Password was not setup correctly during DBUA upgrading

Hi Experts,
I was using DBUA to upgrade our system from 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4.
There was one step to setup the password, I think I accidently put an extra "Enter" or "Space" in the end of the password.
DBUA prompted a warning:"You have a invalid password, there was an invalid charactor in the password" during the upgrading.(I don't quite remember the exact wording. But that's basically what it meant.) This warning/error makes the last step show one of the component was failed to be upgraded due to the invalid password.
However, I used "select comp_name, version, status from dba_registry;" to check, and all of them are valid and up to date.
Should I worry about the failed job?
Thanks,

>Should I worry about the failed job?
NO!
subsequent testing will reveal some error, then password can then be corrected.

Hello.  Since accepting the upgrade to the current version of I Tunes (11.4) I have been unable to get the application to boot.  I receive the message that I Tunes was not installed correctly and Error 7 (Windows Error 193).  I have uninstalled/reinstalled I Tunes several times and this has not resolved the issue.  I also uninstalled/reinstalled Microsoft.net Framework 4 since this was suggested by Apple support.  This also has not resolved the issue.
When I reinstall I Tunes, I get a message that the “Service ‘apple mobile device’ failed to start.”  Verify you have sufficient privileges to start system services.  I attempted to manually start the Apple Mobile Device service but get a pop up stating, “Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.”Unsure what I should try next.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.
In your case I suggest you start with a clean download of the setup file using the direct link. If reinstalling AMDS alone doesn't work try tearing everything down again.

While having a perfectly running iTunes and all programs associated, I was notified of the iTunes 10.4 upgrade. After following typical directions, I have had nothing but trouble. First “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 5)” occurred. Following directions found at https://discussions.apple.com/message/15087646#15087646, I now get the following “iTunes.exe - System Error The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is still missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”, Along with “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)” I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on HP TouchSmart tx2-1275dx. I was one week away from buying an iPad but not if this is what I have to deal with. Please help

I actually managed to resolve this on my own by downloading iTunes from the Apple website and reinstalling iTunes that way. Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ That should fix your problem. Good luck!

I was today invited to upgrade my iTunes when I logged on.  Update failed. Every time I now try to open iTunes I get error messages.  Second message reads "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7. Windows error 126". I now can't sync my iPhoneand I am worried that if I re-install I will lose all my contacts, calendar, notes, etc.

I too had this problems (Windows 8.1).  A few weeks ago after the previous update before this version of itunes, I'd had a problem with the itunes store crashing and at that time I followed instructions to copy QTMovieWin.dll to the itunes folder, which fixed the store crashing.
Today I fixed the problem by:
    Delete QTMovieWin.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Uninstall ALL Apple Software using Control Panel / Programs and Features.  I uninstalled:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Apple Application Support
    Apple Software Update
    Bonjour
    Delete the folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    Restart the computer
    Reinstall QuickTime
    Reinstall iTunes
Everything works GREAT now, including the iTunes store.  You will not lose your media files, I got everything back, all my settings, playlists, etc.

After searching on line, it seemed that this was a compatibility issue, and I might need .NET 3.5, which in turn seems to be part of SP2, but my autodownloads failed and the patch for downloading SP2 failed to install also.
Yeah, that'll be our issue. We'd better get you up to SP2 ... without it, you won't be getting any security updates now, so you'll possibly be a wee way behind on that front. (In the grand scheme of things, that's probably the more significant problem.)
Are you able to get SP2 in if you do a manual download of the System readiness tool? There's instructions for that in the Information for Advanced Users section of the following document:
[Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821]

  • ITunesHelper was not installed correctly. Error 7  Help!! My itunes worked yesterday.

My itunes wont open without an error message that says itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes Error 7 (Windows error 14001) What has caused this and how do I get my itunes back????

after i researched this issue for several days and i emailed apple support this is what i did and it really worked.  somewhere i saw on a post to download revo uninstaller because it gets rid of all aspects of a program.  i downloaded the revo uninstaller pro.  you get a 30 day free trial.  i uninstalled everything apple.  there is a place on there where you check what scale of scan to use.  the first time i used medium on the first few items and advanced on the rest.  the advanced scan really went through each and every file after the so called uninstall and found traces of the programs. i had to check boxes beside files that had traces and removed them all. (I ended up having to do this twice because the first time i did this the error box kept popping up when i reinstalled, so my advice is to choose advanced each and every time.  also after the first time, that box popped up during the reinstall of itunes that said i needed permission to install something.) Next thing i did was checked on the recent updates and installs on my computer.  windows/ms had installed 3 things in those automatic updates.  i uninstalled all 3.  i'm convinced that there is a corrupt file in there somewhere.  there are several fixes and scans on the left side of revo, and i ran several of them just to check.  the final one on the bottom was an evidence remover.  since everywhere i have seen says to remove all traces, apparently when you empty the recycle bin it really doesnt get rid of it.  so i did the evidence remover.  it took all day.  almost 9 hours.  next, apple support had suggested i go to windows update site and download the latest version of there update software.  i was wary, but i did this update.  i restarted my computer.  next i went back to apple and reinstalled itunes.  during the reinstall, the box that said i needed permission didn't pop up.  after the install the error box didnt pop up.  and when i went to itunes, everything was there.  i cant tell you which exact step fixed it, but something did.  good luck to you.  i emailed the apple support guy back and mentioned the revo uninstalled.  i'm pretty sure that advanced scan really did the better delete than just uninstalling.

