Password Safe for Pre2 and PC

I'm looking for a tool to store all my passwords etc. to have them available on my Pre2 and also on my PC (even if syncing them obviously is not possible automatically in webOS - which is a standard in Windows Mobile!). Up to now I only found SecuStore having both a webOS and a Windows client. Unfortunately the Windows version is 0.0.5 and I would not like to hand over my sensible data to such an Alpha version.
Does anyone have any other recommendations?

If your OS for the PC is Windows XP, then you will require SP1 for WPA and SP2 for WPA2. If you're already at either of these service pack levels, then the problem might be one of two things:
o The PC wireless configuration, or
o The PC's wireless chipset.

Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap the Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign in with the Apple ID of your choosing.

How to enable password request for restart and shutdown?

I want to enable password request for restart and shutdown and want to know if I'm mistaken, because trial and error might become to time-consuming while working on a project.

If I try to run $ shutdown -hP 28 or $ shutdown -c nothings happens, I need to run $ sudo shutdown -hP 28 and $ sudo shutdown -c and type a password. That's the way I want it.
If I e.g. run $ shutdown -r now no password is needed. I want to disable this. It should behave the same way as shutdown -hP/-c behave. I want to type
$ sudo shutdown -r now or $ sudo systemctl reboot etc. and then the password should be required.
$ sudo grep -vn "#" /etc/sudoers | grep [[:blank:]]

The user "rocketmouse" should have all permissions after typing a password, but not without typing the password.

What do you mean by "password protection for apps"?
To keep apps from downloading on a device automatically, go to Settings> Store> and turn off the things you don't want downloaded automatically.

Xgrid server admin controller tab won't create password entries for client and agent authentication.

I am trying to set up password-based access for my OSX Server 10.7.3 running on a mac mini. When I try to enter passwords into the Client Authentication and Agent Authentication fields from the Controller tab and click Save, the fields empty out. When I then try to start the Xgrid service, it fails with an error in the log file controller missing password file "/etc/xgrid/controller/agent-password". Can someone help?

Thanks for the pointer to createhomedir - that did indeed do the trick. (How on earth do people find these little nuggets).
I hesitate to mark this as solved however - it's a functioning workaround, but does nothing to explain why on earth the GUI suddenly stopped functioning.
But in the (likely) event that that question never gets answered, thanks again for letting me get on with working!

Security Issues - No password required for unsleeping and screensaver

I checked the box under security to 'require password when waking from sleep/screensaver' or whatever its called. It worked fine for like 2 weeks...i activate screensaver or sleep the laptop and have to put in a password to get out of it. Now when I wake or unsleep it, no password is required...what can I do? I cannot find any pattern or installation/change I made to cause this at all.
MacBook Pro 1.83 with OS 10.4.6 (all latest updates and firmware)

I deleted 3 plist preference files, the checkbox still remained for the require password option. I did a reboot and the checkbox was still there, and didnt work properly. I did the uncheck/check deal and blam...started to work properly again. Thanks for your help!

Password Requests for Safari and Entourage

I've been through several forums this week trying to resolve iMac challenges. After all of those fixes were incorporated or tried, I now see dialogue boxes in Safari asking for my keychain password as well as in Entourage. Do I need to change a setting someplace, or is this just to be expected from now on?

OK; too simply stated. I did find pop.charter.net as an Internet password. I clicked on the "i" and another window with two selections appeared: Attributes//Access Control. When I select Access Control, the new window shows only one button clicked that says, "*Confirm before allowing access*." The sub-level button, saying "Ask for keychain password," is not clicked. Nor is the upper level button, saying "Allow all applications to access this item." In the lower window it says, "Always allow access by...Entourage...." What should I do about this? Do I need to change it, delete it or just punt?

MMC Password Problem for E71 and Possible Solution

I wanted to share with you the following (took me some time to figure it out...).
On E71 there is a possibiity to remotely lock the phone via an SMS with a specific code you can define. Now if you didn't protect the MMC with an own password before, after the remote lock, the MMC will become protected and the password for it is the SMS code you used for the remote lock. Note that the SMS code doesn't have to be the same as the code with which you unlock the phone itself after the remote lock (except of course if you define them both to be the same).
I hope it helps, at least for some cases. Funny that this is not described in any manual or whatsoever (at least I couldn't find it)....
This was tested on the E71-1 (33), RM-346, product code 0558786), FW Version 100.07.76, with an original Nokia 8GB microSD-HC MMC memory card.

I had this same problem. My memory card suddenly getting corrupted, but I managed to solve it. I believe the source of the problem is the Remote Lock and the Device Lock of the unit. I have an E63 unit (same as E71).
The problem started after I enabled the Device Lock and Remote Lock of my E63 unit. After a couple of hours, I tried to manage my apps in the memory card. To my surprise, it's corrupted! I didn't panic because I believe I could retrieve the files with my PC. But when I inserted my memory card to a memory reader into my PC, the card is unreadable. I had a feeling that the card is really corrupted. But how? I just got this unit almost a day ago. I didn't do anything odd. I'm an OOP-Design Patterns oriented programmer so I'm not newbie when it comes to best practices.
As I searched the web, I found that there are cases too that had this same exact problem. And their guess is also the Device Lock.
So what I did is I disable the Remote Lock and the Device Lock. I checked my memory card and it's still corrupted!
So, I turn off my unit and turn it on again, it's still corrupted!
I removed the memory card while the unit is on (Make sure you use the remove memory card feature of your unit!!!) and then reinserted the card, and it worked.
In summary, to solve this memory corrupted problem. Try disabling the Remote Lock and Device Lock. To disable the Device Lock, revert the password to "12345" (Do not type the quotes). Remove the memory card (Use the remove memory card feature of your unit!!!). Re-insert card and problem fixed.

when i have GMail setup as an IMAP account and synced up to my iPhone (iOS 7) MBP (Mavericks) and Mac Pro (Lion) - do i have to enter ONE "application specific password" for the EMAIL ACCOUNT and /another/ one for the SMTP server or do i just enter ONE for the email account?
all my account (GMail and otherwise) are constantly having problems in mail and i would like to resolve this single issue before i move on to troubleshooting other problems.
also. turning off two step verification is not a possibility for security reasons.

I had a very similar problem with using the Facebook App. I couldn't post a photo because the "Password was incorrect". When I went to input it, the email address it had as a Username was also incorrect. I placed a call to Apple Support (I'm within the free 90 days of phone help). They walked me through a few different attempts to fix it.
I ended up Restoring the iPad altogether. Set up as "New". Download the Facebook App. Set that up. Make sure you can post status updates, post photos and attach locations to these. When all that is up and running well, select what you do and don't want to be sync'd to your iPad. Initiate the Sync.
You'll be up and running then. Hope this helps...

there is not currently a way to do this for these products only.
the only way to lock the device before being able to access those is to completely lock the device with a password.

Sync/Copy Password Safe database from PC

I have Password Safe on my iPhone and on my PC. I would like to synchronise or copy the PW Safe database from my PC to my iPhone. Is this possible?
ps. I don't want this Password Database to be stored anywhere online. Sites as Dropbox and alike have turned out to often that they can offer the needed security.

I found the solution to my problem.
With the application DiskAid (http://www.digidna.net/products/diskaid) I can get directly access to my iPhone. This way I can copy the Password Safe database from my PC to the iPhone. And yes, Password Safe for iPhone is 100% compatible with the PC/MAC versions .
