Password keeps expiring?

Every few days my Apple password stops working and I have to reset it... am I the only one having this problem?

Then you probably do have some IT Policy on it...
Will you check at Options > Security > General Settings and scroll to the bottom near **services** is there any policy named?

  • My Apple ID password keeps expiring

    What has happened is that on June 4, 2012, I turned on my iPhone 4 ot see that it was asking for my Apple ID password.  The password I had had for a while now was no longer working.  Hadn't changed it, and I hadn't forgotten it - the password I was using had just suddenly stopped.
    I went to iforgot.apple.com and reset it.  Saw that the password requirements had been updated a bit to insist that I include an uppercase letter in addition to lowercase letters.  Figured that that was why my password mysteriously stopped working.
    Today the same thing happened, only this time I turned on my iPad to see that Messenger was asking for my Apple ID password.  I entered it in once, and it didn't work...entered it in a second time and the password prompt disappeared, so I figured that it accepted the password.  Same thing happened on my iPhone.
    Then I get to my computer and I see that I cannot log in to icloud.com with the new password I had created on June 4.  Once again, I had to change the stupid password.
    Why is this happening (short of someone hacking into my account)?  Is the stupid password going to expire on Wednesday, because I am traveling that day and I'd really rather not have to deal with an expired password.

    fromsouth -
    I believe that you have kept the same password for a very long time.  This is the case for my wife on her Apple ID account as well. This problem is affecting only a subset of user accounts.
    Perhaps you are right that the server is reacting to some suspicious activity.  If that is the case, it sure would be nice if Apple gave the user a hint as to what activity triggered it.  If Apple is unable to solve this for me, I will be keeping track of precisely when the password expirations occur to see if the same amount of time elaspes between each occurance.
    For what it is worth, your theory about what is causing the password resets directly contradicts what thehello wrote previously in this thread:
    thehello wrote:
    I have the answer! I called Apple tech support and they know why this is happening!!!
    At some point in the past, when you went to appleid.apple.com and logged in, under the "Password and Security" option, there was a setting that allowed you to manage how often your password would expire, ie. every 1, 3, 6, 12 months... you get the idea. Well, in the recent past Apple made some changes and security enhancements to better protect peoples' private information, and guess what? They have since removed this option. One of the Senior Technical Advisors who knew exactly what I was talking about (and had intentionally turned this setting on for themselves) went into their own account, but alas, it the option was not there.
    Perhaps the Advisor he talked to was incorrect.

  • Prevent Portal password from expiring

    I need to prevent the portal schema password from expiring.
    Reason: This prevents the portal getting hung up since the portal password has expired.
    I tried changing the password policy on OID but it does not help.
    Any ideas/thoughts?

    Just making sure we answer the right question -- are you talking the portal schema password in the database or the lightweight user in the portal with the name 'portal'?
    If it is the schema password expiring, I've not heard of that on an out-of-box portal install so I assume your DBA must have changed a database policy or something of that sort. Schema passwords have nothing to do with the OID password policy.
    If it is the portal lightweight user password, that would be affected by the OID password policy but shouldn't have any affect on portal other than not being able to login as that user. You can either edit the password policy in OID to make the passwords never expire such as setting Password Expiry Time (pwdmaxage) to 999999999 or increase it to some acceptable level and make a note to update the portal and orcladmin passwords sometime in that timeframe. I recommend changing one at the beginning of the cycle and one about 1/2 of the way through so they will not both expire at the same time.
    The reference for password policies is the OID Admin guide chapter 15: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/idmanage.1012/b14082/pwdpolicies.htm#g1051713
    One thing to keep in mind is that new password policies only affect accounts after they change their password with the new policy in place.

  • How to find out the list of all user's whose passwords are expired

    Hi
    i had tried to find out the list of all user's whose passwords are expired.
    i had written some jndi code by finding the max age and then find out the current time and subtracted this current time from max age using the following code
    "Attributes attbts=ctx.getAttributes("cn=pwdpolicy");
    String maxAge=(String)attbts.get("pwdMaxAge").get();
    Date Today = new Date();
    System.out.println("maxAge"+maxAge);
    long curTime=(Today.getTime())-Long.parseLong(maxAge)*1000;"
    and then parse it and create a string time as follows
    String time=year+month+day+hour+minute+second+"Z";
    where "year" "month" etc were parsed from curTime
    now i can get the list by using following code
    "String filterCriteria="(&(objectclass=person)(pwdChangedTime>="+time+")";
    NamingEnumeration results = ctx.search(baseDN,filterCriteria, sc); "
    but the current time which i am getting is the time of my system not the time of ldap server
    so my questions are following;
    1.Can there is any way by which i can get the tivole sever's system time.
    2.If there is no way then can you suggest any other way to find out the list of user's whose passwords are expired.
    please help me.
    Thanks.
    Krishan Rathi.