  • TS1717 Having trouble running iTunes version 11.0.2 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.  Keep getting an error message "the software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly..." reinst

Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1).  I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly.  Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?  I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired.  Please reinstall iTunes..."  I have done this a number of times to no avail.

I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Doublechecking. Were you using the instructions from the following documents?
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

(Doublechecking, because an error 7 off ituneshelper normally indicates trouble with Apple Application Support. If something else is going on, it's pretty exotic.)

  • Every time I install an update of itunes, I get an error message saying: "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.Kext" was not installed Correctly. Has any one had it? Can you help me?

Every time I install an update of itunes, I get an error message saying: "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.Kext" was not installed Correctly. Has any one had it? Can you help me?

Find out what that third party software the kext file belongs to and update or use the developers method to uninstall the third party software responsible for it.
    I suspect it's a iTunes extension perhaps?
You also can use the manual method of Finder > Go > Computer and opening your drive, then your  System/Library/Extensions folder and looking for the file and moving it out onto the desktop, you will need to be in Admin user and use your password, then reboot to clear the random access memory. However this method doesn't remove the parent program you still need to do that.
How to uninstall/install software on your Mac
The kext file wasn't loaded, so it's not running, but removing it from the Extensions folder or uninstalling what put it there will solve your notification problem as that's all it appears to be.

  • Resinstalling Itunes does not fix the error? It won't let me play my audible books because 'itunes was not installed correctly', so I reinstalled it and it still won't work. I'm lost, any suggestions?

I recently moved my itunes to a new computer. The audible stuff doesn't automatically come up because its not purchased from the itunes store. So I opened the files with itunes on my new computer. It said that I had to authorise my audible account on this computer which I did, but then itunes came up with the following:
'Could not authorise this computer because iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.'
So I uninstalled then reinstalled iTunes and it still didn't work, I then did it again and it STILL DIDN'T WORK.
I have absolutely no idea what to do now, so if anyone has any advice it would greatly appreciated.

When uninstalling iTunes on your windows computer, there is a specific way it must be done in order to completely uninstall all components of the software.  Ensure you follow the article for your correct OS.
    Windows XP - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925.
    Windows Vista or Windows 7 - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.

  • Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)

    Hi!
So i think i closed the wrong service at some point a few weeks back (apple mobile device) but iTunes remained working after that for another week. I then updated iTunes and i get the same  "Service ‘Apple Mobile Device’ (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." every time. If i click ignore, just so i can access iTunes with out syncing my iPod (touch 2nd gen) i then get 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)" when it has all installed. I don't understand what the problem is anymore as I have looked at other questions on the apple website, carried out the advice and it hasn't work. Any of them.
    Tings I have done:
    - Wiped all iTunes and Apple data from my computer (if you search for 'iTunes' or 'Apple' nothing comes up apart from applets from system code.
    - Attached iPod before iTunes install and updated drivers.
    - Installed iTunes as 'Run as administrator'
    - Uninstalled and re-installed the software nearly 20 times now and rebooted the computer in between everytime.
Please someone help because i really need to get music on my ipod and i enjoy the ease of use of iTunes compared to spotify or Windows Media Player.

Regarding AMDS failures there is a hint in another thread that disabling the Windows Firewall before attempting to reinstall may help, otherwise take a look at the steps outlined in this post. Re: Can't install iTunes 12.1 on Windows 7 64-bit. I know they look a little daunting, but the process of generating the logs themselves isn't that hard to do. Extracting useful information from them is still a challenge but maybe something will leap out. If you want to post the log for the failed components for me to have a look at here or in the other thread please edit out any personal information, particularly your email address, first.

  • ITunes won't open. it says "Error 7 iTunes was not installed correctly" I know I did though. Now what? Should I uninstall? I don't want to loose my music!

I have the latest version of iTunes and when I went to go open it, it can't! It says: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.Error 7 (Windows error 126)"  What do I do now? Should I uninstall and try installing it again? I don't want to loose any of my music and info. PLEASE HELP!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been  unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.
