Password reset - over and over and over

I have reset my password no less than 5 times this evening. Every time I reset it, I can not log into skype. I can log into Live.com once and then even that says I have entered the wrong password. I created a new account and got logged in. Then I went to another computer and try to log in with same password and it rejects it. This is a nightmare and I am very frustrated !!

Have you changed the email address associated with the Apple ID? I did, and learned the hard way that it caused a lot of problems. I had to delete that ID and create a new one, then it caused problems with iCloud because of my old email address. If that's not the case, you might need to set up a new Apple ID altogether. Sounds like a pain, but it's not too hard, and you only need to create a new email address. You can also set up new security questions for the new ID and it should be recognized when you enter the information in iTunes, the App Store, etc. If that doesn't work, I recommend calling Apple and explaining the situation. Encryption algrothim used for Password reset question and answer

We are trying to write a custom interface to the Password reset service.
The interface is supposed to allow the user to enter a question and answer, then using SAM SDK write the value to the iplanet-am-user-password-reset-question-answer.
The problem is SAM saves the values encrypted, so do any one know the encryption algorithm used and what is key or they are specified.

Proxy Servers, Password Resets/Expirations and Password Policies

Our current configuration has two directory proxy servers and two directory servers, all running DSEE 6.3.1. The LDAP clients point to the proxy servers and the proxy servers point to the directory servers.
When the LDAP clients user the proxy servers, users aren't notified on password resets or expirations. When I point one of the LDAP clients directly at on the directory servers, bypassing the proxy servers, the expected behavior of being required to change a password on reset or notification of password expiration works fine.
We would like this to work via the proxy servers as well. Can anyone point me in a direction or two to determine why this isn't working as expected ?

I opened a service call on this and in speaking with the rep, who was reading the CR mentioned in the first reply, he said it contained a note about the fix being scheduled for release in DSEE 7.x. I'm not sure if it made it into the recently released 7.0 or not.
A patch released for the 6.3.1 proxy servers on the 21st of December didn't include mention of the CR in the notes, although there was mention of another CR that sounded like it might be related.
Since it appears the CR was created in late November, I'd be surprised if either the DPS 6.3.1 patch or the 7.0 full release address the CR. In either case, I'm assuming you'll have to wait if you don't have a support contract with Sun that covers DSEE.

I read your emails couple of time, but I am not clear, on what you are trying to do.
Are you trying to create a new user, who should reset its password after he/she logs on the first time ? If this is the case then you can achieve it by specifying the password policy in Directory server.
But then again, I might have missed your question.

Windows Server 2000 Advanced - Administrator Password Reset/Recovery

I took over tech job for church that has Windows 2000 advanced server environment that has mirrored hard drives...Previous tech or person that installed server does not want to play nice with the administrator password and changes have to be made...I
do have an account without administrator privileges but that does not help...so I attempted to reset or blank the administrator with a password reset disk and was not successful...when the partition mounts (while using reset disk) it shows that the
password has been blanked (*BLANK*) but it still does not work...I've also tried putting the hard drives in a regular desktop, used the password reset disk and administrator password showed to be blanked, so I blanked it again for
safe measure, replaced the drives in server and was still not successful...please advise

that did me no good as I was still not able to make changes to the domain because (you may already know) Active Directory is not available in DSRM (it says to logon with domain administration rights)...my goal is to obtain domain
administrator access in order to make changes: add/remove users and computer account (which is the password the previous tech will not provide)...since this is such a small domain do I need restore Active Directory to reset or get domain administrator
access? Authoritative Restore? Which method, as a system state backup has never been done?...please advise

Has anyone else had a problem with receiving password reset authenticate emails to the email its supposed to go to but doesn't??

I cant sign on to my main Itunes account so i try to authenticate by security question but its not a familiar one, its one that i have never used on anything but i go along and try every birthday in my huge family and nadda...so i try to go the way of the email authentication,this is where it gets a little more interesting...I send it off and it says ok go get it and i go and look and nothing. now i try this several different times and same thing but i have a reciept from 11/11/11 for music i purchased just 3 days earlier, but now its not working, so i try to get a reset on another account, another email address, still connected but not used and i send off the authentication and SLA-BAM...its right there in a spilt second. so whats the problem. I'm no expert, but theres something rotten in Denmark! I only got to get to where i actually got an email off to costumer support and that was a maze of redirects that really just confused the issue, AOL costumers call ! 800 BLAH BLAH to have the AOL overseas operator tell me I am an IDIOT for thinking AOL and ITUNES where in anyway connected likethat and i would have to contact Itunes support....I DID....THAT WHO TLD ME TO CALL YOU!!! If you aren't receiving password reset emails and your security questions don't work, someone has hijacked your account.
This happened to me.
You need to use Expresslane to contact iTunes support to regain access to your account ASAP.

