the past 3 flash players do not work on my mac. I am running on 10.8.5 and my safari is 6.0.5. The flash player closes every app automaticlaly that uses flash and youtube comes up as "plug in failure". I had to downgrade to a low version of flash player a while back but since the new updates security they made me update to the newest version of flash. please help.

i have not been able to install flash 10 on my computer because i have vista. nothing seemed to work so i downloaded 9. now that is not working. when installed there is an x on the icon in my programs. i have deleted it and re installed it and have to do that every few weeks but now it wont show at al. i am in desperate need of this flash player and need help. what can i do or is there another program that does what this flash player does? Ok. LOL. I was reading the problems you were having and reading what you have tried so far, but I couldn't help but laugh. I've been in your shoes but under different curcumstances. I'm an above average user (pretty smart when it comes to computers, Electronics Technician in the Navy) and my father is a retired Computer Technician (IT and Tele-Communications). So I like to think I know a few things. The reason you can't delete the .ocx flash files directly is because those are considered system files (since they are in the System32 folder, the Adobe Flash folder has inherited those same permissions and restrictions) and you are not running as an (approved) administrator (which you know). You ARE running as an Administrator if you are the sole user of the system and are not working under a user created account. The problem in under the System32 folder, your not listed as the Administrator/User with full control capability. I know you already dragged them out, deleted them, and tried installing Adobe Flash 10. It's a built in security feature put in place by Microsoft to help keep spyware, adware, viruses and accidental user deletion from harming the OS. In your list of add-on's you did not have flash listed as a plug-in or active-x. It has nothing to do with your toolbars you have installed or your java. First off, disable your UAC (User Account Control)(You can turn this back on later if your paranoid about security, and do not have any anti-spyware and anti-virus software installed). Go to control panel. Start then click control panel. Then in the top right corner of that window is a search bar that should say "search in control panel". Type in UAC. This should bring up your UAC which is by default set to medium or so. Turn this all the way off by sliding the bar to the bottom. Restart your computer. (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way -on-windows-vista/) Once rebooted, this should give you full access to most things in the computer. Some system files may require you to take or "Inherite permissions" before they can be modified. You can google how to take permission of system files (or read below). Then go here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html. Scroll down, download, then install the active-x and plug-in for Windows. Then check in your add-ons in IE8 and it should be there. If not try viewing a website with a flashplayer. For example, go to www.armorgames.com then just click any random game. Those are all flash based games and if your flash player is working the game will work. If you still see a red "x" then you may have a flash blocker installed as an add-ons or in your add/remove programs (I'll guide you through those steps if this doesn't work). The IE8 by default (security settings) will not block flash player. If you have anymore questions, just let me know and I will be glad to help you.

Adobe Flash Player wont work after all steps taken, what haven't I done to make it work?

I tried to play a game I love & I got this message: "To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.0 or greater is installed" So I went to your site to update my flash player & hit the "Test Flash Player" button & it came up

As you can see it's turned off & I even tried it the other way where it has the spot checked & it still wont play. So I decided to see if I could reinstall it onto my computer & so in turn I got this message:
That is the message I got even after trying to delete Flash Player & reinstalling it. Now you can see my frustration with all this. no matter what steps I do my flasher player wont work! It works for 1 day then it goes back to displaying a green screen for all videos on the net and wont play any of my videos on my computer uploaded from my phone. I have the lastest version but this still happens.

Flash game wont work on a Mac

I have a game that was working fine, recently the client complained that on a mac and in Safari and Firefox the game is broken, but it works fine in Windows. It's a card game, the problem is on a mac you can't drop a card. I develop on a mac, and the game worked fine for almost a year. Has anyone heard of any Mac flash player issues?

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

I am on a mac using OS X.
The other day my flash player stopped working and said to update it so i did all of that.
Well after that it wasnt working still.
It wont work for online games on facebook.
I downloaded and installed 10.2 but that still doesnt seem to work, im now not so sure of what to do or how to fix it.
Also not sure what i need to say in here so if anyone can PLEASE help, it will be much appreciated.

    Look into the HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ directory and see if you have the below two files:

Adobe Flash Player Wont Work More than Once

When trying to watch a video on youtube i got a message saying i needed to intstall the latest version of flash, so i downloaded it and it worked perfectly.
The next time i went onto my computer and tried to watch a video i got the same message so i downloaded flash again and noticed that i already had that version of flash, anyway it worked.
So then the next time i used my pc i got the message again but didnt bother downloading flash again i checked to make sure flash was enabled and it was then tried uninstalling then reinsstalling flash again but the problem persists.
I basically have to download flash again evry time i turn on my pc.
(I am using IE 8 but had the same problem with IE7)
(i am using Vista)

That is very strange; try this
download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe save to disk);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.

look at Safari-Help-Installed Plug-ins - does the flash plug-in show up there? just once? - could you copy/post the entry(s) for flash & shockwave here?.
Also look at your console & system logs after quitting/restarting safari & attempting to view those problem webpages - occasionally there's an entry there that helps identify the difficulty. If there is something - you might find this thread useful - esp the bit about rolling back QT
Finally ( for now ); even on single -user machines some people have found that /home/library/internet plug-ins/ folder has plug-ins inside it. Yours may well be empty, but if not - move the files somewhere else for now & quit/restart safari.

Note that the latest Flash Player update only works on YouTube with Safari in 32 bit mode - until YouTube correct this.

hi there, since i have reinstalled my laptop, i am having
problem watching online videos properly, its like sounds comes
perfect, the video slows down and even stuck, cant watch whats

Anyway, you have Firefox with the latest FP10 plug-in. Have
you verified this with the "Version Tester"

I ask these questions not to be mean, but to verify your
version and make you aware of the differences between IE FP
(ActiveX) and FF FP (plug-in). Also... the version checker will act
funky if you have 2 different FP versions installed, such as your
XP's OE IE and your added FF. Look in Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs. Do you see a previous version of FP there? You may need
to update your IE's FP as well, it could be conflicting with your
FFFP.
Another thing to check.... AVG8's Linkscanner has caused some
issues, mostly by slowing down site-loading. To test this, turn
off/diable that feature. Yes, it'll whine about it. (end of part 1)

I have flash player installed and recently no videos, for example youtube, will work on ANY browser. I have tried troubleshooting and resetting browsers and nothing has worked, I cant watch any videos, please help!

Flash player wont work in opera

A couple of days ago I asked for help with my flash player. The answer I got didn't work, I have a hp dv7 entertainment pc 32 bit laptop. I ended up uninstalling flash player and re installed it and got it working in firefox and Explorer but not in Opera. I have tested the flash player and it is working and I have it enabled in Opera but I still have to click to activate to play games. How do I fix this problem?

I use windows 8.1 with a 64-bit operating system and and a x64-based processor. The browser is Opera 11.0 and the Adobe Flash 16.0.0.305. When i attempt to view a video and a specific website the flash player displays its loading circle status before it would normally buffer but continues to load indefinitely and when i attempt to select a quality in the settings (which quality doesn't matter) the player displays a static like picture with he message: An error occurred please try again later, learn more.
