"Past Due - Will be installed", but the app never tries to install

I have gone over the existing threads and found none that fit my situation. Here is what I know:
The deadline has passed with a status of Past due - will be installed.
The deployment is targeted to a computer collection.
If I manually start the install, it works fine (no failures in the .exe or install process).
Running Application Deployment Evaluation cycle does not help.
The content is sitting in the ccmcache folder ready to go.
Resultant client settings show that "Additional software manages the deployment of applications and software updates" is not checked, so an errant client setting is not to blame.
AppEnforce.log shows no update since the application was discovered. Nothing else is popping out as a red flag in the AppIntentEval or AppDiscovery logs.
Rebooting did not help (sometimes pending reboots seem to get in the way.
Any ideas? This has been consistent problem in our environment, to the point that telling clients they can set up a required deployment sounds like I am not giving them the whole story.

Resultant client settings show that "Additional software manages the deployment of applications and software updates" is not checked, so an errant client setting is not to blame.
He has not enabled that.

  • I'll send an iMessage or SMS and it will say delivered, but the recipient never receives it.  Sometimes i'll send a message and it won't arrive until I send the recipient a second text sometimes hours later

iMessage will say "delivered" but it will not be received.  Also will sometimes send a text, and it will not go through until I send a subsequent text , sometimes hours later.  Like the first message was stuck in some sort of text limbo.  Happens sporadically but often enough to be an annoyance.  Already tried restore, resetting network settings, switching on or off iMessage, and calling verizon.  Does the +1 in front of my number have anything to do with it? any suggestions?

  • Add-in installed but Audio Wizard still tries to install

I have one PC running XP which has the adobe acrobat connect add-in installed. When I enter a meeting it launches this add-in and the browser states the meeting is being run in the add-in. I got to the troubleshooting and do a system test and it confirms the add-in is installed.
However, when I go through the audio set up wizard it states that I should install the add-in for maximum performance. When I try to do that via the install button,  it locks the browser an the add-in screen. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I, too, am experiencing this on multiple XP machines.  Upon running the Audio Setup Wizard, the initial dialog recommends installing "the latest Add-in", whether or not the Add-in is already installed or not.  This, in itself, would not be a problem, except that the session is hanging at the smaller "Loading Adobe Connect" screen.  This smaller window must be closed with the red "X" and the larger Adobe-icon branded screen must also be closed with the red "X".  It is then possible to relaunch the session by clicking the "Open session in another window" link in the IE 8 browser window that also states, "Session will be opened in the "Adobe Connect Add-in." (Forgive descrepencies in details; I am writing this from memory.)
I contacted an Adobe rep who agreed that in Connect 6, the Wizard did not offer to install the Add-in if it determined the Add-in was already installed, but that in Connect 7, it offered to install the latest Add-in regardless of the existence of the installed Add-in.  If it didn't hang, it would be only a minor waste of time.  As it happens on classroom machines with users already only marginally comfortable with the technology, I question the logic of the blind Add-in install, and want to know when Adobe will solve the hanging of the Add-in being installed on top of the Add-in.
Anyone else experiencing this in Connect 7?
Any chance it won't occur in Connect 7.5?
Could we manually install the Connect 7.5 Add-in even if our server is still at 7.0?
Thanks, in advance, for any insights.

  • Past due - will be installed

    Hi all,
we've been setting up app-deployment using SCCM 2012, and are going in to production in about a month. Now, we have a major problem.
None of the required apps are installing. They're simply stuck at "Past due - will be installed".
Indeed they are past due (all deployments are set to install as soon as possible), but absolutely nothing is happening (no it's not a matter of waiting, it's a dead halt). If we click 'install all required', everything installs perfectly. But obviously that's
    not an option.
The appenforce.log doesn't seem to be doing anything either; and it's not a problem with access to install source either; since all apps download fine, and THEN go into 'Past due...'.
I've also tried scheduling it to a time in the future, and then it just goes 'will be installed at (xx)' and once the deadline passes, it's 'past due' again.
So in summary; absolutely nothing is happening; and we've gone over the setup a million times, everything seems to be correct. We've also tried installing the agent on a clean (non-deployed) machine; virtual machines and with and without bitlocker. No difference.
We are seriously stuck. Help! :)

Bah, I don't have Reporting Services installed. Will check that.

