lost password keeper application after upgrading my bold 9700 with software version 6.0 bundle 2115. How do i get the application back. I tried using application from the desktop manager sofware but could not locate it

It would only be active and can be restored, if the bundle that you currently have has the same application in it.

Searching a password keeping application

I looking for a KISS application to keep my passwords.
I tried some, but each seem overcomplicated.
This is what I would like:
- storage in an single encrypted file so that I can keep it on dropbox with ease
- quick start
- easy way (possibly just after the program starts) to type a string to locate my password
- copy username/password in the clipboard or better yet outputing it simulating key presses once located
Thats about it... it would seems a program an interested person can make in few days... yet I got nothing like this.
Am I missing the obvious? Should I start making such a program? Do you know a program like that?

You could probably do that with a symmetrically encrypted gpg file and grep. I might be wrong, but I think you can just pipe around the data to keep it off disk.

Manual Sync issues - no tasks, no memos, no calendar events or entries in the Password Keeper sync with my computer

A year and a half after purchasing my phone I realized it has not been syncing hardly anything.
It will sync my pics and videos and my contacts. It says it syncs my call logs, my texts, my calendar entries, my tasks, my memos and my "applications" which I hoped meant my Docs-To-Go and my Password Keeper - applications which were on my phone when I purchased it.
However, when I look for these, the applications are nowhere to be found and the tasks and memos are unreadable. The calendar entries just don't appear at all.
I have Windows Vista 64 on my computer and the manual says the tasks and memos should appear in Microsoft Outlook. They do not.
I realized this when a manufacturing defect forced me to replace an identical phone after only a year. It took me 7 days straight to re-enter all of the information from my previous phone into its replacement. After all of that, the phone still won't synchronize.
I realize it synchronizes "wirelessly" now, but from what I can tell I would have to send each entry through email, which is time consuming.
Why can I not plug in the cord from my phone into the USB port on my computer and it backup everything? AS I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD WHEN I PURCHASED THE PHONE?

Yeah, I sort of agree...
But the dock is clearly a culprit.. my phone syncs with no problem when in the old dock, and gets hung up when connected to the combo dock with the BT headset attached.

Copying data into Password Keeper

Is there any way to copy data from a Word (or Excel) document into Password Keeper? Could you email the Word or Excel document to yourself, open up the doc on your BB, and then copy and paste into P'word Keeper? I'd appreciate any suggestions/thoughts for how to do this. I have a massive number of passwords and it would be easier to type them into Word or Excel and then copy and paste them into Passwork Keeper. (I recognize that for security purposes, I'd want to delete the document, etc.). Thank you.

Yes, emailing yourself the document and simply copy/pasting from the Word/Excel document to the PK application would work.
There is not a simpler import function into Password Keeper.
If you want a more full-featured password keeper application, check out DataVault or KeePass.

Help with Password Keeper

I keep a list of passwords in my BlackBerry using the Password Keeper application.  When I enter my password, I am getting the following message:
“A password entry created on 1/28/2008 is protected by an old password. Please enter the old password to convert the entry:” If I select Delete Entry, it gives me the same message but changes the date of the entry.
The password I am entering is correct but I don’t know the password entry created on the listed date(s). I have used the same password since I received this BlackBerry. Password Keeper will not accept any password that I enter.
PLEASE HELP! I have numerous passwords stored that I can't access.

Password keeper restore from backup file

Hello, did a full backup and restore to a new z30 but no password keeper data, - i had tried deleting password keeper, and restored the password keeper application ( still no previous data)- also tried to re-install password keeper and import data, but can not finde the fil, what is the file name or location of the file? any sugesstion ?thanks-you

No Password Keeper on 9100 - spent hours on forums, still can't get it to work! HELP!!!

Guys, before you ask me to search the forums etc, believe me I've exhausted every possible avenue to try and find out where the hell my password keeper has gone to!
So here we are, this is the situation;
1. Have an old Pearl 8110
2. Bought a new Pearl 9100
3. Backed up the 8110
4. Restored everything onto 9100
5. Where the password keeper? It's not there!
So what did I do next?
1. Factory reset/wipe - still not there.
2. Downloaded the OS6 from the website and reloaded that - still not there?
I've used the application loader and all I see in the application manager is the email set up. All the forums are saying that I can select/deselect applications to load and unload, but I can't see the password keeper anywhere.
Isn't there just a simple binary or something which I can download which I can then use the DM to upload onto the 9100?
Surely someone out there knows what to do and get this working again?

then I think the OS you installed on your PC for 9100 is incomplete. I suggest you download it once more entirely,
uninstall the previous one, install the new one and at one point while using loader.exe you will be able to select financial dictionaries as well as applications including the Password Keeper.
In any case, you cannot use the ALX file for one specific model with another model.

Import files into Password Keeper

I am a newbie to Blackberry and still discovering things, but is there a way to import a file (text, csv, other) into the Passwork Keeper application? (and export)? I've tried searching this board and Google, with no luck.