    Hi,

    Read another post in the forum about this and it appears this app also installs a profile with a proxy service that you will have to try and delete as well. Check that out.

  • How to set password never expires for a user?

    Hello,
    I can't seem to find in the Administrative Console a place to enable "Password never expires".
    I know that if I edit the USR_PWD_NEVER_EXPIRES field in the OIM DB and put the value '1' it will work.
    However, I'd like to know how and if it is possible to activate this option on a user via OIM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tomic

    Hi,
    Now I got it.Try this one.
    In FormMetaData.xml you will find.
    <Attribute name="-13" variantType="String" dataLength="1" map="Users.Password Never Expires" />
    Modify it to.
    <Attribute name="-13" variantType="String" dataLength="1" displayComponentType="CheckBox" map="Users.Password Never Expires" />
    Add this in.
    <Form name="3">
    <AttributeReference editable="true" optional="true">-13</AttributeReference>
    I never need this but I hope above will work.
    About disabling the resource I have few suggestion for you.
    1.You can have your password policy consistent across the resources you are integrating in OIM.
    2.Write an entity adapter so that when ever password is expired then can disable all provisioned user.
    3.Alternatively you can also write a schedule task which will check for password expire date and disable the resource.
    4.You will also need to enable the resources when password is changed.You can catch change password event through event handler or entity adapter.
    Please let me know if you have fllow up questions.
    Regards
    Nitesh

  • My password keeps getting hacked, how can i disable my account and start a new one and not lose all the stuff I already have?

    Hi All,
    I need help, my password keeps getting hacked, and I keep changing the password, and changing all my security questions. I have changed everything I can. How can I disable my account, but not lose everything that I already have in there? Is this possible or do I have to start all over again?

    You might have some better luck if you call your country number from http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and ask to speak with the Account Security Team.

  • Manual Sync issues - no tasks, no memos, no calendar events or entries in the Password Keeper sync with my computer

    A year and a half after purchasing my phone I realized it has not been syncing hardly anything.
    It will sync my pics and videos and my contacts. It says it syncs my call logs, my texts, my calendar entries, my tasks, my memos and my "applications" which I hoped meant my Docs-To-Go and my Password Keeper - applications which were on my phone when I purchased it.
    However, when I look for these, the applications are nowhere to be found and the tasks and memos are unreadable. The calendar entries just don't appear at all.
    I have Windows Vista 64 on my computer and the manual says the tasks and memos should appear in Microsoft Outlook. They do not.
    I realized this when a manufacturing defect forced me to replace an identical phone after only a year. It took me 7 days straight to re-enter all of the information from my previous phone into its replacement. After all of that, the phone still won't synchronize.
    I realize it synchronizes "wirelessly" now, but from what I can tell I would have to send each entry through email, which is time consuming.
    Why can I not plug in the cord from my phone into the USB port on my computer and it backup everything? AS I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD WHEN I PURCHASED THE PHONE?

    Yeah, I sort of agree...
    But the dock is clearly a culprit.. my phone syncs with no problem when in the old dock, and gets hung up when connected to the combo dock with the BT headset attached.

  • Scheduled Report Fails To Run If User Password Has Expired

    Why can't a report, that has been scheduled for a user whose password has expired, continue to run and go to its predefined destinations?
    A user doesn't know until he/she attempts to log in that there is a password expiration issue.  They may have scheduled the report to go to a  multitude of inboxes, but if their password has expired, the report doesn't run.
    I can understand "some" issues with the necessity to stop the report until credentials are updated correctly.  However, Business Objects doesn't notify a user until it has expired, thus making it too late for those expecting something in their inbox.
    Is there any method of notifying users that their password is going to be expiring soon, in advance?  In other words, is there any "proactive" feature within Business Objects for notifying the user of an upcoming need to change their password?
    HepMe

    There is nothing built in to BusinessObjects for this, but there may be third-party tools available or you can write code that would do this.
    In Query Builder, run this query:
    Select SI_ID, SI_Name, SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME, SI_UPDATE_TS, SI_LASTLOGONTIME
    from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS where SI_Kind = 'User' and SI_NAME != 'Administrator' and SI_NAME != 'Guest' and SI_PASSWORDEXPIRE = 1
    order by SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME desc, SI_UPDATE_TS desc
    Users who are new and haven't yet changed their password will not have a value for SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME, so you can use SI_UPDATE_TS to determine when they were created.
    You could build an application that uses this query to determine who is getting close to password expiration and send out an email reminding those users to change their passwords.

