Password protect PC Suite

I am using the ActiveLock software to password-protect my phone apps, and this porgram has a list of almost all programs installed on phone (even the default ones) and I am wondering which is the name of the application which makes possible the connection to a pc via Nokia PC Suite to protect it with a password
in a few words I want to ask me for the password when i connect the USB cable

Sigh, you make it sound I DON'T know that lol.
Like I stated before, I'm very much aware this happens when I update the firmware. However, if the phone is restored with a backup containing the password after a firmware update, theoretically it will recognize the memory card just fine.
I don't know what password I set all those months ago and I spent a lot of time trying to remove it already with no success. I don't think I'll remember it anytime soon so just wondering if this theoretical method would work. Or would I either never update the phone or get a new memory card.
Just asking if the Nokia PC Suite backs the password that the phone remembers as part of the "settings" backup it does or not.

Password protected pdf file

Hi all, as a contributor to an e-book I received a pdf file with password-protected proofs. Of course I know the password to unlock the file.
Unfortunately on my system (Opensuse 10.2 + acroread 7.0.8 5/22/06) all I get is an error message stating that I should be connected to the internet to open this file and that my ability to open this document on line has expired.
This is quite strange, since I *am* connected to the internet via adsl. Needless to say that I can open the document under windows...
Can anybody please help me?

Not knowingly.
I looked in my Adobe updates and didn't see anything about it. I se that
there are updates available to just about every one of the products in the
Suite. Massive, if you do them all at once.
Are they really necessary? I didn't see anything in there about the help
viewer though.

Password Protected PDF using iTextSharp

i create pdf files using iTextSharp in vb.net .
i did it but now i need to create these pdf files as password protected and i can't find any method for this,
how can i create password protect a pdf using iTextSharp ?

That is better suited to itextsharp support, I don't think it is a vb net issue.

Password Protect a Pages document

How can I set a password protect on a document when saving it?

Another method is to save it as a password locked PDF.
From your open Document, Print,
click on the PDF dropdown
Save as PDF
Click Security Options and set a password.
Save.
Whether this suits your needs I don't know. I thought I'd throw it in there.

Password protect report output

We are generating the payslips of all employees as individual report outputs, saved as pdf files. Now we are planning to send the payslips as email attachments to all employees. Is there a way to password protect all these 1500 files togther,, but each with an unique password which is a combination of their employee number and dob?

I don't think there is any easy solution to this, but what we do at this site is schedule the Discoverer reports to run using the eBusiness Suite Concurrent Manager. We use dedicated Discoverer workstations to run the Discoverer exports and these could also be used to email the report if this was a requirement.
There is an article on my website (www.cabotconsulting.co.uk) about scheduling Discoverer reports using the Applications 11i concurrent manager and you can also search this forum for scheduling and email for information on how to email reports.

IWeb - Password Protect

It is now known that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features Lost Once MobileMe is Discontinued or if Publishing to an FTP Server:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

Forgot password protect on Pages (iPad)

I have a document in Pages2.0 password protected on iPad. However I have forgotten the password and can not open the document. Is there anyway to override the password or reset it?
Tried opeing the same document on MacBook but as I haven't updated to Mavericks, I cannot open it anyway as my version of pages is outdated...
Any advice for accessing this file?

1. The payslip passes thru SCOT
   settings,
   which in turn generates the PDF
   and sends mail.
2. SCOT does not provide any such facility,
   for password protection.
3. I don't think the password
   concept can be done in a normal fashion !

Password Protect Report Exports and Email

Hi there
My client's requirement is to automatically run, export and email reports with the report output (excel/word/etc) having password protection. Think this is possible with BI publisher, but wondering if there is any nifty way of doing this with Discoverer. For example now Discoverer is integrated with BI Publisher does this mean it's possible by creating report in Disco (potentially) then using BI Pub to automatically run, export and email results with pwd protection? Any other ideas??
This is an eBusiness Suite environment, Disco version 10.1.2, eBusiness Suite version 11.5.10 (they also have 11.5.8, but we don't believe we'll be doing this solution on tha environment).

Can the iOS version of Numbers use password protection yet?

We have the whole iWork suite on our macs, but (so far) just Keynote & Pages on our iOS devices. Before buying Numbers for iOS, I'm trying to figure out if Apple has gotten around to adding an option for password protection for Numbers documents. I know the earlier versions of Numbers for iOS did NOT have that capability, but I haven't found anything about the current version. Thanks!

Yes, it has! I opened up my new iOS version of Numbers and noticed a new Set Password option on the Tools popover list. I loaded one of my password protected spreadsheets into iCloud, and opened it in the new iOS Numbers. It prompted me for a password and let me in.
I made some changes then opened it on my Mac using the new version of Numbers there. Again, I was prompted for a password and everything worked as expected.
Also, on the iOS version, the Set Password option changes to a Change Password option if you're working with a password protected spreadsheet.

Password protect a single page on a site

Hi,
Please culd someone advise me on the best and simplist way of password protecting a single page on a site? I've done some research and there seems to be a fair bit of conflicting information. I just need anyone that clicks on a certain link to be prompted for a password and if possible be able to change the password on a monthly basis (i'd prefer it if my client could do this as well).

Below is a simple username/password page if you only have a handful of clients where a database is over-kill.
It uses php so your hosting provider will need to be able to handle php. This will work with any of the following combination of the username and passsword.
Pink, Elephant
Blue, Sky
Fat, Pig
You can change the usernames and passwords in the php code below to suit yourself and you can add addtional usernames and passwords to the php. You can change the url they will be sent to once they enter the correct combination of username and password.

Creating app with password-protected folios to restrict who can read content

I have a customer who wants to put business-sensitive content onto iPads for a specific department. It's important that competitors can't see this content, so it can't be available freely through the app store.
Is it possible to distribute a Folio file as a stand-alone app without it being readily available to the public (and competitors) through the app store?
If not, is it possible to create an app for the App Store, and password-protect the folio file within it, either by requesting a password on load or by including a password block on the first page within the InDesign design?

How can I protect my data in numbers from unintentional user of my iPad by other family members? In other words, how can I password protect my numbers and other apps from apple computer company?

I have other members of my family use my iPad for educational/recreational use, young children who may want to play kid games. I don't want them to accdently get into my data stored in the three business apps from apple. I would like to password protect these files.
I would also like to log out of the email systems that I use, so some one else can use this device to access their own emails. By leaving my accounts open al the time, is really asking for trouble from a host of sources.
I can't believe that the iPad is not designed to protect the privacy and data from prying eyes ... Un intuitional as it may be.
Please fix this issue so I create my info on this device and enjoy it fully. Or tell me how I can protect my data.

Thanx for your response. Any data stored anywhere should be able to be protected from stealing, malicious destruction or unintentional destruction. Theo ad an be stolen and without any kind ofpassword protection, the thief could get into your sensitive data.
If Apple wants iPad to become a business tool that can be used with ideas, thots, data protected, then Apple needs to provide this protection to it's customers. Now it's unto the users to use it or not.
I know iPad is being considered to be used by doctors, and can u imagine the confidentiality requirements of HIPPA rules... It will make this device not usable without data protection. I am sureweall have heard about hacking going on at all levels. It's surprising that this device's software is left unprotected.
My iPad may be sitting on my desk and my 3 year old grand daughter would pick it up and start "playing" with it. That means I can't store anything on this machine that may possibly be changed.
I have discussed this with specialists in apple stores, and those who have been around info technology understand my concerns and they may forward this request further up. They do not have the answer for it..... So far.
I think data security should be everyone's concern... Be it a one person device or multiple user device.
