Password Manager for websites

I find this site VERY difficult to use and I use it only, or rather try to use it, for updates.  I get a notification on my computer that I need to update and can only do so my visiting the site EVEN though I have signed up for automatic and I find it IMPOSSIBLE to find where and what needs to be updated.  This should be VERY simple.  EWhty is it so complicated and why do I have to visit the site?

  • A password manager for Midori

    Hello to everyone,
being a would-be Midori user that lacks a password manager, some time ago I made a script that worked as a password manager. Now I've made a Midori extension for this task and made it available on AUR http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49314. From the README file in the package:
The password manager extension for Midori is based on formhistory.c and on my
    userscript for password management (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/62098).
It works by reading the network passwords with domain "midori" from the login
keyring and storing them in a GHashTable. Whenever your browser loads a page
with a corresponding address in the GHashTable, a script that inserts user
and password is built and executed on that page. Whenever you submit a login
form, a similar script is built and executed, and returns the new data, which
is stored in the GHashTable and in the login keyring.
When you choose to never store a password for a site, the extension will store
a user/password pair equal to __never_store_here__/whatever. The user part of
the pair (i.e. __never_store_here__) is used to remember that passwords must
    not be stored.
Sometimes the extension fails to detect that a form has been submitted, so it
won't store your user/password pair. In such cases use the lpins utility to
manually insert the pair into the login keyring, like this
    $ lpins http://www.averystrangelogin.com user password
Note that the pair is inserted in the login keyring, not in the GHashTable, so
you need to deactivate/reactivate the extension so it'll read the new pair.
    Missing features:
    * I don't know how to check when the login is successful, so wrong user-
      password pairs will be stored.
    * There isn't a utility for listing/deleting/modifying passwords, use seahorse
for these tasks (Midori passwords have domain "midori").
    * I don't know how to deal with password forms that uses md5hash for basic
protection (like ubuntu forums), so the extension won't work for these sites.
Please note that I'm not an expert in internet security, crypting algorithms,
javascript programming or webkit programming, so use this extension at your
    own risk.
I sent this extension upstream, but the author, Christian Dywan, would like to have it merged with form history. Which is beyond the limited time I can spend on these activities.
Please send bug reports and comments in the AUR comments area of the package.

You should really consider calling support and having them clarify their licensing agreements for you, because you are grossly incorrect about almost everything you've said.
RoboForm Everywhere and only RoboForm Everywhere is an annual subscription (allowing you to use any RoboForm product on all of your devices for one annual fee).
the RoboForm Desktop and RoboForm2Go products are still a one time charge for the life of the version and do not have to be renewed annually at all. They do not expire.
Also, what older mac version are you hoping to revert back to? RoboForm for mac was just released as a full version (not a beta) within the past few months. Mac users cannot revert back to an older version of the Mac software because there is no older version. If you purchased a license of your mac, the current version is still included with the license you already own. There is no previous version.
Although the .rfp filetype is used only by RoboForm and not compatible with other password managers, you can still export the data to create a backup. You can also created a printed list of your data if needed.
You are not entitled to Windows 7 for free just because you bought Windows Vista and RoboForm (as well as most software) is no different. I understand why you may be unhappy about the upgrade but you should research more.
Also, LastPass has had multiple security breaches in the past year, RoboForm has had none in the history of the company, just something to think about.

  • Need T420 ThinkVantage Password Manager for Dummies

OK.  I"m an idiot.  How is the password manager supposed to work?  The "help" section says this about making a new entry: When you type in a user name and password for the first time in a particular Web site or Web page that requires this information, Password Manager automatically displays the following prompt: "Would you like to save this Web Site with Password Manager?"
I have created several new user names and passwords at sites since using this new computer, and I have yet to see the Password Manager ask any questions.  What am I missing?

you have to have at leased a windows password set before you can use it for web logins
also in the settings make sure the check box is checked
    your will look different

Try setting Blazer to "Open with Blank Page".
    Blazer/Options (from the pull-down menu)/Preferences.
When you try to connect, tap your Home icon in Blazer to get to the Acknowledgement page.
Did you sign up for a "long-term" agreement with McD's?  I haven't used it in ages there, and only remember a "by the hour" fee schedule.

  • MSecure Password Manager for WIN 8 Phones not here...

For anyone the presently uses the messes mSecure Password Manager app on a IOS or DROID system, the bad news if I was told by the developers that there is not a version for the WIN 8 phone - yet. They justt finished the version for tablets, and will begin work on the phone version.  However, they could not give a release date. So if you are like my you are stuck carrying both your Win 8 phone and iPod if you need access to mSecure entries. :-(

Not sure what you are talking about here but if you are trying to create recovery disks you may be too late after performing the update.  If indeed recovery manager is missing, it cannot be download.  See this:
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643
Should you be talking about a hard disk image you should be looking at a program like Macrium Reflect Free and perform the image ideally to an external hard drive.

  • ThinkVantage Productivity Centre/Password Manager for Windows 7 Beta?

Hi, i've noticed that there's no beta build of ThinkVantage Productivity Centre for Windows 7 Beta. Is Lenovo intending to release one?
But most important of all(my main question actually), is that can Password Manager be made available? I found it quite useful in Vista and would realy appreciate the availability of it for Windows 7 Beta

    Christian,
Try going to the Fingerprint Software Settings and check-mark the box that says "Use fingerprint scan instead of password when logging into Windows." This will allow you to use the finger scaner to log-in.  As far as saving user names and passwords, you will need to download the ThinkVantage Client Security Solution:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=migr-46391
Unfortunately Windows 7 is not yet supported.
Does anyone have a link to the beta ThinkVantage Client Security Solution for  Windows 7?

