Password-protect a folder within a PDF Portfolio?

Is it possible to password-protect an individual folder within a PDF Portfolio?  (I don't want the password to apply to the Portfolio as a whole).

You can protect the PDF documents.

  • Add a watermark to multiple files within a PDF Portfolio in Acrobat X Pro?

Can I add a watermark to multiple files within a PDF Portfolio in Acrobat X Pro? If so, how?  It appears as though it is a removed option.

I've figured this out. (kind of) not using PDF Portfolio; where you could apply watermark to multiple files in Acrobat 9.
I'm answering my own question in case there are others looking to add a watermark to multiple files.
Step 1: Open a single file
    Step 2: Tools>Pages>Watermark>Add Watermark
Step 3: In bottom of Watermark Edit Box, Select "Apply to Multiple"
    Step 4: Select "Add Files
    etc etc.

  • Progmatically save to password protected network folder

I am looking to save a file to a password protected network folder.  I tried using the standard Write Text.vi to see if a dialog would pop up, but it did not.  There is not an ftp server running on the networked computer, so I dont think that will work.
The IT department directions to the folder say:  Go to Start> Run and enter url \\computername\folder\subfolder\...  and a dialog will appear to enter username and password.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks

Well this is what we do. Run--->(doubleslash(\\) computername slash(/) d$)
Eg: \\pc48\d$ .When you get a popup(U should) type the username and password of the that computer having admin rights.
That simply reiterates what the IT department originally told the poster to do, except that you're using the administrative share.

To do this you will need to delve into the Windows API. You can also use .NET to perform impersonation. Most of the examples that are on the internet are based on .NET 1.1 and it's probably easier to simply create yourself a custom class that you can call using a single method rather than trying to put all the .NET code into LabVIEW. An example of using impersonation (though there are lots of them) can be found here.

  • Is there a way to just password protect a folder instead of Home?

Is there a way to just password protect a folder on your computer?

    No.
You would need to create a password protected (encrypted) diskimage using Disk Utility. For details use the search page for other discussions.

  • Password Protect a Folder

    Hello,
is there a way to password protect a folder?
    THX
    Ben

Almost. You can open "Disk Utility", then File > New > Disk Image From Folder. Choose the Folder you want to "password protect", then click Image. In the next dialog box, choose one of the two types of encryption (not none!). Also choose a name for the disk image, and click "Save". You will be prompted for a password for the disk image. Now you have made a copy of the Folder you wanted to password protect, and it will have a dmg extension. To eliminate the original Folder, drag it to the Trash and then "Secure Erase" the Trash. To use the new password-protected disk image, double click it and type in your password. In fact, you probably won't need to remember the password for the disk image itself, because it will be stored in your keychain. Rather you will need to type in your usual login password so that disk utility can retrieve the image's password from your keychain.
    Two comments:
    1. You may not want to secure erase the original folder until you are sure the disk image works!
    2. I don't have a lot of experience with this, so I can't promise the disk image will be writable, and not read-only.

  • My suggestions:: 001 - Password Protected Pictures Folder

since the iPhone is a device that everybody seems to want to touch... it follows that it would be nice to be able to have a secured folder within the Pictures folder that is passowrd protected so I can move pictures there that I dont want just anyone looking at... (i.e. (for the sickos out there... pictures of things I may be planning on getting for christmas for wife and kids... etc.)
right now it is wide-open, for anyone that doesn't understand that a phone is something personal, to see... gosh!!!

  • Is there (or could be) and option to password protect a folder in a mailbox list in Thunderbird? One click, no encryption or additional programs.

In your mailboxes you have folder trees. I would like to have a password protection for one of them, so when somebody clicks on the folder 'Accounts', it asks for a password to see the contents.
No master passwords or passwords for the whole inboxes. I don't want to input a password 10 times a day when i open up TB. Just when i click on a specific folder that may have some emails inside, that should be protected from view.
Just simple, one click add password, enter password, see contents. No encryption or additional auxiliary programs.
Has somebody already done that or could do as a built in feature or and add-on?
    Thank you!

Well, if you don't encrypt it, chances are the mail store files themselves will be readable in any text editor.
This add-on offers some password capability: https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/profilepassword-en.html
There is also a config editor setting that requests a password. See this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Protecting_the_contents_of_the_profile_-_mail and specifically, "Note: You can password protect the contents of the message pane by setting mail.password_protect_local_cache to true using the configuration editor in conjunction with setting a master password in Thunderbird."
However, I believe that both of these work at an account level rather than on specific folders. And both offer trivial and weak protection.

  • How can I password protect imbedded folders within an iWeb-created website?

I have read that iWeb will not allow you to password protect individual imbedded content (ex. individual albums or pictures), but, that you can only protect the whole site. I have also read on here that the password protection for the site isn't very good and is easily broken.
Short of creating multiple pages (each password protected) and then linking all the private pages to a public page, is there any easier way to password protect individual items of content rather than the whole site, preferably in a way that can't be "broken" in terms of bypassing the password?
Maybe I need to use a different application to create the website? If so, recommendations?

What kind of content? If you use PDF files you can password protect them when you create them. The same goes for Word documents.

  • How do I Password-Protect a folder

I have a folder in my Documents area that I would like to password protect. Can someone give a little guidance how I can encrypt it so no-one but I can access it?

Click here and follow the instructions followed by placing the folders and files on the image; if the password is in the keychain, it will be supplied whenever you're logged in.

  • Can you create a table of contents for the documents within a PDF Portfolio?

If I create a pdf portfolio that contains multiple documents (e.g. Word, multiple PDFs and Excel documents), is there a way to create a table of contents at the beginning of the portfolio to help navigate to the individual documents?

    Hi,
The Files list displays a list of files, so the user can quickly see all the files in the portfolio with any information you want to share; title, description, file type, size etc.
Or, you can also use a different layout, for example, the Linear and use the space next to each file to describe it.
    Hope this helps.......

  • Password Protecting a Folder

    Hey Guys!
This is probably a simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer on my own. I am trying to set up a folder on a make shift sever from an iMac G5 Power PC running 10.3.9 that someone on an emac can back up files to. I would like to set it up where she will be the only one that will have access to this folder, meaning that someone cannnot go on the sever and access the folder.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank You!

Use Disk Utility to create a disk image with 128-bit encryption. Store your files inside of it and give only her the password.

  • Password Protecting An entire folder in documents?

I need to be able to password protect a folder within my Documents folder, as it contains very sensitive info. Does anyone know how to do this in pages '09? Thanks

Use Disk Utility to create a password-protected Disk Image - choose a size large enough to store all the documents you expect to put in it. Place this wherever convenient: double-clicking it will ask for a password and open the image (looking like an external hard disk) and you can copy your files into it. When you close it it will require the password to re-open it.
    Don't forget the password
