Password Manager shut down

Hi,
since the latest Windows XP Updates the password manager is starting up on my T61p, but it's showing only the "About" Dialog Box with a OK button. After clicking on OK the program shut down. I'm running on Version 8.10.0006.00 of CSS.
Besides the Lenovo Message Center is starting with an empty dialog box even and is shut downed also.
Thank's for some help.
Ulrich

I recreate password file successfully on the different OS (windows 2k server). I guess that it might be very identical conceptually. This is what I have done:
1. shutdown the instance.
2. delete the pwdfile under oracle_home\database, (oracle_home/dbs under Unix environment).
3. create a new pwdfile as you did under the proper directory.
4. log in the server manager (svrmgrl) with sysdba role and restart the instance. It should be ok with new pwdfile.
Hope it helpful.

  • PC Suite 6.86.9.3 - Music Manager shuts down.

I just bought the nokia n73 ME, and I downloaded the PC suite 6.86.9.3 from the net. However when I try to use the Music Manager to transfer music, after I select the songs and choose copy to the phone, my music manager shuts down.
Please advise if there is a bug in the PC Suite. I have re-installed the PC Suite back on my phone, and tried everything...PLease advise.

    Hi,
I am using an USB connection. And just to give you some more details, I am using windows xp with 256 MB Ram.
What I tried was copying the files from my pc and pasting it in the music folder using the file explorer...!! and it worked fine...!! but now, if I need to set a message tone as one of those songs {from profiles-general-message tone} none of those songs appear in the default list...which I think it should...
Is it because I transfered the music the other way and not using the Music manager? and is there a fix or any other way that u can think of being able to see those transfered song in the default list to be able to choose them as a message tone?

Your best solution is to use some other tool to rip the music, then use File Transfer (USB mass storage) to drag and drop. It's much faster than using PC Suite.
i-Tunes allows you also to rip into AAC (m4a) and that works with N91.
I've tested WMP 9 and WMP10 (now beta testing WMP11) and they all work differently but work with N91 (both WMA and MP3 formats)
WInamp also rips into formats that are supported in N91.
If you don't want to pay for the encoder, use Audiograbber. It's great for Mp3
Is there a reason why you want to use Nokia Music Manager?

  • Admin name/password when shutting down

Here's a weird one. Just got a MacBook and transferred data/settings etc. from iBook using firewire. Everything seems to work, except: when multiple users are logged in, and I try to shut down, it asks for Admin name/password in order to shut down. Same as iBook, except the MacBook doesn't recognize either the name of the Admin or the password (don't know which). The admin password worked for installing software updates, so I'm totally confused. I reset the admin password using the install disc, but it still doesn't recognize the name or password. Anyone have a clue to help? Log in password works, as does the app. install (as I mentioned).

    Thank for the hint, James!
There was a problem with an "extra" user logged in - "_xcsbuildd ".
"sudo xcrun xcscontrol --reset" completely removes the Xcode Service including the _xcsbuildd user.

  • ML Server- managing shut down

What is the best way to set up a regular power cycle of the Mac Mini when using it with Mountain Lion Server? Ideally, would like to schedule a weekly automatic shutdown of the hardware and restart of the Mini. Since running Server, I notice that prior to shutting down Server wants to get OK to shut down and send push notifications to clients.
Can I automate the process for a weekly power cycle of several clients (two of three) and the Server Machine, with Server, or even the previous method- System Preferences>Energy Saver?

    JaimeMagiera wrote:
Take a look at the "pmset" command. You may want to wrap it in a script that calls "serveradmin" as well, to do any service shutdown and cleanup before the restart.
    http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/ man1/pmset.1.html
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to do this?
Thanks for your comments, Jaime. The BSD (Linux) command seems suitable. How would it play into a server control script?
My idea was to call the clients to shut down, shut down the server, power down the hardware. Next, wait 10-15 min. and power up the Server machine, then the clients (reversing the order) after the Server is alive and running. I hadn't planned any server cleanup at this time but it is obviously quite do-able.
I find power cycle a VERY convenient way to flush many built-up slowdowns in the OS from the hardware. I try to do it once a week at off hours. Usually Monday morning (in the case of one client), or Sunday @ 12N (in case of the rest). I have a System Pref schedule on all the machines now, perhaps it could be scripted and called direct from the server machine instead?
How would I go about this? ML Server does very few jobs for me now, simply being a file share manager at this time.

