Password Reset on Device

How do I reset my password on my device?

if you're locked out on the 1st screen, only you know the password.
if you mean gmail, password recovery can be sent to your email & picked up on a pc, if you set it up.

As noted in iOS: Understanding Restrictions (parental controls) you will need to do a factory restore: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Z10 Device Password Reset

    Problem:
Hi, while trying to change my current picture password, I had to confirm my current device password which my password is continually dubbed incorrect for both my Blackberry device and Blackberry link. I currently am unable to access my phone and files and despite being 100% certain the password I'm entering is correct (it's worked in the past), I don't want to exhaust the number of login attempts.
    Problem History:
This is the second time this has happened, with all of my data being erased after the first time. I have tried resetting my password through my online profile, but the change does not affect either the phone or Link.
Is there a way I could reset my device password? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    There is no way:

Hello, I reset my device and I reset the password on Apple website, then I went to start over my device, but it gives me: “Incorrect Apple ID or Password”, though my ID and password are working perfectly on Apple site.

Thanks for your response. I'm a 100% sure that I have not bought stuff in the store with multiple IDs. At most I have switched the country stores as I have two credit cards from two different countries. The number of IDs showing up when I click skip are no less than 20-30 and counting. Not a single ID do I recognize in them except mine which shows up in between somewhere. Putting my password leads me to another enter your password screen for an unknown ID.
Is there anything that can be done?

  • Hi, My problem is I cannot connect my apple tv to my account, the user name and password are definitely correct, I upgraded the software, reset the device, but no chance. What should I do?

Hi, My problem is I cannot connect my apple tv to my account, the user name and password are definitely correct, I upgraded the software, reset the device, but no chance. What should I do?

    Try this:
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings  (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

  • Apple ID not found. I know it exists because last password reset was on 3/2012. Did Apple delete my Apple ID?

So first I was having trouble resetting my Apple ID password. Now I think it may have been deleted. e
I automatically got signed out of Game Center and Find My Friends for which I use a different Apple ID account for. I think this happened after I upgraded to iOS 6 but not sure. I've tried to reset the password on http://appeid.apple.com using the two options.
Option 1) I don't get the email verification in my inbox (looked everywhere, even spam folder. I even added the [email protected] address to my contacts to make sure it wasn't being sent to a spam box, etc.).
Option 2) I enter my birthday but I get a message that it doesn't match with the records.
So then I went through the steps to find my Apple ID if it existed and what do you know, it says "No Apple ID found".
Could my Apple ID have been deleted? I thought Apple ID's "could not be deleted"? I know this Apple ID does exist (or did?) because my last password reset was in March 2012. I still have the old emails to prove it. I'll be so annoyed if it got deleted and all my Game Center stats are erased. (I got 11,600,000 in Temple Run!)
    Other information:
I do have another Apple ID account which I use as my main account for purchases. For the rescue email and an alternate email address for this account, I use the email which is also the username of the other Apple ID account I am questioning about. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but just thought I'd put it out there in case it is.
Has this happened to anyone else? 2
I swear, this whole Apple ID nonsense started for me when trying to set up Facetime across devices on my macbook and ipad and had to make new apple ids. So confusing. Anyway, thanks in advance for any insight into this dilemma.

I'm having the same problem, what did you do?

  • Purchases page keeps crashing, I had to reset my device and I would to reload apps help

I had to reset my device after last software update, I got back some of my purchased apps but since it had been awhile since I actually synced to my PC i lost a ton. Like 300 apps. Every time I go to the "purchased" section of the App Store my device crashes back the home screen. Does the same thing on my ipad2. However my iPad 1 still running the old software will show me some but it also crashes after 5-6 pages worth. Is anyone else having this problem? Is Apple aware and will it be fixed? Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks

Did all of that - my apple account shows my updated email and password.  The problem arose when apple didn't recognize my password, probably my fault, and prompted me to update my password.  So I clicked on send an email to my account to reset my password.  The problem is that apple sent it to a defunct email.  But when I did the updated password it sent the confirmation to my current email.  So it's a bug in the system that appears to be unfixable...
But I still hate apple online support.  Most of the time I cannot get an answer to my question.  And no, these are not generally obscure questions (which my current issue may be).  It's like a poor search engine on a cheap website.  It provides a ton of results but none of them related to the actual query.  Perhaps apple could hire google to run their online help program...
Fortunately apple has the genius bar.  They always get to the heart of the issue and fix it rather quickly - and several apple profs have noted they continually hear that online help is an issue...

