Password Manager won't save Logons under Win 7

T61p win7 pro 64 bit . Just installed CSS and fingerprint software. Everything sets up and the fingerprint reader allows me to log on. Try to set up a fingerprint log i.e. quicken on in Password Manager and it does NOT save.
Asks if I want to. Create a name etc. but nothing saves.???

Fixed!!! Went back into the dir: swtools/apps/fingerprint and noticed a second file named updater. Ran, rebooted.
Works. Never would have seen unless I went back.

Password Manager won't start

Password Manager won't start. If I click on the ThinkVantage icon and go to Security, Protection, and Recovery > Manage passwords, it makes the system tray icon show up but it doesn't fill in passwords. If I right click on the system tray icon and click Open Password Manager... it doesn't do anything.
Any ideas?

Problem with Client Security Password Manager won't let me open it?

32-bit
IE-10
Client Security Password Manager 8.30.0057.00
It allows me to save passwords.
It will not allow me to get into the program to check/edit/delete the password info.
Fingerprint software 3.3.2.43 is working correctly.
Also does not let it auto-fill.
Have tried un-installing and re-installing.
Please advise.

You could try the new password manager.

Or you could try to delete all the files,
Find Client Security Solution in user profile folder (Search hidden), and delete them all.
And restart system.
Before doing this, remember to export passwords

Adobe Reader won't save forms under Mavericks.

After installing Mavericks on a Mac, discovered that Adobe Reader won't save forms or e-mail them with the filled-in information. DOes anyone know a fix? Does anyone know if this is also true for Acrobat?

The reason is Adobe has not updated there software yet to play well with Mavericks. The fault is of course with the Adobe Software. I suggest you go to there web site and see if they have a fix yet for there software, If not all you can do is continue to check back with them or get on there fourms and see what others have to say about this same issue.

Network manager won't save connection password

Hi there.
I am installing new notebook and I am stuggling with an issue for couple of days already.
I am on Cinnamon and I am using Network Manager.
Before installing that, I had net-auto-wireless daemon in rc.conf which did the job and wifi was working.
After switch to NM, I can search and see networks around me, but connection fails.

I have searched forum here, but haven't found any solution so far.
When I select my network from NM applet, I never get asked for password. However, if I start nm-connection-editor from the command line, edit connection and password there, then all starts to work and there is no problem anymore. So the issue appears to be that NM never asks for password and therefore no connection can be stored.
I have read the wiki and have created org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.pkla in /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d directory.
Some remarks:
- please do not suggest to switch to wicd, I know about it, but I prefer to fix NM instead
- I tried to remove my other computer's saved wifi and it exhibits the same behavior. It worked once, 100% sure about it.
- It does not work also under regular Gnome 3 session, so it is not Cinnamon's fault.

Keychain won't save. Driving me insane.

For months the keychain would not save one password out of three email accounts with the same provider, all the same password. Finally I got some advice at the .Mac sync forum to Reset the Keychain from Preferences. That worked as it basically started over. But now there is an Amazon Seller password that won't save. I say "Yes" each time to save but it still asks each time.
When I try to go to .Mac to change the sync'ing of Keychain I get an error saying the keychain can't be saved showing the error # -2147415734. Anyone know what that is?

I followed your advice and we will see. When I opened that one item in the keychain list and checked the box to 'show password' the error dialogue came up saying 'access to that item restricted'. Any idea why that would be?

Fixed sound issues under wine, but would like to know how

I managed to get sound working under wine. I have no idea how, but I did. Ill explain and see if anyone can make sense of it.
So I initially set up kmix to where my primary device was my soundblaster card. I would continuously get errors like "creative blah did not work, switching to 'HD audio generic'.
I would not get system notification sounds but things like youtube and movies would. I had no luck with wine. I then started experimenting with the preferred devices and set the generic one to primary. The sound would work, but my problem was reversed. I would get notification sounds but no youtube or media audio. I then tried moving "default" up to preferred, only to get the same result. Neither gave me any sound in games under wine --not to mention the horrible system hangups when using "HD audio generic" and "default"
So I decided I prefer media audio over notification audio and went back to my original configuration. The result was that I still got system notifications but no media audio. At this point, I became very confused and started experimenting with changing the sound profiles. Any sort of chage at all would create a "dummy device" as playback out of my creative card. About 15 reboots later and luck? maybe, I got it to at least give me notification audio. I was stumped. I also noticed that the hangups were returning.
After exhausting all the options, I was like "oh well better move the HD audio Generic back up" and see what happens. Reboot. Somehow, I got media audio AND wine sound worked as well as the system hangups stopping.
I have no idea. Anyone have a clue?
Im glad its working, but im not going actually going to learn anything unless i figure out what happened.

