Password reminder: Make safari forget "Never for this site" setting

Hello,
Today by mistake I clicked on the button "never remember passwords for this site" by mistake. How can I revert back to the old settings? It's the login page of my company's webmail site and find it extremely annoying to enter a long address now everytime I need to log in (I get logged out every 15 mins).
There are no security issues, by the way. I'm the only one on my computer and always locked the screen when aaway.
thanks.

Hi Jose
Go to your Utilities folder and open Keychain Access. Enter the site in the search panel, then delete the relevant ones. Quit Keychains. Back to Safari. Open the site, then answer the password prompt.

    * Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode. In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links and disabled and not available.
    * You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed.
    * You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
    * To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting '''Firefox will: Use custom settings for history'''

  • How do I save passwords when I initialy told it "never for this site"?

I have several sites that I want to save the password for, but when the prompt first showed up I clicked on "never for this site" and now I want to change to remember but the prompt doesn't show up and I don't know where to find it.

Remove the site from the exceptions: Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions

  • I changed my mind after selecting "never for this site" and now want to save a password.

I declined to save a password by selecting "never for this site" the first time I went to the site. Now, I want Firefox to remember the password. I can not find a way to a add or save the password. Can you help?

If you choose Never then Firefox creates an exception.<br />
You can remove that site from the exceptions:

    Whn asked save this password
three choices, I meant to choose "not now" but accidentally checked "never for this site" How do I change settings?

Some sites like PayPal, Yahoo, Windows Live and bank sites use autocomplete="off" to prevent Firefox from saving and filling the name and the password.
If a site uses autocomplete="off" then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove that autocomplete attribute and Firefox will offer to store the name and password.

  • I must have accidentally hit "NEVER FOR THIS SITE"

I must have accidentally selected "NEVER FOR THIS SITE" when i logged in to hotmail. I would like to reverse that. Now when i try to log on hotmal the autofill option is greyed out. How can i reset it so that i can ALLOW autofill to work for hotmail log on

Total shut down Safari by double clicking the home button to access your multi-task window then hold your finger on the Safari icon until it starts to wiggle and a red minus sign is in the left corner, tap the red minus sign.  Then reopen Safari and give it a try. If that don't work try turning off autofill in the settings window then turn it back on.

  • I have entered website then while logging in i have selected "never for this site" & now i want it to remember username & password...so tell me the way to proceed ?

    SHRENIK BHANDARI,

You can try to use "Forget About This Site" in the History (right-click context menu in Library or sidebar) to remove all data from a website including possible exceptions.

  • For remembering passwords I once clicked "never for this site" on a site, and have changed my mind and I want Firefox to remember the password for this site. How do I go in and reset the settings to change this?

My Firefox is set up to delete cache, and all history upon closing. But when I restarted my Firefox, or manually deleted everything, nothing worked. Is there a way to reset these? Or do I have to completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Even that might not work though.

Try creating a new Profile. See [[Profiles]].
You can recover existing passwords, bookmarks etc., from the current Profile and move them to the new one. See: [[Managing Profiles]]

  • FF4 keep asking me to "save password" even if i already pick the "never for this site" option... any solutions?

    just that

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • How do I go back and ask Firefox to remember a password if I accidentally clicked "nefer for this site" when first prompted?

    It's pretty much self explanatory.

Go to Preferences under Firefox menu (maybe "settings" for windows) and click 'Security'. Under 'Passwords', after "Remember Passwords for sites" is an 'Exceptions' button, click that and you'll get a window "Exceptions — Saved Passwords".
Look down the list, click the website you want to save password for, & click 'Remove' button. The next time you log into that website, you will be asked again if you want to save the password. See screen-shot below.

  • How do I save the password for a site for which I have chosen the "never remember password for this site" option?

The first time you enter a password for a site a box pops up under the address bar that has a picture of a key and then the question: "Remember this password?". In the drop box, I chose the option "Never Remember Password for This Site". I can't figure out how to change it so that the password IS remembered.

It sounds like the printer is still trying to retain the old network information.
    Try a Hard Reset:
    * Unplug printer while unit is turned on
    * Unplug other end of power cord from the direct wall outlet
    * Wait 30 seconds
    * Plug unit back up for power
    Reset Network information to Default:
    * Press the Wrench/Setup menu button in the top right of the touch display of the printer
    * Select the Wireless menu option
    * Scroll down to Restore Network Defaults
After restoring the defaults, then try running the Wireless Setup Wizard. Let me know if the unit still does not retain the information.

  • How to undo the "never store password for this site"?

A friend did this on my computer on a site where I'm very frequently logging in.
How can I erase this preference just for this site, i.e. I want Safari to ask me again whether I want my password stored and then answer yes.

Safari > Preferences > AutoFill > User names and passwords: Edit...

  • When initially entering a website password FF ASKS "SAVE PW FOR THIS SITE?" I have now CHANGED the website PW, and cannot get FF to "forget" the old PW and then save the new one!

I changed my GMail password the other day. I now have to type it in every time I access my mail as I cannot get Firefox (v.3.6.3) to ask me "Remember PW for this site?" (as it always AUTOMATICALLY does when FIRST entering a website password). Why does FF not automatically offer the "Save PW?" option AGAIN when one CHANGES the access PW of a site previously visited? Can one "force" a password to be remembered?

If the name stays the same and you only need to change (update) the stored password then fill the name in the login form and let Firefox fill the wrong password.
You may have to press the Tab key to fill the password field.
If you replace the wrong password with the new password then Firefox should offer to store the new password.
Use the ''Remember Password'' bookmarklet on websites that use "autocomplete=off" to prevent Firefox from saving passwords.
You can verify that Firefox has stored the new password: Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
If that didn't work then remove that name and password and Firefox should offer to save the new password on the next visit or if you refresh the login page.

    Thanks

    Hi Di Wal,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I see you want to share your photo book to other devices. You can share the Photo Book, but honestly, it will look bad because it is formatted for publishing a book. A better option for you might be to create and share a slide show. See these two articles for how to do that:
iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Create a slideshow
iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Share your slideshow on the web