  • HT201303 Random Apple id password resets - how to stop this?

A couple of months ago I started getting emails from Apple titled "How to reset your Apple Id password" and then more worryingly "Your Apple Id password has been reset".  This happened several times over the next few days and I know this was not done by accident from me or my family because it was happening during the night UK time.  I reported to Apple support and they were no help, in fact they deactivated my account until I told them to reactivate it again!
To me it seems like someone (or some system) is triggering the password reset online when trying to access my account.
After reporting it to Apple it stopped for a couple of months - now it started again!  Several random resets during the night and day when I know no-one could be doing this from one of my devices.
Has this happened to anyone else?  Any good ideas how to stop it?  Any way to disable email authentication on the password reset and restrict to only the personal data questions?

    Hi marky_mark_uk,
Two-step verification might be a good idea for you if you're seeing a lot of password reset issues you did not initiate:

  • I changed my Apple ID but my iTunes hasn't updated so I can't access it...do I need to reset all devices to factory settings? or how else do I get the iTunes to link to Apple ID?

I updated my Apple ID primary email address without having switched off 'Find my....' on all devices. A 2 hour very helpful call with Apple Support solved ny Apple ID and ICloud. Later, I tried to update apps but my iTunes account is still on the old ID and I can't access that email/password anymore. I can't get a support appointment for 48 hours but need to update travel apps soon!
Do I need to reset to factory settings on all devices (5!) and start again...or how else can i get iTunes to link to my Apple ID now?
    Any help appreciated!

Thanks, David. But that was the first thing I tried. For some reason, when I try to change my Apple ID back to my old email address, I get the message that that Apple ID is already in use and so I cannot use it! I have tried requesting a password reset using my old Apple ID email, but I've waited and waited and nothing has come to my old email address. This is sooooooo frustrating!

  • Top 2 workable way to Create Windows 7 Password Reset Disk in any condition

This article describes how to create and use a Windows 7 password reset disk for a computer before and after you forgot the password. You can use Windows 7 password reset CD to gain access to your computer.
Scenario 1: I dont forget the password yet.
Windows 7 has its own backup feature, and you can proactively create a Windows 7 password reset disk before you forget it. With it, you can easily reset your Windows 7 password and get right into your PC.
Follow the easy steps below to create a password reset disk to your own Windows 7 account. Heres how:
Note that this procedure requires one blank, formatted floppy disk.
    1. Click on "Start"->"Control"->"User Accounts and Family Safety"->"User Accounts".
    2. In the task pane, click "Create a password reset disk". The "Forgotten Password Wizard" appears.
    3. Click "Next", and then choose the portable media drive.
    4. Click "Next", and then enter your current password in the next box and click "Next".
    5. Windows 7 begin to create the password reset disk on your chosen media. When the progress bar reaches 100% complete, click "Next" and then click "Finish".
    6. Now you can remove your device and store the disk in a safe place. Once you forget the password in the future, you can take it out.
Follow the easy steps below to use a password reset disk to recover Windows 7 password. Heres how:
    1. The created password disk can now be used during log-ins to reset the password. A reset password link appears on the account screen after an unsuccessful attempt to log in.
    2. Click on "Rest Password", and the "Password Reset Wizard" dialog opens. Here you need to insert the reset disk to the PC.
    3. Follow the wizard to type a new password twice to make sure you type the correct password. You are suggested to create a new password hint, so that you can remember the password with it if you forget it.
    4. Windows switches to the Windows log-in screen again where you can use the new password to log in.
Scenario 2: I have already forgotten the password.
If you have already forgotten your Windows 7 password but dont have a password reset disk at hand, you can choose another way to reset the password.
Here is how to create Windows 7 password reset CD/USB:
    1. This procedure needs a CD or USB flash drive. Insert your media device into another computer which can access to system as administrator.
    2. Launch Windows 7 password reset disk software. On the main interface, choose "reset Windows local account password".
    3. Choose your target device, and click "Burn" to start Windows 7 password reset disk creation.
Here is how to reset Windows 7 password:
    1. With this Windows 7 Password Reset USB software, boot the computer that you want to reset the password for.
    2. Under Windows PE, you enter the main interface of this software. Choose your Windows system, and select the user account you need to reset password.
    3. Click "Reset", and then "Yes" & "OK" sequentially to finish removing Windows 7 password.
Quite easy, isn't it? After fully control system password reset, you will never worry about your bad memory

