Password required for Apple ID....but email address changed since created. Password forgotten.

MY mum was just browsing the web when a message popped up saying....sing in to iCloud. enter the Apple ID password for (her email address). The problem is that she has changed her email address since creating her iCloud account. She can't remember the password anyway, but when it prompts her to change password if she can't remember it, it doesn't work because it obviously sends the link to that listed, but now old, email address. This message won't clear, so she can't do anything on her iPad. If she tries to cancel the message, it just pops up again.
any ideas gratefully welcome!

Does she have any way at all of accessing the old email account?

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you create a new iCloud account with a different ID your existing ID isn't effected by this. It will continue to work as it does now, you will just have an additional Apple ID. If you have an earthlink email address you can continue to use it as a separate account, and it can continue to be your default account if you set it to be (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account). If I'm misunderstanding your question, please explain further.

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

Could take anything up to 48 hours. I know it's a nuisance but they do try and are very busy. If you hear nothing 24 hours from now, send a reminder.

Everytime I attempt to use my Apple ID associated with iTunes with iMessage, iCloud, or Facetime, it tells me: 'Unable to verify email because it is already in use'. I've been playing around with it and find when I enter another email address other then the one associated with my iTunes account, it'll work. So it seems that my Apple ID will log me into the cloud (or whatever it may be), but I need another email address for the messages to be sent to? Perhaps somebody can clarify for me. The reset link will only send reset info to your rescue email address, an alternate email address is not used for account security. If you don't know what your rescue email address is (you won't be able to view/change it until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

I changed my account nearly a year ago and everything was fine, then about a month ago if the phone is rebooted (iPhone4S) it is constantly prompting me for a password for the OLD email password which I do not remember. When this do try to reset , it resets my new apple id. When is occurs it renders my phone useless as I cannot access even my phone even if I have to call emergency if there is one. It just keeps pooping up "Sign in to iCloud" PLEASE HELP

It is greyed out, so I can't change it. On researching further, it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address. Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

I am trying to set up iCloud on my various devices. When I log in with my iTunes (Apple id) it keeps coming back and stating
"Verify your account. This Apple ID's email address cannot be verified. Change your apple ids email address at appleid.apple.com to sig into i cloud"
My apple id has been alive and in use for years on iTunes etc. I have tried a different address and password and still get the same result

If your email address is valid, just go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click "Manage your account" to the right,sign in, click Name, ID, and Email Addresses to the left, then click "Verify now" next to your email address. Apple will send you an email to this address with a verification link. Otherwise add an alternate email address that can be verified.

Settings > iCloud > Account
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
