Hello all,
I created a pdf form with Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 . It works perfectly, but now I need to set a password to prevent users (from my company) to be able to read all the javascript code behind the form, for security matters. I mean, if you ever open the pdf form with LC Designer, the software has to prompt a password box for editing, otherwise the file does not open. In the same time, if you open the file with Acrobat Reader, all other functions must remain for users (printing/filling etc...).
I know this is possible, as I found some interactive pdf forms protected this way on the internet. I tried to set a password within LCD, but this locks filling.
So my question is : from which application do you set such a password : LCD or Acrobat Pro (I have the 9.0 version) ? and how do you proceed ?

Under the File/Form Properties you can choose PDF Security and set up the screen this way. You will be asked to create a password when you save the document and each time Designer opens it you will need to enter the password to gain access to it.

Thanks for the help Niel. I couldn't change the rescue email address (an address that no longer exists and is therefore useless) until I could correctly answer the security questions. After numerous guesses, finally got them right. Was then presented with the option to change the rescue email address. Guess the only other option was to have Apple Support make the change or reset my account info. Have made note of the correct answers so this won't happen again. Thanks for the fast response!!

If you have the original "restore" disc that came with your Mac or a Mac OS X installation disc, you should be able to boot from it by holding down the "C" key during rebooting, then choose the option to reset your password from one of the menus.

After getting a malware, my Firefox stopped opening. Is there any way to restore it without losing my passwords, settings, and especially favorite?

Recently my computer was infected by a malware that deleted some DLLs and damaged Firefox, Opera and Google programs.
The other two browsers I reinstalled without any problems. But Firefox is my primary browser and I'm afraid of losing all my information.

Hi,
I tried to connect my N95 to the office's wireless network, but I typed a wrong password. Now, every time I try to connect to the WLAN, it doesn't allow me, because the password is wrong. The password is now saved in the memory and my N95 never asked for it again.
I looked all over and couldn't find a way to set a new password. How can I do it?

menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points
Select your WLAN access point, hit "Options", then "Edit". Scroll down to "WLAN security settings", hit the center key (or Options > Chnge) and the rest should be fairly obvious.

How to "forget" a routers password settings N8

Hi!
I have recently encountered a problem which I believe is caused by two routers having the exact same name (being the exact same router model as well), but different passwords. As a result of this I believe the phone tries to connect to the second router with the password of the first.
I think this might be the problem, as I managed to get my sisters phone access the internet through the current network by "forgetting" the old routers settings and then reconnect with a new password (possible with android OS).
Does anyone know a way for doing this for a Symbian^3 phone? That being resetting the phones WiFi-profiles, so that you have to re-enter the router password. So far I haven't been able to find any way of doing this.

Try menu>settings>connectivity>destinations>select your wifi>options>edit. or just delete the thing and make a new one.

OIM 11g R1 - Reset Password Settings

Hello,
if i reset a user password the default settings are:
- Auto-generate the Password (randomly generated)
- E-mail the new password to the user.
Is it possible to remove these field or set "Manually change the password" as default?

Update:Support has confirm is this as a bug and needs an install on BP06 to fix it.

Password Settings Object - Password Reminder function?

We've just implemented PSO's for password management because we're in sort of a service provider situation and didn't want to subject all of our customers to our specific password requirements. I've been asked that AD provide a reminder to our staff when
their password expiration date approaches. I know this is possible when using a GPO, but can't find any documentation if we can offer this 'service' when using a PSO. Any tips? Thanks!

As far as I know, there is no dedicated attribute for password expiry notice during the configuration process of PSO objects, so the password expiry notice setting wouldn’t be affected by PSO.
The default password expiry notice are 5 days before the password expiration date in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, and 14 days before expiration in previous Windows Systems.
We can modify this setting by group policy setting Interactive Logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration, which is under Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Local Policies\Security Options; or using registry
entry PasswordExpiryWarning, which is under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

Proxy password settings won't stay set-; iTunes store

mini core duo
Logged in authenticating against AD/desktop managed by OD
iTunes 8.0
Proxy settings in Network Sys prefs:
If logged in as AD account, authenticating as local admin for sys pref change: I check the box for "proxy requires password", and enter the user and p/w, when I hit apply the box un-checks itself.
if logged in to local admin account, no problem, proxy password saves; but if logged in as AD account, can't set proxy p/w, hence iTunes wont connect to Store
any suggestions?