  • Have been advised by my email provider (recently blocked account requiring password reset) that they will only reset the password after a proven anti viru and malware scan has been done on ipad and iphone. Is this necessary and if so what do i use

Have been advised by my email provider (recently blocked account requiring password reset) that they will only reset the password after a proven anti virus and malware scan has been done on ipad and iphone. Is this necessary and if so what do i use

As KP has pointed out, there actually aren't any anti-virus programs in the App Store. There are a few that allow you to scan e-mail or stuff like that, and a few that provide you with information about malware and new threats for other systems. But none are available that can scan your iOS device for malware, because the security restrictions in iOS do not permit any apps to have that kind of access to anything. Which means that you also cannot be infected with a virus (unless you have jailbroken your device).
If your account got compromised, that had nothing whatsoever to do with your iPad. Someone simply hacked it remotely. Happens all the time. It's really amazing that, in this day and age, e-mail providers are so ignorant of technology and how their own systems get compromised that they would try to require you to run software that does not exist!

  • Blackberry ID Password reset email doesn't contain a link to reset password!

I'm having the same issue that this guy had in this forum (which doesn't seem to have a solution?): http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/Blackberry-ID-Password-Reset/m-p/1745415#...
Basically, I'm trying to reset my Blackberry password for my Blackberry Curve. I get a password reset email when i request it, but the email does not contain a link to reset my password. The ENTIRETY of the email is as follows:
"This email has been automatically generated. Please do not reply to this email.
If you have not previously indicated that you wish to receive emails from Research In Motion Limited and/or its affiliated companies regarding exclusive offers and updates about BlackBerry products and services and you would like to do so, please click here.

Does anyone know what the problem is? It's not my web browser distorting the email -- i've tried retrieving the email from Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That is very strange indeed...with only 2 possible causes I can think of.
    1) Your email app (on your PC) is blocking the link that is included in the email...many email apps will do this and sometimes you must override them. If you have an alternate interface to use (e.g., GMail webmail interface versus Outlook), then try the other and see if that helps. Depending on the email environment (e.g., private corporate email system), it is also possible that some gateway along the path is stripping out the necessary link(s) as a security measure.
    2) The reset email facility is actually broken, and the email does not contain what it is supposed to. If that is the case, then it requires formal attention from RIM. The only way to achieve that is for you to contact VZW and have them escalate your case into RIM.
    Good luck!

  • Email server password reset

I have Verizon Email on my phone, ipad, web-based (yahoo/verizon.net) and outlook iook.com.  At one time all were working but I think I reset a password and then only a few worked.  I have tried new password on all, changed back to the old password on others and didn't touch settings on ipad but can't seem to get them all working again.  I would like to start fresh with a password reset so I can set up accounts on all devices again and try to remedy this frustrating issue.  I have most recently reset the password again to try setting up my Email on my phone only to receive  a password authentication error. I have set up before with success so I know I am setting up correctly and just a very frustrating password issue.  I am also OK with deleting my primary Email account and setting it up again within the account if I have to.  I just want this fixed so that I have my personal Email on all of my devices working properly and without frustration!

try doing one computer at a time.  don't rush it.   have you checked all the settings are correct in outlook.
I know Verizon recently changed settings for their mail servers.

  • Password Reset

Almost every time I have to update ANYTHING on my MacBook Pro the App Store doesn't recognize my password and I have to change it. Is this normal, or is it supposed to happen?
