Lets start with the BIOS.
After 3 failed passwords you will receive a code.
Post that code
I can generate the master for you.

  • BIOS password removal on Tecra M11-11M

I have a Toshiba Tecra M11-11M which has been password locked. I have stripped the notebook and removed the BIOS battery for 10 min but the password still remains ie on the screen it still reads PASSWORD- ****.
There is no way to enter the BIOS via any key combination.
There are no markings or letters on the motherboard whatsoever ie: C35-C36 or J12-J13 to short out which would in most cases remove the password and allow access to the BIOS.
Any techies out there with any ideas would be much appreciated.
Some people asking for help with a bios password are not thieves but just forgetful fools.

As far as I know Toshiba uses several methods for BIOS password removal. On business machines like Tecra or Portege the method is not the same as on Satellite models.
BIOS battery removal maybe works on desktops but not on mobile machines.
Mobile machines must have better protection due to fact that can be pretty easy stolen and it is very important to prevent fraudulent use.
    > Some people asking for help with a bios password are not thieves but just forgetful fools.
Thats correct but you cannot expect that BIOS password removal method will be described on public forum. Contact nearest Toshiba service provider and they will do this for you. All you must do is to show valid bill and prove that you are real owner of this Tecra machine.

  • Power on password removal?

A power on password is called a Bios password. You can go into the Bios and set it. Depending on the computer, there maybe just a user password or a supervisor password too. The password is there to prevent unauthorized people from accessing your computer or seeing your files. You can get the Bios password removed by going to a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider and having one of their Toshiba-trained techs remove the password. Two things to keep in mind. One, removing a Bios password is not covered under warranty, so expect to be charged. Two, have some sort of proof that the computer belongs to you. If you bring a computer and "can't remember" the password, how does the tech know that it wasn't stolen?

    No reason to be sorry.
Please do note though, as George mentions, discussions about security feature circumventions, which include password hacks/etc, aren't allowed per the Community Rules.
Since you haven't purchased the machine yet, you should ask the seller if they will be removing any BIOS passwords (power-on, HDD, supervisor) prior to shipping the unit. If they can't, or won't, the best advice is to stay away from the machine altogether. All of that said, the seller claims that the machine is only being sold for parts. So you'll want to keep that in mind.

  • IWeb password removal problem

I originally set password protection for my site via the function in inspector. I wanted to remove the password protection, so just unchecked the checkbox, made sure it was removed from all pages, saved and republished ...
    ... it didn't work!
Reading other threads here, I then emptied my cache, but that didn't fix it. I also asked somebody else who'd never accessed the site before to try accessing it, but it asked them for the username & password too!
Can anyone help me fix this?

Did you try "Publish ALL to .Mac" in the file menu?

  • Windows 8.1 password removal

Ok, I have tried autorun.exe, also tried :netplwiz" fixes that others have mentioned, but I still have to use a password, not for first start up, but when computer goes into hibernation....extremely frustrating.  Can anyone tell me what else
I can try, apart from removing windows 8.1.  Can I get rid of the email account log in? Not sure how to do that either, Thanks clever people :)

    Try those 2 settings:
    Go to the "Control Panel".
     Click on "Appearance and Personalization".
     Click on "Change Screen Saver".
Unclick "On resume, display logon screen".

    and
Just head into Power Options in Control Panel, then click the “Require a password on wakeup” on the left-hand side.
Then click the “Change settings that are currently unavailable” link…

  • W510 Power-On Password Removal: Additional Queries

    Dear Lenovo Community:
I am in the process of reconditioning my Lenovo W510 unit and I am trying to remove all the passwords that are in the system right now.
However, after I removed the supervisor password, the BIOS does not recognize the power-on password that I enter when I attempt to remove it. After 3 unsuccessful tries it locks out, and I reboot - only to find out that the power-on password is still in place.
My supervisor password is the same as the power-on password, so I cannot understand why it did not recognize the password when I tried to enter it.
I am tempted to perform the solution that the Lenovo W510 Manual provides to remove the power-on password, but I am concerned because I have yet to remove the User HDD password. While I understand that this password is embedded in the disk's firmware and not the motherboard, will "resetting" the BIOS interfere with the HDD password as well? I am concerned that although I do know the user HDD password, I do not want to be faced with the situation where after resetting the BIOS and removing the power-on password the option to remove the HDD password becomes gray out and the HDD will be gone forever. Will this occur?
Also, is the power-on password becoming "rogue" after the removal of the supervisor password a known issue? Is there anything being done to resolve this?
    Thank you,
    IT_Geek

    Go to Solution.

The hard disk password will not be affected by removing the power-on password. Passwords do not become rogue. As far as your symptoms, they can be explained perfectly if your power-on password was not really the same as your supervisor password. If you simply power on a machine with both a supervisor and power-on password, it will prompt for the power-on pw, but if you enter the supervisor pw, it will start ok.

  • Setup utility password removal on g61-511wm laptop

this was my neices laptop and her ex set a power on password which she knows but he also set a bios password. how do i remove it.

    Hi,
This is a peer to peer forum and as such, there is no official representation from HP.  You're asking for a way to bypass the bios password from the halt code generated which has obvious security implications, for example if the notebook had been stolen.  At the end of the day, the disclaimer is intended to seperate myself as a private individual, from HP.

  • G560 BIOS password removal

I have a g560 with a password on the BIOS. I have tried
    -removing CMOS
-altering the platform.ini on the new BIOS flash
-trying to find the hash and using a pw generator
I can boot up to windows 7 just fine. But when trying to perform any BIOS operations (boot menu, etc.) it asks for the password. If someone know the location of the eeprom for me to jump it or some other way to bypass it it would be much appreciated.

Hi rush_swope, welcome to the forums,
all the information that can be provided on BIOS passwords in these forums can be found in the Hardware Maintenance Manual also.

  • Firmware Password Removal - Details !

    Hello again!
Now the complete situation is here as under:
We, at university have a lab having Sun SPARC stations, Ultras and ultras2. All these stations have been set to take authentication from NIS Domain, which currently is unavailable. So these stations after booting stuck to the point, from where onwards they need to contact the NIS Server. They just keep on repeating the error message, "hme0 Link down? Cable Problem?" Now we want that that either we install fresh copies of Solaris on them, or at least make these stations functional. This Lab has remained closed for more than 3 years. The previous Lab administrator had firmware and root passwords set on these machines, who has left the university. Now the passwords to these machines could not be found!
In my personal opinion, we need to first remove the firmware (OBP) password somehow, to boot the system from CDROM drive and therefore install Solaris OE, or at least in anyway remove the NIS option.
Now suggestions needed, and help required ................Please !!

Seemed to me we got around this once by booting from a disk from a machine of like architecture that we knew the root pwd then unset the eeprom settings....I can't remember for sure, but it seemed like that worked.
