Password remembering turned off

Not fixed I read another post on the same subject.
Will follow this . Look for the topic : "can't save my password for websites; invitation to save doesn't come up".
I upgraded to 3.6.8.
When i log in on specific sites my login name is remembererd , not the password.
Passwords are still there ( saved passwords), tried to install the option 'remember passwords etc' but no luck ( every time I checked whether the option is still there its gone).
I even deleted the phishing options from Bitdefender.
I tried to install the 'old version' 3.5, same results.
All the privacyoptions are like they should be.
No luck , no big deal, just a little annoying

When I type the first character of the login name, it will be remembered, wonder if that is a cookie, could be.
Thanks for the suggestion, it doesn't work unfortunately.
Also when I try ( tools/options/security/remember password ) next time I choose the same option my selection vanished. So remembering passwords isn't possible.

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPad and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Can't get through ipod touch 5g password without turning off 'find my iphone'

    hi!
i have a big problem. so when i was so sick and tired of my sister fooling around with my ipod touch (5g) i changed the password of it. then after a few while, i checked on it then opened it, to find out that the password i entered is incorrect. i started to remember that i changed it. ( swear, i have amnesia when i am angry/****** off) so.. i researched for possible solutions. then i found out that i need to use iTunes so i did. it told me to 'turn off find my iPod touch' which i can't do because my ipod is locked. so, i did some more 'researching' . what it told me to is to go to icloud.com/#find and remove the device etc. etc. and i followed it. BUT for some reasons, i just clicked delete.then remove from account. i thought that it would help it so i went back to iTunes and did the same process but surprisingly, it still tells me to ' turn off find my ipod touch' which i can't do because when i wen't back to icloud.com/#find , i saw a message saying that there's no device registered to my account. i have nothing left to do but to just ask here. btw, iOs 8.1.2 thanks in advanced

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • I had to change my apple ID due to someone else using it and changing the password, so now i can't sign out of icloud as the email is wrong and i dont have the password to turn off find my iphone. Help!

Basically, someone was hacking my apple account for a while and kept changing the password so i kept resetting it, now i've had to change my email as icloud still wouldn't accept my new passwords - even after being updated. Now i can't sign out of icloud due to it being the wrong email and an unknown previous password, as i can't turn off find my phone.ipad. How do i solve this without losing everything as i can't just delete the account and the usb ports on my laptop have gone so i can't back up to my laptop. I'm running completely on icloud but desperately need it to update so i don't lose all my uni work as well off my ipad.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • Want password function turned off at start up.

Having problem finding help for a simple bit of info. I simply want to turn off the password function so that when I boot up, the enter password window doesn't request for me to enter my password. Simply don't need this security function. Please help!

Didn't work. As you said, I opened the Security pane, clicked the lock to open it, unchecked the box that says "Disable automatic login", clicked on the lock again. Then went to Accounts pane, unlocked the lock, clicked "Login Options". By "specify" your account at the top, I assume you mean click on my name in the top left column which says "My Account" in gray above my name, then has my name, which is NOT gray, then underneath that it says Admin, which is gray? The only thing that changed is now it is asking for my name and password when I start up.

  • Why won't network require password to turn off/on?

After updating my os to 10.8, I cannot lock network.

    Update.
The only way I can get the wifi connection to ask for a password (when turning on and off)  is by making a non-admin account and of course logging into it.  I am required to use admin credentials to turn wifi on or off.  However the logic seems off for this not to work as an admin if the admin requires these credntial to turn wifi on and off, and as an admin it has worked before.   LOL nevermind.  I jsut tried again... and no password required.  Brand new user.  Only keychain access is for the airport base station itself..  OK EDit again... just tried to disconnect and it asked for a password.  I wonder how long an admin password is good for... AND EDIT AGAIN.  Turned it off and on with no password again. ..... I guess the wifi service asks for a password when it feels like it. LOL

  • Passwords and turning off

so my friends keep turning off my computer by hitting the power button and enter. is there a way i can set a password for this

If they locked out changes to accounts in the Restrictions so that you can't get in to turn off Find My iPhone, you'll need to erase the devices via iCloud per these instructions:

  • Password to turn off iPhone for security reasons

I live in Mexico City and we get our iphones robbed a lot, my suggestion is that the password could also block turning off the phone so we can use "find my iphone". It would certainly increase the security for us. What do you think?

Not normal.  For right now don't turn your printer off (it goes into an extremely low power mode after a few minutes, anyway).  There should be an update that will address this issue soon.

  • I changed my iCloud account ID but my new phone won't let me change it. It keeps asking me for for my old ID password and won't let me delete the account unless I turn off the find my phone feature. It won't let me do this because it will not accept my ol

I changed my ICloud account  ID but my new phone won't let me change it unless I put in my old password and turn off the find my phone feature. But the phone will not recognize my old password. Can someone help me?

New iPhones don't come setup with an Apple ID/Password. What you're experiencing is called Activation Lock, & unless you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to first activate this phone, you won't be able to reactivate it.
You can login to iCloud.com, from any computer, use Find My Phone to locate & erase the phone. But, you'll still need to know the original Apple ID/Password to reactivate it.

  • Why the iphone and Ipad if you have a password and you try turning off the password does not ask you to turn it off?

my girlfriend stole his iphone 5 and could not find my iphone locate because they turn it off.
my question is, if the iphone 5 have a password to access does not ask why when I try to shut down?
apple should of IOS patching to ask for the password to turn off the device.

I see your point but if they are running iOS 7 on the iPhone they can locate it next time it is connected to the internet. Whoever has the iPhone cannot stop this without turning Find My iPhone off which requires the Apple ID password.
At some point in time that person will connect the iPhone to the internet and when they do the owner will have a location, if they restore the iPhone in recovery mode they won't be able to activate it so the iPhone will be useless to them.

  • I have an old internet address on my phone and cannot turn off find my phone to delete the icloud or setup new address how could i correct this

How do i delete my icloud account off an iphone as i cannot remember my password for the account and it wont let me turn off the find my phone

Unfortunately, you need the the password to turn off "Find My iPhone". I suggest to visit the following website to reset the password of your old Apple ID, so that you can turn of Find My iPhone.

  • I want to delete an iCloud account from my iPhone. It says I have to turn off 'Find my iPhone'. I can't do that because the applied on the iPhone is an old one to which I don't have access anymore. What do I do?

For some reason the iCloud account on my iPhone has reverted to an old Appleid. I now can't get rid of it for the above reason--I can't turn 'Find my iPhone' off since that old appleid is no longer active and I don't have access to the email address since its from an old job. I am in a catch 22. I can't move for

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