  • Recommended Password manager for iPad1?

Hmmm...first, I gotta say, the new forum structure here is too much of a good thing. Too cute by half. The old format was a LOT easier to navigate around, mainly because it looked like every other forum out there. So, Apple has overdesigned something that didn't need redesigning. And it loads like a pig on the iPad over 3G, so this is not an improvement. But, to my question:
Looking for recommendations for a password/sensitive information manager. It should synch with a laptop in some way, and while I don't have an iPhone, having iPhone compatibility would be a plus but not required.
    Anyone have recommendations?
    thx!

The great thing about 1Password is the thought that went into the database and the tools/customization. It has built in several classes of information with all the things you would expect:
Wallet data is great for Drivers License, Passport, Memberships and Credit Cards
Software is great for licenses, emails, license codes, purchase costs (and I use this to track hardware as well)
Identities allows you to collect address and contact info - work, personal, vacation - very valuable for keeping track of family members information for wills / estate / or just a secure place to store it.
Accounts - general purpose to track your accounts on web / servers / database - tech heavy info here
Of course it does web forms and passwords very very well.
Lastly - The support I've received even asking a bizarre question is expertly answered by someone that has a deep understanding of the product.

  • Password manager for Playbook

Hi, can anyone out there recommend  an app similar to Roboform, that works on Blackberry playbook, I have tried 20 today, and most only store passwords, thought I had cracked it, but when I downloaded it, found it only worked with pre-programmed U.S. sites. I just want to store passwords and use them to log onto 20 or so websites, to save doing it mannually. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

It would be great to get SpringPad, Flipbook and Instapaper on board. Also having Pulse, PopCap games and Zynga would make this device shine.

  • Passwords for websites on localhost (xampp) server

    Hello
I'm web developer and I have a ton of websites on my xampp server on localhost.
Many of those are Joomla websites and each has different and long Admin password which I would like to be remembered by FireFox password manager.
When previewed locally they these have addresses like this:
    http://localhost/some-website-name-1
    http://localhost/some-website-name-2
    etc.
Problem is that FF password manager remembers em like this:
"http://localhost", website name is not remembered, which means that I cannot use FF password manager for storing passwords on localhost, because all localhost website names are stored with same URL.
Is it possible to modify FF password manager to remember full website name on localhost?
So that website is remembered like "http://localhost/some-website-name-1" instead of just "http://localhost".
I guess that an option to manually edit remembered sites would solve this issue as well.
    Thanks
    Regards

    '''2 dumdidadida:'''
    - password manager works OK, but problem is that if I try to store password for this website name: "http://localhost/myweb1"
Instead of "http://localhost/myweb1" FF password manager (FFPM) stores it like this "http://localhost". It cuts off "myweb1"
So If I have 100 websites on my localhost server, all with different names
http://localhost/myweb1, http://localhost/someotherwebname, etc, FFPM stores all of them like this "http://localhost", so FF treats all of them like same web.
This problem exists only on my localhost apache XAMPP server where I'm developing websites.
    '''2 cor-el:'''
    - I tried to use "Saved passwords editor" FF extension, but if I manually edit saved "http://localhost" URL, and change it into "http://localhost/myweb1" FF doesn't prompt for saved password anymore, when I try to log in.
Anyway, Ill just continue to use text file with passwords, like I was doing from the start :)
    Thanks for your replies.

  • This Nightly feedback, Steganos password Manager drop and drag functionality no longer works after last update.

Cut and paste still works but the drop and drag so longer works.
This for Nightly Beta 64 bit.

I too have the problem: W7 64 bit. Drag and drop worked until yesterday when I "upgraded" to FF v 26.0 - I can no longer drag passwords etc from my password manager to website fields - a barred circle appears when I try to drag.
I tried pressing ESC (one profferred solution) and also reset FF to no avail.
This is more than annoying: some of my passwords are dozens of characters long and there's no way I can access sites by typing them in! I need a solution, even if it's reverting to a previous version.

  • Password Manager

I recently removed Client Security because the password manager for internet logins was not working and CSS seemed to be the cause.  I have seen many discussions abount password manager but not any solution that was applicable.  Is there a way to use CSS and pasword manager on Vista Business SP2 sucessfully?  Is there a password manager without CSS and how is it accessed?

    Hey 0_hilliard,
What is happening is that you have Password Manager a Thinkvantage tool running on your computer. Here is a link talking about Password Manager.

  • CSS - Password Manager and Firefox 6.x

I have just installed Client Security Solution for windows 7, 64bit.
I have Firefox 6.0.1 installed. Everytime I start Firefox, I have the following message:
    "TypeError: Components.classes[TvtPwmComponent_CID] is undefined"
Apparently, this is the Password Manager extension which does not work in Firefox version 6 or above. Is there any updates for this or I just disable it?
    Any idea is appreciated.
    JN

    hey jamesnb,
currently there is no patch for FF 6.0.1 (sorry about that). Only thing i can recommend is to disable Password Manager for the time being.

    Hello
Password Manager4.7 is now not using  IE plug-in or IE extensions.
There is a process name like "pwm_ie_helper_desktop.exe" which is to help to fill password manager for IE.
Did you see this process  running when you opened IE?