After adding this login module to ticket stack , It was working fine for existing portal users.
Issue is with new portal users logging in for first time, It was skipping through initial password reset scenario and giving access to the portal content

EDQ 9.0.7 - "Password reset"

This is the synopsis of the issue -

OS - Windows 2008 Server
EDQ - 9.0 media pack using V37924-01 zip downloaded from e-delivery today
After the install went through successfully I invoked the Launchpad, to re-set the password using dnadmin/dnadmin[ as per documentation]. It said "Password Expired" in Red, but did not prompt the usual old password, new password dialog. When I now enter a new password for example [ "director1", which works on a Windows 2007 64 Bit laptop] , I get the following :
**Wrong username/password entered**
From here on, it seems to be a point of no return [ regardless of which password I enter].

I have one update.
When I used my Windows 2007 machine as the client to invoke the Launchpad in the EDQ Server which is on Windows 2008, the password reset works and I have been able to launch dnDirector. This should complete the Post Install step for now.
However I would have expected that performing the client activity on the Server, should have worked. We need the answer for the following questions :

1. Does the Server on which EDQ installed [ if in case, we want to perform any client activity from the server itself] require a separate Java 1.6 install, in spite of the fact that
the OEDQ install already comes with a Java Run time ?
2. Does the password re-set [ for the first time] need to be performed only with the Launchpad OR we could use the dashboard ? As per documentation, any client should be fine.

To be clear on what happened here:
- You installed EDQ as a server on a Windows machine. This installs the JRE and other required components is a complete server install, intended largely for test and development use. Clients also with the JRE would be able to connect to the server and use the client apps.
- On the server machine, Windows did not recognize the installed JRE (as installed using the EDQ Windows Installer) under Control Panel -> Java. I think if a standalone JRE installer is not used, Windows does not necessarily link to the JRE correctly. This meant that you could not launch the Webstart apps on the server machine itself.
So, installing a separate JDK solved the problem because Windows then recognized the installed version of Java and enabled Java Webstart. You could have achieved the same effect by pointing Java at the right JRE in the control panel. The server installation was already complete.
Hope this makes sense.

Strange name on password reset?

I reinstalled OS X tonight because I got a new hard drive. When I went to log in to iCloud, my password failed but I wasn't too concerned because I rotate them a fair amount and sometimes forget. I hit the password reset button and received the password reset email. Here's where things get kinda weird.
I DON'T have a second email mapped to my iCloud account (an alternate address) BUT when I reset my password, a message arrived in my other email account asking me to reset my password. AND the name listed was not mine. The Apple ID that I use for my store purchases DOES use the email address that received the strange message and it has my iCloud Apple ID as an alternate email address. I know this is complicated, forgive me.
I have double and triple checked that my Apple IDs do not have any other names or email addresses associated with them. All of the info is mine.
Obviously, I have changed all of my passwords after this and will be on the lookout for weirdness.
Is it possible that this was just an Apple server-side fluke?

In your existing code, change the subject to 'configurator' or any admin that you have .. i can see you are using accountId as a subject .. also try
using target resources concept of IDM.
Still i have a sample code for changing the resource password directly by giving the resource name .. I hope you get an answer soon for this problem

Password Reset client fail to show GINA stub in Windows login

After I installed the Password Client (Version 11.1.1.1.0) and restarted the Windows XP, I found that the GINA stub "Forgot your password? Click here to reset it" cannot be displayed. But I still could do the enrollment by enter the enrollment URL in IE.
Then I installed Password Client to the Windows Server 2003 (the Password Reset Server), and restart the server. The GINA stub could be displayed above the login screen. However, when I click the GINA stub, no any screen to pop up to reset the password.

You can create an App store account without a credit card, however that won't help you with updating your previous purchases. Apps are DRM protected, and tied to the account that was used to originally purchase them. There is no way to overcome this DRM protection or transfer them to another account(Itunes support can if you contact them). If you want to create an App store account without a credit card, follow the directions here, but bear in mind the DRM protection mentioned. If you use this account to download free apps, you will have to use this same account for all future updates:

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
