ibooks version of an ebook, which should i purchase for my ipad2 and iphone4s?

If there is a kindle version Using kindle app)  and an ibooks version of an ebook, which version should I purchase for my ipad2 and iphone 4s if I have the choice and why?

No, and due to ebooks tending to have digital rights management on them you will only be able to read a book in that store's app or e-reader. For Kindle books you will need to download them in the Kindle app on the iPad, and I assume for Nook that you also download them manually in the app - as far as I know the iCloud only works with the iBooks app. For Kindle :
Whispersync automatically synchronizes your bookmarks and your reading location among devices registered to the same Amazon.co.uk account and is enabled by default. When you open a Kindle book you are also reading on another device, you are given the choice to go to the furthest page read if you are further ahead on the other device

  • Syncing issues with ipad2 and iphone4

Hi, I own both an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4. I want to keep my apps on my iPad solely for my iPad and my apps on my iPhone just for my iPhone. Is there a way to sync both devices to my computer without each device having the same content as each other.

  • IPad2 and iPhone4 upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and iCloud-- duplicate app issues

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to lion a while back (have had lots of problems ever since, but that's another story).  Recently synced and upgraded my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and iCloud.  This has resulted in some of my apps on both devices seeming to have duplicates.  How can I determine if these are true duplicates and which can be eliminated?   How do I get rid of apps I don't want?

The easiest way is in iTunes.
In your iTunes Library, clickApps on the left hand side. That'll give you the full list, so the first thing you can see is whether you have duplicates in iTunes. I suggest you show the Version and release Date columns (right click a column header and choose them from the list) so you can see whether you have multiple versions.
If you have 2 the same, one might be for iPad and one for iPhone - not all apps are Universal.
Once you're happy that list is straight, connect the devices to iTunes, go to the Apps tab for each device, and uncheck the ones you don't want on that device
    Hope that helps

If you can't get the password reset via http://iforgot.apple.com (do you have a rescue email address on the account ?) then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the password reset (they should also be able to reset your security questions).

  • Apple ID issues trying to reset ipad2 and erase content

I am trying to reset my iPad but when I try to erase and reset it's asking me for the password for an old email address I don't use or have access to anymore.   My Apple ID seems to have two accts but the old one shows when I try to erase?    Help??  Not sure what he other ID is there for and is not what I'm signed into this community or iTunes with?

Go to appleID.apple.com, manage your Apple ID and login with your current apple ID and password.  Then change the primary email to the previous email and save changes.  Then on your device, go to settings > icloud > delete account and remove it from your device.  Once this is done, go back to appleID.apple.com and sign in with old apple ID and current password.....change primary email back to current email address and save changes.
