    Hello,
    Mac OS X 10.4 Help, I forgot a password in my Keychain
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1960.html
    Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...
    If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1544
    Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.

  • Why why why is my password not being recognized, i JUST changed it yet again

    Why is my password not being recognized?  I've used the same password, successfuly for the past year.  All of a sudden, it tell me my password is incorrect. So I change it.  Write it down.  Still not recognized.  What is going on here?  Thanks for ANY help.

    Have you restarted your phone since resetting your password? I know it seems so simple, but it's just like when you update a computer and have to restart. It doesn't hurt to try

  • Password not being included in Email Notification

    I am trying to include the password for a newly-created user, in the body of an Email Notification being sent out.
    But, the password is not being displayed.
    As we all know, IDM uses the following variable for "*Password*" :
    *<Field name='password.password'/>*
    So, I included the password variable in my Email Template, as follows :
    *<Variable name='mypassword'>*
    *<select>*
    *<ref>user.password.password</ref>*
    *</select>*
    *</Variable>*
    But, when the Email is sent, the password is displayed in the email body as follows :
    Password = "*Lighthouse_Fake_Password*"
    How can I get the password to be displayed in the Email?
    Thanks

    Hi Michael,
    since passwords are stored in encrypted format, you can not directly display them using user.password.password.
    You have to first decrypt them. Use below rule by passing account id to it.
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <!DOCTYPE Rule PUBLIC 'waveset.dtd' 'waveset.dtd'>
    <!--  MemberObjectGroups="#ID#Top" lastMod="8" lastModifier="Configurator" name="getUserPassword"-->
    <Rule name='getUserPassword' creator='Configurator' createDate='1242288447593' lastModifier='Configurator' lastModDate='1242361940859' lastMod='8' primaryObjectClass='Rule'>
      <RuleArgument name='accid'/>
      <block>
        <setvar name='passString'>
          <invoke name='decryptToString'>
            <get>
              <invoke name='getObject' class='com.waveset.ui.FormUtil'>
                <select>
                  <invoke name='getLighthouseContext'>
                    <ref>WF_CONTEXT</ref>
                  </invoke>
                  <ref>:display.session</ref>
                </select>
                <s>User</s>
                <ref>accid</ref>
              </invoke>
              <s>password</s>
            </get>
          </invoke>
        </setvar>
        <ref>passString</ref>
      </block>
      <MemberObjectGroups>
        <ObjectRef type='ObjectGroup' id='#ID#Top' name='Top'/>
      </MemberObjectGroups>

  • Emails not being recieved, tried removing all passwords, not being asked for one when I re-open thunderbird

    stopped receiving emails 3 days ago to both accounts I have. On line at verizion I see the new emails but Thunderbird is not opening them. Any suggestions? Thanks

    If you deleted all password in Thunderbrd and are not being asked for them that points straight at your anti virus program and it's "password vault" messing up. Try disabling email scanning in your internet security suite.

  • Passwords not being saved at all...

    I've run keychain first aid, made sure auto fill is checked, etc. ... read the forum, all that. No new passwords are being saved. I cleared the list of former passwords (they were all old anyway) and now the passwords list is blank. Still at log-ins to any site I visit there is no prompt to save in keychain or anything. How to fix?

    Actually I think they are being saved, but my main experience with this issue is that passwords are not auto-filling any more. Yes, I do have the boxes checked that I want these auto-filled.
    Also, this seems to have started with the last Safari update in mid-March. Help, anyone?

  • Root password not being saved

    When I enable the root user it asks me for the password, then password verification. Then when I leave terminal I disable the root user. Next time I enable it, it again asks for the password and to verify it, but I can enter ANY password and get into SU in terminal. So anyone that can get to enable the root user and set a password. This is dumb or I am not understanding something here. The computer should remember the last password and use that password and not allow just ANY password to give super user access???
    Rachael

    I would be uncomfortable leaving the root user enabled. Frankly speaking the root password should be saved once I set it then disable the root user, saving that password for the next time I enable the root user it. Why is there even an option to change the password if it is not saved. Stupidity. Even setting the password in terminal with the passwd command will not save it. Stupidity. This is not how it worked in Snow Leopard. You set a password and it stuck. What is the point of having a password for root, it anyone can enter anything to reach it. Stupidity
    But thanks for the suggestion

  • Name/Password not being accepted when trying to install software

    New iMac user here. When trying to install new software I get a message "Type your password to allow install of _________ to make changes." I am entering the correct password for my user name, even changed it to make sure. Not able to get through this part of the installation process. Any information is appreciated!

    NurseCarol,
    Double check that the caps lock isn't on, if it isn't then try restarting in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. If that doesn't work your new iMac has 90 days of AppleCare support. You can call them M-Sat during business hours, the phone number is in your owners manual.

  • One username and password not being added to keychain

    I have entered a username and password for a webpage and answered yes when asked it I wanted this saved it to my keychain.
    However I can not find the u/n and pass word in my keychain (Safari>Preferences>Passwords) and this u/n and pw is not shared with my other devices.  All my other u/n and pw are in my keychain and are shared with all my other devices.
    Can I manually add a u/n and pw to my keychain?