  • Opening Control Center Manager Shuts Down OWB Application

We are currently using OWB Release 10g Release 2 and have not had any issues for the past 1.5 years. All of the sudden beginning last week, we started experiencing issues with the software.
    1. Last week, I logged into Design Center. No problems. I then went to Tools - Control Center Manager. As the Control Center window attempted to open, it shut down the entire OWB application. Interesting. I logged in as a different user and was able to get in later.
    2. As of today, I don't have any issues with OWB. I'm able to get to Control Center without any problems.
    3. My co-worker is experiencing the same problem that I had last week. As soon as he tries to open Control Center Manager, all of OWB shuts down including Design Center. He restarted his PC, tried to log in as a different user, etc. but nothing seems to help.
We looked under the C:\OraHome_1\owb\log directory but nothing is there. Does anyone have any clues as to what is going on or where we can check to see what is causing this problem?
    OWB Client 10.2.0.4.36
    OWB Repository 10.2.0.4.0
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer
Worth starting the OWB client using the batch or shell script depending on your platform (either owb/bin/win32 or owb/bin/unix/owbclient.sh) and pasting the standard output from the console window into the forum when you do this, it might have some clues.
    Cheers

  • Nokia Music Manager shuts down immediately after o...

Hi again, the music manager still shuts down straight away even after i've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I have no idea why!

Right now I'm unable to upload or organise any music because it shuts down immediately.

  • Pix 525 6.3 Password Recovery shuts down TFTP server

I noticed that everytime I try to run the password recovery procedure to retrieve the np63.bin file from my tftp server, the pix hangs and the tftp app shuts down completely. I am investigating but if any one knows off the top,,I would appreciate the sharing.

I got it...I'm not sure what it was but as soon as I plugged both inside and outside interfaces in that allowed the file to be received. I guess that's the way it works. The document must presume you know this.
The "Duhs" have it! Motion passed!!

  • Firefox forgets usernames and passwords after shutting down the computer.

I've reset all settings, cleared cache, cookies, etc. I also removed and reinstalled Firefox but it still forgets.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

  • HT3275 I encrypted my WD elements SE external hard drive with Time Machine and now everytime i enter my password it shuts downs my mac book pro. I contacted WD and they say its an issue with Time Machine?

    Any advice?

Hi, I tried your advice and it tells me the external drive is ok, and the ERASE section is grey, probably because I encrypted the disk!?!
Still the same issue: every time I enter my password to access the external hard drive, it restarts the macbook and I get a screen that says: the computer restarted because of a problem... so frustrating!
    Any other ideas?

  • App manager shuts down while downloading Indesign trial because I don't have administrator rights on my pc, though I do. What could I do here?

The question is in the title already My user account is the only one on this PC so it's 100% certain that I'm the administrator. Thank you for any kind of help and answers!

Hmm, but of course I'm the administrator because there's no other accounts on this pc? And I didn't have problems installing anything else before so it shouldn't be about that. But thanks for a quick reply anyway!

  • Shut-down problems in 10.5.8

    Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can throw a little light on my problem!
I have just set up a new 24" iMac, and after updating to 10.5.8 when I am logged into my admin account and have 'fast user switching' enabled between my 'other user' account, I cannot seem to shut down the iMac.
My 'other user' account is a 'standard' account and does not have administrator privileges.
When I go to shut down in my admin account the usual window appears with the following info: 'There are currently logged in users who may lose unsaved changes if you shut down this computer' and an invitation to give the administrator's name and password. I do so, but another widow appears advising me that '.... the user name or password is incorrect, please try again' and I cannot shut down. The iMac does not seem to recognise the admin (system) password nor my name - although it accepts my name and password elsewhere on the system ..
When I go to the top right hand corner of the screen and click on my admin name (fast user) both user accounts are checked.
I thought that the administrator's name and password was 'final' and used to over-ride any problems. I now have to logout of one account before I can shutdown - I have never had to do this before.
Why does the iMac not recognise my admin password when shutting down?
I don't have this problem with my G5 MacBook Pro, nor my G4 PowerBook.
The iMac shipped with 10.5.6 and after the update is now running 10.5.8.
Sorry to appear a little 'long winded', but any advice would as usual be fully appreciated. My apologies if this post is in the wrong area.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi CMCSK,
Thanks for your reply; yes I tried Apple Care - but sadly the particular techie I talked to couldn't help me - I don't think he really understood the problem.
Why does my iMac fail to recognise the Administrator's name and password when shutting down whilst two accounts are logged in?
On the other hand, I will try again today and hopefully I will speak to a techie nearer England!
    Thanks for your help,
    best
