Password Not Working At Startup

We have a new server in our office that has been recently set up. But, now at startup, the password no longer works.
When you enter the password, the computer will "think about it" for about 30 seconds, then it will "shake" the password line, to symbolize that the incorrect password has been entered.
We've tried lots of different things to try to fix this situation including changing keyboards.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The only account that has authority for an LDAP node would be the diradmin account that is created on promotion to OD Master. If you wanted to create another Directory Administrator account you would have to create another account in either the local node or the /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 node and define it as such. This account can then be used to log into the server and administer it.
If the server is Standalone and not an OD Master and if accounts have been created that have not been made into admin accounts then the only accounts that can be used that allows login to the server as well as using SA and WGM is the System Administrator account created when installing the Server and root. Root will have the same password as the Administrator account. If you enable root on the client versions it has no password unless you set one.
I have seen something similar to what you've experienced. Firstly at a site that I support someone - the cleaner perhaps? Had disconnected/dislodged the ethernet cable. OK lets put it back in again and away we go. Unfortunately what happened was Server Admin and Workgroup Manager could not be logged into and the server had lost all communication with itself. Even when I could get the applications to launch everything was grayed out with much spinning of beachballs. Resetting passwords, removing Cache files, repairing privs/perms, removing plists from the LaunchDaemons folder did not make a difference. Had to rebuild the Server. Fine after that.
Secondly. I recently did a server install where the serial number has an expiry date. Install went well, entered the serial number, manually downloaded the 10.5.2 Server Update Combo, installed that, rebooted, logged in and found I could not use Server Admin at all in any way to configure any services. WGM was fine however. Had to reinstall the Server, use a serial number that never expires, do the update and then change the serial number.

    I bought a used G4 running 10.5.1. The computer was demoed while I was there. The password worked fine. I got home and stored the computer for two months. When I tried to set up the computer and use it, I found it to be really really slow and I decided to reinstall OS 10.5.
    I am an idiot and I tried to install the reinstall disc from my MacBook because I do not have any discs for this used computer. It did nothing, but rebooted and now, will not get past the Enter Password screen.
    I have tried the password in every possible combination. I have been with the previous owner on the phone who walked me through everything. He is also stumped. Nothing works.
    I have an Install disc for 10.5 but not the discs that came with the computer when it was new, if there were any.
    What are my options here? Do I have to buy a new harddrive and scrap the one that's in there? I am beyond frustrated with this. I really spent all my extra cash to purchase this used computer and now am too broke to do much else to get it going. It should be working anyway!

    first, the original owner should have given you the original disks that came with the computer. you should demand it from him. those disks are useless to him but could be useful to you as the contain ilife and apple hardware tests. secondly, the first thing you should do after getting a used computer us reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS from scratch. this will give you a clean system and give you complete control of the computer. anything else is simply not an option IMHO. I strongly suggest you do so now.
    you don't need original disks for that you can do it with a retail leopard disk, but not a disk for another computer as you tried. computer specific disks are just that - they are hardware specific and won't work with other computers. it is also against ULA to do so. lastly, when you boot from the leopard install dvd there is a password reset utility in Utilities menu which can be used to reset password of any account. but i suggest you use it only as a temporary measure and do erase and install after backing up your data first.

    Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Tap your ID and sign out. Reboot your iPad.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Go back to the settings and sign back in again and see of it works now.
    If it doesn't work, post back with some information that might help us help you. Describe what you are doing in some detail and it might let us better understand why this is happening.

    I got a MacBook Pro today. The previous owner had Apple wipe it clean for the new owner, me. When I first tried putting my wifi password in, I wasn't remembering exactly what it was, so I tried many different possibilities. Since then, I found my password in my office. I put it in, when it asked for it. But, it's not taking it. It just says searching for networks. And, this is after I identified the correct network. So, I am wondering if perhaps after a number of "tries" does it not accept ANY further attempts ? You know like Banking passwords....you get locked out. I'm wondering if I'm locked out? 

    No, not like a bank timeout.
    Open keychain in your Utilities Folder and look for old router password, or delete wrong passwords.
    You can always reset your router password to something new that you can remember.

    Hi I have had nothing but problems today I think my account has been hacked.  Couldn't log in to Skype on PC or iPad kept saying my password was incorrect, though same password I have always had.  I changed my password by having Skype send me a new one to my email.  I activated it and created new password and all good.  IN the middle of a call it shut down suddenly and when I tried to log on again, it said it didn't recognise the password I only just created that had worked already.  Kept trying and still nothing. So I went to create a THIRD password and now skype is saying my email address doesn't exist.  I have had this account for years and they only just sent me a new password to that email address so it certainly does exist.  Left for a few hours and now tried again and it says i have tried too many times today.  I have actually tried to create  new account to be able to use skype.  Can anyone explain what is happening? I am currently scanning for viruses but i really want to be able to use my old account with all my contacts on it rather than start from scratch!  My mother in law is having the same problem with her account so I wonder if it's a virus??  At the same time I have started receiving a bunch of emails from 'skype' in Chinese so I assume this is connected somehow?  Please any ideas on how to fix this?!

    What iOS level?
    What make, model, and version WiFi router are you using?
    What router firmware level?
    What type of security do you have configured? WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.

    If the iPhone isn't accepting the Restrictions passcode (which can differ from the normal access passcode), you'll need to restore the device.
    If you lose or forget your Restrictions passcode, you'll need to perform a factory restore to remove it.

    To change the iCloud ID ("email") you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Where is your UME running? On the java engine, on an ABAP system or at a LDAP?
    What i want to say is that your user has to gain the rights to connect to the SLD. Easiest way is to give you admin rights - to do that you have to know where your userstore is running....
    I am not sure if this is correct http://localhost:50000/sld
    Normally it should look like http://my.sap.com/56600/sld where my.sap.com is a fqdn and 56600 is the port of the java engine. 66 ist the system number of the as java.
    ZBAPI? I do not really know but i think you have to use a jco to connect...

    Does the keyboard work fine inside the BIOS?
    Also try booting from LiveCD of Ubuntu, if issue remains then the keyboard is faulty.

    You went wrong at the very beginning by not erasing the hard drive of a used computer before starting to use it yourself. I suggest you do that now.
    Back up all data to at least two different storage devices.
    Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup), launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup volume. This operation will destroy all data on the volume, so you had be better be sure of your backups. Install OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
    When you reboot, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups. For a walkthrough, see here:
    Using Setup Assistant
    Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled on the old system.
    Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.

    In SAP ME 6.0 SP01 6.0.1.0 Counter 40, the activity "Change User Password" does not work for me or any other user.
    The activity window (Netweaver) shows, but in the top it says "An error occurred - contact system administrator".

    Hi,
    Change User Password screen is in fact user self services screen of NW UME and to access it, user must have Manage_My_Password action. Installation and Security Guide ask to assign this action to all roles.
