Password security and write file in Adobe Reader

Hello! I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. I have one question - can I make a PDF file with the following settings
1. Adobe Reader users can save the filled file and print
2. You can not modify file - filling of form fields is blocked
3. Set security method: password security:  Document Open Password and Change Permissions Password.
The problem is that, as I set password security, Adobe Reader user can't save filled pdf file.
Thank You in advance...
Matthew

You must allow form filling.

I use Safari as my browser. When on a site and I click on a PDF file I get a black screen and a notice that "Adobe Reader blocked for this website". However, this does not happen if I use Firefox.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
Do as in Step 3 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • Read and Write Files to user from Forms Server

We are developing an application that requires us to rread and write files to the user system. We are deploying using the developer/forms server and this is not happenning. The text_io package and the d2wkutil operate on the application server system, not the user system. So is there a method to read the file contents into the app and write files out to the user system across the web. Thanks.

developer6 can interact with javabeans. the javabean runs as an applet on the client machine. all you have to do is setup a javabean that read and write to your client machine.
when you test your application, work with java console open so you'll be able to debug your appliacion, if you'll receive java security execption you may need to sign this javabean. look at sun site for info regarding the usage of javakey for signing java classes and jars.

    What is your operating system?
Open a PDF from where?  If online, in what browser?

Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder.

I just bought and downloaded an embroidery file but Adobe Reader will not open it. What can I do?

Is it actually a PDF file or something else.
You haven't given us enough information to do anything other than throw random guesses your way.
Version of Reader? File type? Downloaded and saved to your desktop or are you clicking a link?
Opening in browser or using File>Open in Reader?
    More info is better.

In addition to that symptom, I discovered that even though I had closed all Adobe Reader sessions, the processes kept running and used up 90%+ of my CPU.

If the HDD is formatted NTFS, then it suggests that there is a problem with the PC.  Check with the manufacturer.

  • Unable to open PDF files or Adobe Reader

I am unable to opern adobe reader or download a ner version of adobe reader.

Apparently the original software download was corrupt.  I tried to
"change" it through the add and delete software area of Windows, and  re-installed
the software.  That seemed to work.  Debating on whether  to upgrade to one
of their other products.  I could certainly use  fillable forms, signature,
    and modifiable documents.
    Thank you for responding.

  • Problems opening files with adobe reader 11

I have just downloaded Adobe Reader 11 and now cannot open pdf files online (the computer freezes and I have to shut down explorer) or saved files either (adobe reader opens for about 5 seconds, then just shuts down).  I am operating on windows 7 and have all the current updates from windows.  Can anybody help please?

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
Another thing to try: use Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader
then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement.
