I read your emails couple of time, but I am not clear, on what you are trying to do.
Are you trying to create a new user, who should reset its password after he/she logs on the first time ? If this is the case then you can achieve it by specifying the password policy in Directory server.
But then again, I might have missed your question.

I'd like to be able to specify what mail server to use when access manager is sending out mail. The password reset service is currently looking to localhost, port 25 for the mail server when trying to send out mail. Is it possible to change this?

I believe the parameters com.iplanet.am.smtphost and com.iplanet.am.smtpport in the AMConfig.properties control this.

Encryption algrothim used for Password reset question and answer

We are trying to write a custom interface to the Password reset service.
The interface is supposed to allow the user to enter a question and answer, then using SAM SDK write the value to the iplanet-am-user-password-reset-question-answer.
The problem is SAM saves the values encrypted, so do any one know the encryption algorithm used and what is key or they are specified.

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.

Why not implementing a simple JEE5 web service for this? AFAIK there is no need to warp this into CAF as the CE stack would also allow you doing so with a simple POJO + annotations.
Within your implementation you could access the standard java.mail APIs. Simply make sure that you set its properties accordingly in the java mail service setttings of the engine (NWA > Configuration Management > Infrastructure > Java System Properties - if I recap this correctly).
So in theory (I did not do it myself yet) this should be a "no-brainer"
As soon as it is deployed and set up correctly on the CE stack you could access the WSDL via the WS navigator (or via the SOA configuration), import it to your process project and make use of it in automated activities.
Another - interesting - option would be using the EJB functions for this. I would imagine modelling the interface this way:
boolean sendMail(String to, String title, String subject, String body)
You could then use this in some (input or output) mapping and pass in some values. In addition the function will return a boolean (or maybe a String) that could tell you the outcome of sending out the mail (so that you know if it worked technically - this does not necessarily mean that the mail reached the recipient - that's depending on infrastructure and SPAM filters
The more I type the more I like this idea - maybe I find two minutes to write some short document for this

Don't know any other way to put it. I typed in the correct password. Now the account is locked. Iforgot does not send an email verification. The email is not in the junk mail or anywhere else. It is typed correctly. This is frustrating. I was just trying to update the Ipad Mini. I wanted to change the ownership to my husband and noticed that my daughter attached a new Icloud account. I was just trying to verify her account. I have the correct password. Now the account is locked out.

I figured it out. It's a little confusing. I was trying to add a new email address for iCloud and I was supposed to type in the main iCloud user ID and password. The wording is not helpful because it displays the name of the new email address.

Help with Bios Password Reset Service

I am trying to use the Bios Password Reset Service for Power On password and Hard Drive Password. The current setting in the Bios is "Enabled, In Progress". The Bios sidebar help tells me that in order to complete registration for this function to open the Create Recovery Media application and "follow instructions". I am lost, there is nothing there about the Password Reset Service. I have already created the Recovery disks and even a Rescue Media disk.
I have found that in the Client Security Solution application, under the advanced tab there is a "Setup Hardware Password Reset" function but it is greyed out!
Since this function is available for selection in Bios shouldn't I be able to use it?
I am using the Windows logon password recovery function in Client Security with no problems.
Any ideas??

UPDATE:
In case anyone cares, I was finally able to figure out how to activate the Hardware Password Reset feature in my T61. Here is the solution, at least in my case:
1)Found the file in Program Files->Lenovo->Client Security Solution->HwPwReset.exe
2)Ran the file and followed the instructions
3)A "Secure Environment" was created in the hardrive and the laptop restarted
4)The laptop booted into the Secure Environment where I was asked to establish 3 security questions and answers.
5)The laptop restarted and the status of the Pasword Reset function in BIOS changed to Registered.
Now if I ever forget the Power-on or Hardrive passwords all I have to do is press F12 on boot-up, select Password Reset option, answer my security questions and voila, passwords are reset or removed. Very nice!
BTW, I called Lenovo technical support twice and after talking to 3 "techs" and one supervisor they had no clue on how to do this. Go figure!

I have an iphone 5 and cannot send email away from home. It works fine at home over my home WiFi. But when away from home on Verizon wireless if I send an email I get an error: "the server refused user >Personal email address deleted< your message has been added to drafts". Rats! Emails should work on our network! Let's get this fixed. It may be the way the email is set up on your device.