There is no such option BlackBerry for importing info into password keeper. You need to type in one by one manually!!

Password Keeper - Character changes

Hi everyone,
I've been using a Blackberry for the last couple of years and I love them to bits!
I recently got my hands on a new blackberry Curve 8310 running v4.2.2.181 (platform 2.5.0.35) (recently to me is about 1 year.)
I'm security minded but lazy at the same time, this has resulted in me using the same strong 11 digit password (alpha, numbers & Special chars) for almost everything.
Wanting to help change this, i have started using the Password Keeper on my blackberry and everythings going fine, i've populated it with details of almost every online account and physical account i have.
The thing is now I want to start using the "Generate Random Password" function to its best effect.. only one thing is buggin me....
I've done the math assosiated with cryptography at college.. adding more character length to your password is cryptographicaly stronger than using a wider range of characters.
That said an 11 digit passwod using lowercase letters, numbers and special characters is stronger than a 10 digit password using lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and special characters.
I'm looking through the options on the password keeper and it allows me to choose if i want to use numbers, if i want to use letters and if i want to use special characters, but it does not seem to have an option to let me decide if I ONLY want to use uppercase or lowercase.... if i select YES to alphabetical characters its uses both.
Does anyone know of ANY WAY i can change this?
I idealy want to use letters as well as numbers and special characters but not uppercase letters as all they really do is add confusion.

If I were you, I'd try and look for a third party application that deals with passwords. Maybe one of them will provide the features you are asking for as far as generating passwords is concerned.

Password keeper disappeared

Updated to v4.5 and my password keeper and notes icons dissapeared.
I tried to reload through Desktop Manager Advanced Restire by seclecting it individually from my back-up but it is greyed out and does not let me select it.
Help?

My apple ID password keeps changing without my authority!! Please help!

My apply ID password keeps getting changed on me. I get an email alert saying my ID has been changed, and then when I go to look at that email wondering how it got changed when I never changed it, it shows that the email is now in the "Trash" folder in my email....so I go to my trash box and then the email is not even there. I have taken screen shots of all of this happening(from the email alert to the message being in the trash). It is happening literally once to twice a week! I have changed all the security questions and passwords. I have even called apple and they could not help me. Anyone have any advice?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation!
Try logging in from another computer and changing the security questions to highly specific answers (make sure to write them down).
If you use a credit card with your account, you may consider temporarily removing it from your account (you can use the application iTunes (in the menu bar: store > view account > view payment information) for this), as well as checking whether unauthorised purchases have been made. If so, you may consider contacting law enforcement services.

Retrieve password keeper and memo pad

I have an 8900. After recently having technical difficulties w/my device, a security wipe and restore were necessary. Restore via DM did restore all but my password keeper and memo pad. How can I retrieve these very imortant applications with data intact?

You will need to install the OS to your computer and then use loader.exe to install the apps back to the device. What OS version do you have on the new device? Compose a new mail and in the body type "myver"without the quotes and hit the space bar. Please post that version number and your carrier.

Error after reinstalling Password Keeper Storm 9500 OS5

Dear all.
Some days ago I unistalled with my mobile the application Password Keeper as I did not remember the password to open it. Now I have found it and after reinstalling it gives me an error.
"Error starting net_rim_bb_passwordkeeper: Class 'net.rim.device.internal.ui.component.ToolbarButtonField' not found
I was wondering if any of you could give me some help with this.

Get Password Keeper Back

I erased the password keeper when I first got my phone and now I would like to get it back but can't figure out how. Help!

Are you sure it's gone and not just hidden? If you check under Options | Advanced Options | Applications, do you see the Password Keeper listed? If so it's most likey hidden.
To see your hidden icons go onto the home screen, the hold down your ALT key while you click on an icon. In the menu that appears select Show All. All the hidden icons will appear dimmed out. If you see Password Keeper listed, just ALT+click on it and uncheck Hide.
If the Password Keeper isn't listed under Applications, then follow the steps below to load it back onto your device:
   1. You can download & install the Desktop Manager from here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
   2. Next download & install the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
      See if you have a "multilanguage" version to choose from

      While going through the Application Loader you'll be taken to a screen with checkboxes. Make sure you check off Password Keeper. Continue through the wizard and then you'll be all set.

All Games, MemoPad, Tasks and Password Keeper gone! HELP ME!

So recently I hoocked my BB up to my mac and it said I need to repair my device so it gave me a list of softwares to repair my device with and the reccomented one was a downgrade to BB Software version 5.0.0 so ovbiously i clicked that and when it had finished, all my games, (brickbreaker, soduku ecs.) MemoPad, Tasks and Password keeper had gone!
Yes, i've tried show all, and ive tried hoocking it up and getting the application menu up, but when I tick the boxes and click okay it says the apps I selected need certial software dependencies which I don't have in order to re intall them.
HELP ME! I WANT BRICKBREAKER BACK!!!
