Passwords and images problem

Firefox image problem. In Firefox 3.6.12, every time I save an image that's already displayed on my screen, I see "one active download" appear in the bottom right of Firefox's window and the same image is also listed in downloads. The problem is that Firefox doing that uses more bandwidth. How do I set Firefox so that when I save an image, instead of that image getting re-downloaded from where it's stored on the internet, it's copied from wherever Firefox has it stored to display it so Firefox doesn't use as much bandwidth? Tools/options/advanced/network/offline storage is set to 50mb.
Firefox password problem. Tools/options/security/passwords has "remember passwords for sites" checked and there is nothing in my exceptions list. But Firefox keeps forgetting passwords, usually after restarting Firefox and or my whole system and on some sites, I don't even get asked "do you want to remember..." How do I fix this?
I do have CCleaner and it's set to run at startup, but all the boxes for Firefox are unchecked, so it's not the cause of either problem.

I right click and either select "save image as" or if I want to save an image to more than one location, I select "view image" and then use ctrl+s. Both results in Firefox re-downloading the image as I described above. It happens on every site I visit.
The password problem never happened before, but I will try disabling my extensions one at a time and see if it happens only whan a particular extension is turned on.

I've also noticed that Firefox is forgetting what sites I've visited recently (I type in part of the url of sites I've visited sometimes as recently as a few hours ago and the entire url isn't in the suggested list) and I keep having to put the Fire FTP Button back in the toolbar (next to the home/stop/reload/back-forward buttons). That may be related to the pasword problem. I don't know.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

Password and Display problem

I am having 2 major problems with my macbookpro -
1. it no longer recognizes my password when it is prompted for - example when i try to install a new software or driver. My lgin password has not changed and does work, but this password, which is the same, does not.
2. Too often when i turn on my computer the screen in fully dark. after a while i realized this can be overcome by adjusting the brightness using the shortcut keys F4. Otherwise there is no way of seeing anything on the display (actually...except for by holding a bright light in a specific angle next to the screen...)
any help would be greatly appreciated

You can check if there are entries in the password manager with an empty user name.<br />
Remove saved Password(s):
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
You can also check the exceptions.
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions
You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove everything like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions from that domain, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.<br />
You can't recover from that "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Autosave and image problems in Pages 5

I opened a doc from previous Pages version in new Pages 5 and got repeated Autosave errors. They said the file could not be autosaved as it was created by another application and the location could not be found. I then I saved it as a new document with a new name and when I opened it had removed all the figures. Any ideas why? This is a huge disappointment as I have relied on Pages as the "Anti-Word" to be stable and reliable

Notice : I use a the french version. I'll try to use the right terms to get me understanded.
About those functions : group, ungroup, align, distribute... They get available when :
     - you first select one or more objects
     - in the Format Window at right you choose the « Arrange » menu.
     - Then you select (I'm not shure about this one in english) « Stay on the page ». Don't select « With text ». SEE IMAGE INSERTED here.
Now, what about the vertical ruler? I guess it's all gone in this version.
Also, to easily select multiple et specific objects I didn't find any way better then the shift-click avery one of them. Bummer.

RTL8101 and Imaging Problem

We have some Toshiba laptops with RTL8101e lan.
The systems fails to go to load the imaging system due to failed DHCP requests. It looks like it's autodetected an older realtek card, but on the log screen in says the link is down.
How do I build new drivers for the 8101?

OK, got mine working. The r1000 driver in the latest driver pack (Feb
09) is compiled against the wrong version of kernel and won't load on my
system. I installed SLED 10SP2 on a spare workstation to get the correct
kernel version (2.6.16.60-0.21-default) and compiled the Linux driver for
my chipset (r6186) from realtek.com site.
Then i opened the initrd file and copied my new module into the correct
folder. I also had to edit the linuxrc.config file to change the newid
line that matched my card from r1000 driver to r8168 driver. then I
repackaged the initrd file and copied it my pxe server. the driver loads
and I can image OK. the kernel complains about unsupported modules
causing U taint but it does work.
I used TID 3421576 and zen documentation to complete the process. look
there for further details.

Preview and images problem

Hi, everybody, I am new to these topics. I recently upgraded my wife`s MacBook to a 160 Gb HD and 2Gb Memory (one 2 Gb in one slot). Everything worked great till the moment she received a pen drive with some photos. Since then, Preview stoped working. It opens in the dock but it does not open any pictures nor pdf´s nor anything (It does fast preview). Even when one tries to attach a picture to a mail then Safari (4.0) crashes. I tried many things: repair disk permisions; repair disk; Safe boot; but nothing works. Then also tried to reboot from its Install disk; to Archive and Install (it did not); but now, it is not mounting any DVD nor Cd´s. It is a very difficult situation if anybody can help, we would appreciate. Thanks in advance.