Update: Ive found at least a modicum of consistency here. If I try to change anything in the preferences at all once I get wine audio working, it will stop working.
Thus far, here are my options..I can have
System Notification audio working and nothing else
System notification audio and media audio working, but no wine
Media Audio and Wine Audio working, but no system notification audio
But not all three
If I change one preference, wine audio on its own will stop working, or wine audio AND media audio will quit working.
If I change it back to the settings which allow wine audio and media audio to work, it usually will not. It will however work, consistently after enough reboots...2-10.
Any ideas?

Password won"t save in account info

I have a Verizon email address that requires a password to send mail. When I enter the password under the advanced settings it will not save. the save settings option does not come up. The password is correct. it sjust won't save. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean. For starters, the Preferences > Accounts > Advanced settings are for the incoming server, whereas you appear to be saying that you have sending problems. The outgoing server settings are in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings...

Won't save websites password

I have tried two advice one is click on Remember password in option and that did not save the website password. I have tried disable Remember password as I can't find anywhere in option that clear history when closing the application. Even on website, I click on "Remember me" or "Remember password", either Firefox or the website won't save the password for next time in Firefox. I have version 29.0.1. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox with no success. Example of two websites I am having problem saving password for are Myspace and AOL. Can is there something I am missing to make this work? Thank you.

you can find several add-ons that can override this, and give you better
control of your password information.
One last thing. In the event that the passwords information is lost, you
should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else
on your hard drive. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so.
If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can
compress it using a password.

Apple ID password change will not save on manage my apple ID page

Hello, I have logged into the Manage MY Apple ID webpage.
I am trying to change the password. I click save and log out.
Changes are apparently not taken into account. Password is still the old one.
I have tried this many many times. Won't save my changes.
Also, before loging out, I have tried to click another link such as 'address' etc...in an attempt to navigate to another section of the manage my apple id page. When I do this I get a message that I have made changes but they are not saved. I am then given an option to save changes or not. Even when I click save from this pop up window the password remains the old one.

Let's go through the process in case anyone isn't doing it quite correctly:
Go to http://appleid.apple.com . Click on 'Manage your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and current password.
Click 'Password and security' in the left column.
You will be asked to answer two security questions which you preset.
In the next pane click 'Change password'.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
If you created a new account then you can log out of the old account and in with the new one as above, but any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can re-download its content and download updates to its apps.

Firefox won't save passwords; reminder option does not come up... on two different PCs in two different homes.

Both PCs: XP PRO SP3; Seagate Barracuda HDs, routine environment for both, no games, Microsoft Office, Quicken, stuff like that. Password manager in Win 7 doesn't open (nor show in Cllent Security)

I've browsed through the previous posts but couldn't find a solution to this:
My password manager shows in the tray, yet it won't open. I can however change preferences but nothing happens. Also in client security solutions it is grayed out. I have already reinstalled it, but nothing happened. No error messages as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Btw, I'm running this on a Lenovo Thinkpad T400 with Win7 Enterprise Edition, 32-bit.

You might want to try un-reging and re-reging the following DLL's.
HP Support screwed this up for me and a repair/reinstall of CSS and FPR didn't fix it.

I can't save my passwords. Password manager doesn't seem to work properly. I deleted Firefox and installed it again but the problem insists. I checked the settings and everythink is OK. Do you see any passwords in the Firefox Password Manager?
Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
If not then delete key3.db and signons.sqlite as suggested in the Troubleshooting section.

You need to set a new Master Password after renaming or deleting [http://kb.mozillazine.org/key3.db key3.db] and you lose all your currently saved passwords.