  • Software Updates - Past Due - Will be Installed

I've got a major problem that I need help with asap.  All of our software updates are coming on the clients as "Past Due - Will be Installed".  This just started happening this week out of nowhere.  Application deployments and package
deployments work fine, it's only with software updates.  I've recreated deployments, recreated software update groups and deployment packages and such.
Everything online points to a in Client Settings that is "Agent extension manage the deployment of applications and software updates", but that is set to false and has never changed.  Again this is only for software updates, not for anything
else.  We're using System Center 2012 R2, HELP!

Are your software updates groups deployed?
Can you post a screen shot of the message from one of the clients?

I appreciate the reply, I'm in a major bind right now.  Here is the screenshot

  • Software Center - past - due will be installed & maintenance/business hours

    Hi All
I am struggling with some issues with installing software on clients.
Much of the software I have deployed can end up sitting in client software center as 'past due - will be installed' or 'pastdue - will be retried'.
They'll sit there until someone does something..meaning.. You need to manually start the deployment.. Then it installs fine.
I always set ' User Experience - When installation deadline is reached..... to "Software Installation" ticked.
There's apparently a client settings in Administration-->Client Settings->"computer Agent" which can affect the install as well "Additional Software manages the deployment......" this is set to "no".
Business hours on clients are set to 5-22.. I believe this is standard.
There is NO maintenance windows set for any of my collections.
What's strange is that some clients install software I deploy just fine.. while others I deploy to at the same time.. can leave the software as 'past due'. Meaning some clients install as they should while others end up in "past due".
Can someone guide me in the right direction..
    Kindest regards, Martin

    Hi Torsten..
    Good call..
This is what VLC player returns in monitoring->deployments:
Failed to locate content error 0x87d01107 Failed to access all the provided program locations. This program may retry if the maximum retry count has not been reached.
but again.. if I go to the client and click on "try again" .. it installs..
    Kindest regards, Martin

  • I just installed ios7 on my iPhone 4s.  It seems to be working fine but all of the apps I had previously installed are gone.  They show up in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts are gone.  Does anyone know how to get the shortcuts back?  Thanks!

I updated via my iPhone 4s.  The apps were on my iPhone 4s.  That's all the information that I have.  The update to ios7 seems to have gone smoothly - everything else is working, phone texting, email, internet, etc.  But all of the apps I had installed over the past year are no longer showing up as shortcuts.  No facebook, no twitter, no espn, etc.  They are all still listed in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts and my folders are gone.  Thanks.

Yes, if this is a permanent change. But you still have to have all the other changes - billing address, credit card, residence, etc. See Manage My Apple ID.

What model iPod do you have and what iOS is on the iPod?
    What is the specific app?
If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

    Hello Curtis,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to downlaod Mavericks.  I recommend emptying your trash and restarting your computer.  Once you have done that, navigat the the Purchased tab of the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks again:

  • FaceTime came with Lion already installed but it isn't shown as installed on the Apps Store...Help?

Facetime doesn't show as installed on the apps store but it normally comes with Lion 10.7 and Lion came pre-installed on my MacBook Pro. Does anyone know why is that? And how come the facetime installed doesn't connect to my iPhone 4 when I try to facetime call it?

It's a different version of Facetime. If you're running Lion, you have Facetime installed but it's not the same version as the one in the Mac App Store. I can assure you that having it show as not installed is normal; that's the way it is for every Mac on which I've installed Lion.
Be sure your brother and you are not using the same ID. You should be able to use an email-style address or a phone number.
I'm finding that establishing a Facetime link takes several seconds, so have a bit of patience - it's not instant. And once your Facetime partner accepts the connection, it takes another couple of seconds.
Be sure the iPhone is connected to your local wifi network, because Facetime will not work with cellular data connections under iOS 4. It will later this year under iOS 5.