Looks like you were doing the right thing. Acrobat.com had some issue yesterday afternoon and I encountered similar problem then. However the problem was solved and I was able to upload images fine in the evening. When did you encounter the problem? If it was about the same time frame, could you try again and see if it is better now?

I have to verify my iCloud password every day through forgot.com using the memorable questions. I updated my phone to the latest IOS and I am using Mavericks on the Mac - other than that nothing has changed. This problem has only occurred in the past two weeks, I can't believe the account is being hacked EVERY day... Anyone having the same problem?

Password and Sync Problem

I ended up chaining my password for my Mobile Me information on me.com. After doing this everything is screwed up. My e-mail and mobileme syncing, I keep getting messages popping up. Need some help.

If thjis is a reproducible problem log a support case with the traces and have them figure it out for you.

Firefox hotspot and image problems

i have a major problem with hotspots on my images. the links on the hotspots do not work in firefox. also, the image align is completely messed up. It works fine in ie, i simply have 2 .gif images next to each other, and in firefox, the images appear on top of each other.
even worse! - all links do not work on firefox, they are simple links placed on images! only one image has a working link, all the other images dont work on firefox!

The answer lies in the code. Post a URL to the problem page, and someone can take a look. Otherwise it's simply guesswork.

Password and audio problems after a fresh installation

I installed arch i686 on a friend's toshiba laptop. Now I list the problems I encountered:
1) - First of all, at the beginning of the installation process, i set a simple root password, a classic "123". Now when my friend wants to set his personal root password through the command "passwd", it requries at least 8 characters. Now my friend set an 8 characters password but he wants to set a password with only 4 charcaters.... How can he do?
2) - Evolution asks the old root password (the "123"), even if my friend changed it with a new 8 characters password.
3) - The audio seems to work fine but when he opens skype all is muted (even with alsamixer controls at hightest volume). Also if he closes skype the audio remains stll silent. So he needs to reboot to restore the normal situation.

1) just type it twice, "12341234". however, you should really set a proper root password instead and do daily work as a regular user with sudo access
2) maybe evolution isn't asking for root but for the gnome-keyring password, which you might have set to 123 earlier too?

MS ACCESS, ColdFusion and Image Problems

I have done this before using PHP and Mysql and it was pretty
simple. I now need to do this in ColdFusion and MS Access 2003.
I want to store logos in a database. After reading up on it,
I found that you store images in Access using the OLE Object
Datatype - done. Now the real fun part starts.
I am trying now to display these logos from the MS Access
2003 database onto a webpage using Coldfusion. I have looked into
it, and one article suggested using the BLOB type - which is what
you do in MySQL, but in MS Access that option is not available. So
I looked into it somemore, and it seems that there are three
functions that you need to use, and they are in Visual Basic -
provided in part by Microsoft, but it seems EXTREMELY way too
complicated for simply displaying an image staored in a Database.
Has anyone been able to store and display images using MS
Access and Coldfusion before? If so, could you guide me?

The reason for storing the image in the database is that our
company wants it that way for portability reasons. Filenames
change, directories get lost when moving from one system to
another. Databases are easier to backup and are more efficient when
it comes to searching metadata. We have over 300 logos we must
store for our different organizations - having a directory for each
is complicated.
Has anyone had issues like this with Coldfusion and MS
Access? If so could you guide me?

ICloud password and backup problem

iPad Air
8.2 iOS
Repeatedly asking for iCloud password. No pattern, just constantly.
I can verify the password by logging into iCloud itself, so I know the password is valid.
Also unable to run a backup.
If I sign out of iCloud (like it has been suggested elsewhere in this support group), delete at all prompts and sign back in -- that only means it deletes what is on the iPad itself, and iCloud will repopulate with all the deleted info (like photos) once I sign back in -- correct? Hitting delete is sort of scary, right?

Okay. signed out of iCloud. fixed the constant request for password, but now back up doesn't work because I suddenly need more room. It was fine 2 days ago before this all started and I haven't added anything to make it too large. What the heck?

MySQL password and root problems.......please help

I've been trying to install and configure my computer to run MySQL. I've installed it and when I tried to change the password in the Terminal window by using: sudo /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root mysql
I got an error message saying: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
I don't know what's happened and how I can change it.

Since it is likely this error is generated by MySQL rather than OS X, you'd be better off posting your question in the UNIX forum, where a few MySQL users hang out.

Password and trashcan problem

since I've updated to 10.9.2, my computer asks me for my password each time I delete a file - how do I stop this?

URL and Image problems

When placing a URL on an image the URL is not working when the page is uploaded. I have no idea why. It worked in previous versions of dreamweaver but not with CS6.
