Passwords vanished
Several apps' passwords had recently vanished. I had mail.ru, yandex.ru, facebook, instagram and skype apps on my Iphone 5s with iOS 7.1.1. I do use them daily and one day it said - end of session, login with you password, but my password was wrong. After an hour I reinstalled a new password on yandex app and used it, but after 15 min it vanished again.
Today I finally got an access to my facebook account and it said, that blocked my profile because somebody tried to login from Summit, NJ, United States from Safari for Mac OS X 10.9 (26 june в 14:10). That time I was in Russia. I guess somebody broke into me iphone and now I'm so afraid of using it.
Please suggest me how to get a saver access!
This can happen if the files signons.sqlite and key3.db that store the passwords and the encryption key get corrupted.
Any luck with trying to restore a previous version of the two files?

What do you mean it vanishes? It always disappears from the setup screen after it's setup. Is the device asking for it again after a few hours or are you just noticing it's gone?

DW 11.0.4 won't save site usernames and passwords
After upgrading to 11.0.4, usernames and passwords vanished for all of my sites. I re-entered, tested and they all worked properly. But the next time I opened DW, they were blank again. Any help would be appreciated as I maintain several non-profit sites.

Since installing the 11.0.4 update, have you completely restarted your computer?
If you do so, your login credentials should re-appear as they were before updating.

User and password fields vanish in login window

I'm scratching my head. I have a managed 10.7 client, bound to a 10.7 OD, for various testing. Set login window to show user and password text fields. Sometimes (but not always, haven't found a rule yet), there is a little left/back arrow left to the user field. If I click it, user and password text fields vanish, leaving me with a more or less blank login screen except for the restart/shutdown/sleep buttons. Nothing I tried will bring back the text fields, and the only option is to do a restart.
Anyone seen this? What should it be good for?
I thought that maybe this should be something like in Windows, where you have to press ctrl-alt-del to get the actual login screen to show, but neither cmd-option-shift-enter nor cmd-option-ctrl-enter have any effect. Nor does esc or ctrl-option-esc.Finally got the upgrade rolling again. Not sure which trick did it, But the last thing i did was this. I changed the password for the user SAP* using the configtool under cluster-data -> Global server configuration -> services -> comn.sap.security.core.ume.service -> ume.superadmin.password. Type in the value field, hit "set" and retyped it in again. Hit save, restarted the instance. I had tried this earlier under the single instance server. But that didn't seem to take effect.

I've changed my Apple ID, but the iPod still insists on my old ID, and the old password no longer works, so how I do I get the old ID to vanish and be able to use the new ID?
- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into new account.
NOTE
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
A brand new bug in DW 8

otherwise only the first directory is visitble and no files other
than those uploaded during the current session, the exact opposite
of all previous versions. When "passive is checked" and the site is
reconnected the display and uploading/downloading works as expected
.....for the current session. HOWEVER, when returning to the site
suddenly there is an FTP error --- which turns out to be that the
user name and password are now blank - empty. Repeatable? Yes, try
about 50 times thus far. It's a really irritating time eater.
WORKAROUND/SOLUTION Once passive (or the ftp address) have
been changed you must first "export" the ste, then delete the file
from the list, then "import" it again.

Somehow keychain randomly loses a pop email account password. The mail preferences shows the account password is blank. The usual pop entry in keychain is gone. I reenter the password in the preferences account and voila it gets put back into keychain. Until it disappears again. Which could be tomorrow, or even the day after, or the next 15 minutes. What can be done to lock down that keychain password?
I see a good number of threads here and other forums where people encounter this behavior and blame their version of OSX, Mail, their ISP, or timeouts. I can't rule out the ISP or timeouts, but I can tell you that I have seen this problem over the years with many machines with every flavor of OSX and each time that I have fixed it, it had nothing to do with any of the above.
It seems that Keychain Access sometimes "forgets" it's path to Mail. Maybe it's when Mail gets a system update would be my guess, maybe just when the computer sneezes.
To fix -> Open Keychain Access utility, click on Category: All Items
In the search field type something relevant (example - if I were looking for a problem with yahoo outgoing email, I would search for smtp or yahoo)
Once you have found the listing you are looking for, double click it, click on the Access Control tab, look where it says Version, if it says "unknown", then this is your problem, the path to Mail has become disassociated.
Delete this entry by clicking it and then clicking the [ - ] button, then click the [ + ] button, navigate to Applications:Mail and select it, now yourVersion should report the actual version number. Save it (it will ask for your OSX account password).
Fixed example from Tiger immediately after updating the path to Mail:
Caution: I have seen posts elsewhere with someone advising to just click the Allow all... button, do NOT do this, it is a bad idea security wise. Yeah it will fix it, but it will also allow ANY application to access your credentials. No applications have any business accessing this password except the ones you explicitly allow! -
New install all Bookmarks, History and passwords have vanished
OK not happy....
1. Firstly I never gave firefox permission to install the new 29.01 firefox, I just booted up my macbook pro and bingo firefox was installed!!!
2. now I no longer have any passwords, bookmarks or any History, If I knew firefox was going to just install it self i would of back up all bookmarks and passwords.
So now I no longer have anything i have looked around this forum all all it explains is how to recover them from a saved file ( which i have done before ).
So now I might as well go and find another browser as there is nothing i can do... and i dont need a browser in my life that just dumps everything!!!ok lets try again, but thanks for the quick reply and helpful link although I can't see this is helpful in my case.
Ok is it possible that firefox might have saved the files/config from the previous version of firefox so I could retrieve the date and install/add to this new updated version of firefox.
I DO NOT have an up to date bookmark and password backup its a few months old (ah yes I know I should of backed up but I didn't *yawn*) -
Password Reset and vanishing user account
Here's the situation.
My friend did not know the password to her iMac, so using the install DVD that came with my iBook I booted her machine and did the password reset as per article 106156. However I not only changed the password to her user account, but also to the root account. (I did not actually see the article until afterward which says not to touch root). After both user and root passwords were successfully changed, I rebooted only to find that the user account was missing from the log in menu! Also unfortunate is that I don't have any other boot/repairs disks aside from my system install disk.
I can't quite figure out why that might happen and how to resolve it. The install disk had 10.3 and her machine had 10.2, but I don't think that is the issue.
How do I get the missing user account to reappear?
If worse comes to worse I might try booting the iMac up in target disk mode and try to retrieve the user data if its possible to do so.Andrew,