Have you run Keychain First Aid?
More likely it's this file that is buggered...
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
Unfortunately it holds tons of settings.

Password Settings bug in Lenovo Power Manager ?

On my w530 I created a new power profile in Lenovo Power Manager, but no matter how many times I change it to NOT require a password on wakeup from sleep, the settings keep reverting from 'No' to 'Yes' (as in Yes, require password).
I open Power Man as admin, change 'Yes' to 'No', click apply and verify that it says 'No'. Then i close power manager and reopen it, and it once again says 'Yes'.
What is going on?

C3 bugs and password, settings, system restore

hey does anyone know of any bugs for the c3. And how you can get them?
just want to know coz i want to be careful with my phone. also the system restore is not an option for me as i dont know the password.
People have said the password is 12345 but that doesnt work for me and i have never changed it. If anyone has help with this please help.

Bugs generally means errors in the programming in an items firmware, operating system or even additional software, you cannot "get" them like a virus.
Sometimes (sic) these errors are not noticed at the manufacturers testing stage especially if the item is rushed to market.
When a phone is released to hundreds of thousands of users any errors or shortcomings soon turn up and the manufacturer releases updates to fix these.
To further complicate the matter network operators choose their own version of the operating system (usually with certain functionality/menus disabled and their own logos replacing the manufacturers.) and they decide what updates to release. (Usually none because the update would revert the phone to the manufacturers menu unless they paid for a bespoke update. And why should they bother, they have already got your money....)
Major bugs on the are C3:
1: When accessing the internet it does not always give you the option of whether to connect by wlan or gprs despite all settings being correct.
I thought i had this fixed after following advice on this forum, but after working for a day the problem came back despite the fact i have not changed anything. Go figure..
2: Probably related to the above. Sometimes remains connected via GPRS even though set to "as needed", meaning it should disconnect when you close the browser. (Mine even reconnects after restarting the phone.) Cost a fortune in data charges! I am going to pursue my operator for this(Tesco).
My phone is vers 04.45 There is an Nokia update for this phone which presumably fixes these bugs but my operator has not approved it so I'm stuck, if I take it back I'll get offered a replacement (it will have the same problem, no point) or a refund. Trouble is I really like this phone, (wifi for £70!!) if it worked as intended it would be a great phone. Come on Nokia, this is damaging your reputation, search your own boards, loads of people have these problems, what can we do!

Cannnot change password settings since 18.0 upgrade.

I recently upgraded & now there is a check mark in "Remember passwords for sites". When I open my browser my home page appears with new window from Symantec (my protection program). The Symantec window tells me I have my password management on, which I want to use. Then it asks if I want to turn off the browsers built in password manager. I select yes. After I close the browser and then later open it I get the same message. So I went to the settings in the Firefox Options window. The box and text "Remember passwords for sites" is lighter then the rest in the window and it will not allow me to remove the check-mark.
I have used my Symantec program with Firefox for several years. This issue came with the upgrade. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you confirm that you want Norton to turn off the browsers built in password manager then obviously Norton will disable this feature and prevent you from using the Firefox Password Manager. 
They may be blocking some prefs that will prevent you from changing it, so you need to deny if you want to control this yourself.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

I never set a password for my acrobat and it is locking my out of changing the password settings. I am trying to send a file and the reciever cannot access

There are quite a lot of possible things that are going on. Can you let us know
1. What system you have (e.g. Windows 7, Mac OS Mavericks)?
2. What version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader you have?
3. WHO gets the message about a password (you or the receiver, or both)?
4. What is the full text of the message, if you get it?
5. If the receiver gets it, what security do you set on the file?

Require password settings on mobile devices remediation failed

Hello,
I'm having an issue with 2012R2 Cfg Mgr and Intune.
I have a managed Android 4.1 device.
I'm trying to enforce "Require password setting on mobile devices" with a baseline config.
Config Manager is reporting on my device "Remediation failed" 0x87D1FDE8.
Is there anything I've done incorrectly? Perhaps not supported?

I've got password policy to apply just fine on android, verify that you actually waited long enough for the device to process policy - see
this guide explaining the steps i took. Initially you might see the Remediation Failed message but wait at least a day to see how that pans out, alternatively change your CB deployment to just monitor instead of remediate and troubleshoot it that way