  • SBS 2008 RWW displays "Your password has expired. Change it on the Change Password page."

    I have one User Account that when logging into RWW , a dialog (as attached) comes up? From my experience, when a password needs to be changed you are simply taken to the change password screen to enter old password and new. This AD account even has Password
    does not expire set.
    Even after changing password in AD this comes up - there are some other worrying things happening with this account as when the User opened their mailbox all of their Unread Items were marked as Read. Not sure if this is related.
    When I login with another Test User Account, I cannot force the same dialog to come up and a google does not show me much.
    Could RWW of been compromised or is there something in User AD Account? I ended up resetting Users' password via AD just to be safe, but dialog still comes up.

    Hi,
    Did this encounter for all the user accounts or just for a specific one?
    In general,if it is determined that the user must change the password upon logging on to the site (for example, the password has expired or set to User must change password at next logon), the logon page will present that error message to the user.
    Please check the prperties of that user account to see if you have selected "User must change password at next logon"check box.
    In addition, please check the default domain policy via the path below: Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Account Policies/Password Policy
    Pleae check the value you have configured for “Maximum password age”.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • No Password Keeper on 9100 - spent hours on forums, still can't get it to work! HELP!!!

    Guys, before you ask me to search the forums etc, believe me I've exhausted every possible avenue to try and find out where the hell my password keeper has gone to!
    So here we are, this is the situation;
    1. Have an old Pearl 8110
    2. Bought a new Pearl 9100
    3. Backed up the 8110
    4. Restored everything onto 9100
    5. Where the password keeper? It's not there!
    So what did I do next?
    1. Factory reset/wipe - still not there.
    2. Downloaded the OS6 from the website and reloaded that - still not there?
    I've used the application loader and all I see in the application manager is the email set up. All the forums are saying that I can select/deselect applications to load and unload, but I can't see the password keeper anywhere.
    Isn't there just a simple binary or something which I can download which I can then use the DM to upload onto the 9100?
    Surely someone out there knows what to do and get this working again?
    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance!

    then I think the OS you installed on your PC for 9100 is incomplete. I suggest you download it once more entirely,
    uninstall the previous one, install the new one and at one point while using loader.exe you will be able to select financial dictionaries as well as applications including the Password Keeper.
    In any case, you cannot use the ALX file for one specific model with another model.

  • "Password has expired" for user created via UME API

    Hi,
    I have written a service that processes new user accounts and uses the UME API to create them. The code works fine on my local Sneak Preview installation of EP6 SP16, allowing the created users to logon and forcing them to change their password on first login.
    When I try and run this code on EP6 SP14 it completes without generating any exceptions but when I try and login I get the message "Password has expired" and cannot login or change the users password.
    Does anyone know why?
    I have the following UME settings for both servers:
    ume.logon.security_policy.password_change_allowed = TRUE
    ume.logon.security_policy.password_change_required = TRUE
    ume.logon.security_policy.password_expire_days = 99999
    The SP14 server also uses LDAP to authenticate users primarily  and has the following setting:
    ume.persistence.data_source_configuration = dataSourceConfiguration_ads_deep_readonly_db.xml
    There are some other UME configuration differences but none that seem relevant to this problem.
    Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?
    Cheers,
    Steve Archer

  • PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

    Can one of you smart guys explain to me how to use the Password Keeper?  How do you access it and what exactly is it for?  I have an 8310 on 4.2.2 with ATT.
    Thanks for your assistance!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Just be careful not to forget the password you use to access the Password Keeper. If you put in the wrong password 10 times, all of the stored password will be erased from the device. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11145

  • Import files into Password Keeper

    I am a newbie to Blackberry and still discovering things, but is there a way to import a file (text, csv, other) into the Passwork Keeper application? (and export)?  I've tried searching this board and Google, with no luck.
    Thanks in advance.

    There is no such option BlackBerry for importing info into password keeper. You need to type in one by one manually!!