As for allowing a user to unlock their account from the logon page, there is no such functionality that I know of. This would need to be developed. We are doing something similar. In our case, we are developing a module that allows user to retreive their user ID if they forget it. This also is not functionality that SAP provides. The user can specify their email address, and it emails them their user ID. This is being developed in Web Dynpro for Java utilizing the UME APIs.

Trying to find my daughters ipod touch, the last we saw it was around thursday and strangly I recieved an email that the apple id was attempting to be changed and or reset...this was not by me or my wife and my daughter is 7 so i dont think it was her...we think it may have been taken at her school but not sure so what i was wondering was is there a way to pinpiont the wifi network that was used to make this attempt?? If it is then it will be a huge help, This was a gift from "santa" and finding would really make us happy!! Thanks for any and all help!!

When it did that, it should have given you the opportunity for it to take a backup as part of the update process...as long as you did not suppress that, the backup file should still be available. Search your PC hard drive for files with IPD extension (*.IPD). Inspect the date/time of the results...the most recent file is the most likely candidate to be source of restore:

If there are no IPD files, then it's a pity you did not follow your instinct and bypass that update offer in favor of first taking that manual backup you were intending to take.

Some details might help...as in, what, exactly, does "unable to put them back in operation" mean? What, exactly, do you attempt? How, exactly does it respond?
In the meantime, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT

3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

My files vanished. Adobe does nothing...
I've marked this as a question in hopes that someone had this problem and found a resolution. I've waited nearly if not 3 months before going this route, but I'm absolutely disgusted with the support and so called escalation of my issue.
This is my last desperate attempt to get someone's attention... Sad. Never thought I'd be griping in public forums to get a response.
In short, my files vanished: I stored approximately $5000 worth of files in Created Cloud. These consisted of graphics I've purchased, licenses to accompany them, videos, after effect templates, and several client related files of work our company has performed. I've spent countless hours dealing with the adobe technical support, from basic to escalated to absolutely no resolve. I've had to repeat myself a ridiculous amount of times. Each support agent passes the buck to someone else, now eventually leading me to escalation.
Now for all of those to read, I'm going to entertain you with as much of these discussions as I can dig out.
A little background. A year or so ago I had adobe change my adobe ID to [email protected]. Previously it was under a gmail account. I was moving along with my work and noticed that the stupid annoying login window popped up when trying to open Dreamweaver. It stated that it couldn't find an account under my adobe ID. Support tells me there never was one under that ID. I use 1Password and have had this login and password saved for a long time. I use Adobe products daily. I'm not losing my mind.
Jumping into my support cases on adobe.com, I see that the chat history is not saved. I saved some of the later ones, so for now I'll share what happened.
Basically I finally gave up arguing with the agent. My ID mysteriously reverted back to the original gmail. I didn't change it back. They said it was never under a .me account. Arguing served no purpose at that point. It just continued to insult my intelligence. I signed into the gmail account and was able to open the software.
It was later/or before. I'm getting so confused now... I realized that all of my files in Creative Cloud were gone. Every ... single... one of them. Not the folders though. The folders, and all the child folders ( I had it very well organized ), like Photos, People, Places, Solid Objects, and so on. Web icons, graphics, videos, etc. All the folders there, but no files.
I started saving these transcripts. Here's one on:

Here is my problem:
Need to change my email with the one that currently I'm using for rescue
Planed to change first the rescue email with a new one.
But:
I Forgot the security questions
Followed the reset security questions instructions.
Got the email on the rescue address but The link I've got on my rescue email to reset my security questions is invalid. By now the 3 hour window for the validity of the link is gone.
If I go via Apple ID, I login successfully but when I select Security I'm thrown back into Manage your Apple ID screen that displays now as well this message "An unknown error has occurred"
Tried several times, the same again and again.
On top of the long hours on the forums I spent 20 minutes over the phone with the US support on international charge, eventually I hanged up while waiting too long for the 3 rd expert but got an email later on indicating to clear my browser history and try again, which didn't work. Case number 519598448. Used my laptop with IE and my iPad, same result.This problem now appears for me too.
When using iforgot.apple.com email-verification clicking the reset link results in the "Invalid Link" error.
The error, that caused me to do this (password failing to verify against iCloud) has vanished since though. -
help. I have a Google Hangout in 40mins and my sound seems to have vanished. I went to Sys Prefs and it came up with Digital Out....and the Internal Speakers option is no longer there. How do I reboot, or fix this please?
There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
2. Make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. If not, the machine needs to be serviced. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
11. Reset the NVRAM.
12. Reset the SMC.
13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