    Hi Matt,
    I did previously have "Private Browsing" selected and deselected that and that is when I could set up FF with my username and pw but could not on Wells Fargo. So, I did what you suggested and that was to delete cookies because that seemed like a good reason but alas, it still will not give me the option to set up the username/pw.
    I would not be surprised if it is Wells Fargo, they are a bit of a pain. You cannot even save them in Bookmarks because I was told they are constantly making changes to their site and this stops the bookmark from working.

  • Mac Mail: smpt password not being recognized

    Short version: I had to update my ATT modem and this prompted me to re-establish a connection with ATT.net. Given that I never use my ATT browser mail, I called tech support for the password. Once set, I was up and running on the internet. Even received emails via MacMail, but no outbound. ATT said I needed to match the "browser-based" password with the smpt in the account settings within Mac Mail.
    Did it. —>quit—>restarted—>checked for password case sensitivity and even blind spaces. I got nothin'. I gotta say ATT tech's were consistently nice over the 4 hours I dealt with four people and in the end could offer no high level tech support as they are not familiar yet with Lion. I'm pretty techie, but the simple things here are mind melting me.

    Thanks for all of your responses.
    I redid everything you guys mentioned and at one point I got a message that it wasn't reaching the server. The option to "resolve to server" came up (which wasn't the default option) and I clicked it for the heck of it. Sure enough, it fixed the connection. Again, what was odd was that the deault was "try again".
    It's working fine now, but since I don't know what caused the disconnect in the first place, I'm hoping the connection doesn't break again, I accept a meeting, and it doesn't get added to iCal. You'd think there'd be a redundancy for .ics files where it would say:
    You have responded to an invite. Would you like to add to iCal?
    [Yes] [No]
    [ ] Never ask me again
    Or it would there would be an option in Mail that says "Display Calendar invites as [] Attachment [] Email."
    I know the preferences should take care of this, but meetings and appointments are important enough for this type of anal retentiveness.
    Thanks again fo rall your help.

  • Aol username/password not being recognized

    This is weird...I tried logging onto the iTunes store using my AOL login ID and password, but it throws up a message saying that the username and/or password is incorrect. It was working fine up until yesterday.
    I further checked to see if AOL (www.aol.com) recognized my password - and it did!
    Is something wrong with iTunes at the moment?

    I had the same problem. It drove me crazy. I then noticed that the first letter in my sign on was not in caps. I retyped it in and it worked. Example - dharp102 instead of how it was in aol DHarp102. Once I changed it I had no problems but have to change it everytime I log in using the aol username and password.
    Hope this helps.

  • Known freshly set firmware password, not being accepted on new MBP with retina. Locked out of bootmenu.

    Hello,
    I have a MBP 15" with retina display and 16GB of RAM.
    I bought it end August/early september and it has worked great so far, really happy with it.
    After encountering some people that have had theirs stolen, i figured it was a good idea to enter a firmware password so that people can't use external drives to boot up from.
    I just rebooted holding the alt key, clicked utilities -> firmware password and I set myself a password. It is one word, starts with a capital letter and has 2 numbers incorporated in it.
    I then immediately rebooted and held alt again to test it. I enter the exact same password (100% sure) and for some reason it just deletes the entered password when i click enter/the ok arrow and it does nothing.......
    Please tell me this is a known MAC problem, I am 100% sure i'm not going mad, but this kind of problem is annoying me! I have a dualboot windows 7 partition that I would like to continue to use without working virtually from within MAC OS X.
    Thanks, any ideas appreciated!
    Best regards,
    Nick

    Sigh i found it ....
    Apple you could have mentioned that you enter it as QWERTY instead of AZERTY -_- My letters were coincidently all the same, however the numbers need shift pressed in the latter which they don't in the former.
    Oh well, Back to enjoying my wonderful machine now
    Bye and sorry for the unnecessary read! Hope it helps some with the same problem.

  • DW CS4 - OS X 10.5.7 - Login and Passwords not being remembered

    Initially i had all my site definitions deleted  from DW CS4 and Contribute CS4 for no apparent reason (no crash or anything of note). Since then I cannot get my site login and password to remain after the application restarts.
    I did my inital research and found posts with similar problems but nothing seems to have worked for me.
    I have cleared all my old keychains from previous version (to no avail)
    I have also resorted to removing CS4 completely and running the CS4 Cleanup Utility  before re-installing as well, but the problem still exists.
    This is becoming a real problem as I have a lot of site definitions.
    Any ideas, suggestions.

    If you enter the wrong settings and request a certificate when none is required you'll have this problem.
    Apple Mail should enter all the setting correctly for Gmail and possibly Comcast. Make sure the User Name is the full email address in both receiving and sending settings. [email protected] and [email protected]

  • Username and Password Not Being Saved

    The option to save my username and pw is not coming up on my banking site, Wells Fargo. I get the option on other sites, I just set up FF.
