Past problem of getting signal fixed

How do I get Comcast to fix the signal to my home? Again, I have signal problems TO THE HOUSE that result from time to time in poor phone service (lots of static) that comes and goes. And my on demand box not recognizing my box ("Call comcast to sign up"). Last night, comcast didn't know my box, wanted me to "sign up". This morning, I once again have access to my on demand channels. This poor quality signal improved for a time when the ice storm hit, FORCING comcast to fix the outside cable. Now the problem is back again, and I feel like if they send that four eyed, 20 something year old to "tighten the cable" and BS me for the 3rd time, I will probably lose my temper. Same ******* who "installed" a nonworking internet (it worked long enough for him to RUN to my front door), and made me get a "repair" to fix his poor shoddy work. Tightening and replugging in my box will "repair" it for maybe a day, or an hour... long enough to get billed 80 (or more by now) for a repair IMPROPERLY done. How do I make comcast responsble in their repairs without wanting to do great bodily harm to the thin ******* sent here 3 out of 4 times? I have to replace my DVR box every six months because apparently it burns out DVRs, erasing all recorded shows. How do I do this without wanting to cancel my account? I swear they send that ******* again, I will hurt him. Pale, with brown curly hair, dark frame glasses... Lansing area. Anyone know his name? Send the old fat coffee complexion guy... he at least FIXED the cable. Don't send the ******* here! While this suggestions seems to have helped the OP, can anyone rationalize how turning this feature OFF would actually help? I find that with this feature enabled, my positioning is extremely quick, even inside a buiding structure. Using integrated GPS (only), satlocks are back to their usual, long time.

Problems with getting signal to my Video Mixer with DVI to Comp adapter

hi, i have a MacBook Pro and a G5 Quadcore with an NVidia7800GT card. i am trying to get my G5 to detect my Edirol V4 video mixer. the MBP sees it immediately. the G5 cannot detect it!
what i have tried so far:
- swapped the DVI-Comp adapters i have on the MBP with the G5
- tried the DVI to VGA adapter - works fine on the G5
- swapped out cables (even though they are brand new)
i have a show on the weekend and need to solve this asap. can anyone help me figure out why the G5 won't detect the V4??

well normally i run using a dual output, where the external monitor is a VGA switcher or a video mixer. i run the video mixing software on my desktop monitor and the second monitor is the video mixed output.
up to now i have only used DVI to VGA and it always worked. but i just picked up a better mixer and its inputs are composite. so i bought the DVI to comp adapters. as stated the MBP sees the V4 immediately. the G5 screen flashes but there is no detection.

The computer (top / back of monitor) gets really hot within minutes.

How old is the iMac?
With no backup, you have probably lost all your data.
Sounds like serious hardware problem for which you are going to have to take it to Apple for an estimate of repairs.

I fixed a similar problem on my Audi after hours of struggle!!!
I turned off Siri from settings. I deleted bluetooth pairing with my car ("forget this device"). I re-established bluetooth connection. I turned Siri back on. All fine (so far).
It seemed to be Siri related.
If this works for the rest of you kindly pass it along to one or two of the other 1000 posts on this issue. People are very frustrated right now. Its not just Audi and Lexus and Ford - its every make/model on the planet! This one is not obvious.

Verizon just sends me a new router but the problem never gets fixed

I'll tell you about my problem and I just need to know where and how to start diagnosing the issue so i can get this fixed because fios customer service tells me there isnt an issue or just sends me a router but my lag issue gets so bad i cant even use the internet, my phone goes faster.
So I upgraded my fios to quantum and it was fine for a while but lately there has been alot of strang lag and it happens very randomly, I get lag on all of my computers in my home when it happens. While playing video games my connection goes from green to red and i lag for about half a second and back to green and this goes on and on every couple seconds. I also have slow web browsing and downloading is almost non-existant. But there are times I can have all 5 computers on and playing video games and downloading at the same time and never get a hint of lag.
This has been going on for months, I have gotten 5 new routers and had a tech come out once, but when he was here the issue wasnt happening.
Here are the details:
While playing my video game my latency is normaly ~20ms and during this issue it will start out at ~20ms but jumps every couple seconds up to about ~150 ms or higher and I lag in game.
I have 4 computers wired and 1 wireless, only 1 computer is currently on.
I tested on every computer and all are the having the same issue so i know its not the computer.
I have 75/35 fios quantum.
I ran the verizon speed test and got:
4.15 mbps download
37.85 mbps upload
12 ms latency
please help me! customer service cant help at all or just tell me nothing is wrong, but there is

The low download speed could be cluing into the problem.
How do your MoCa signal levels look? We can get an idea of how they are by looking at the link speed between all of your devices. See this FAQ on how to get this info.

Otherwise, have you asked Verizon how the Fiber signal levels are for the ONT? Know of any neighbors seeing similar problems? Could be a bad OLT Line card, too.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. and since the last update the lock button no longer works, this has caused it to have a lot of problems now like freezing all the time, kicking me out of almost all my apps, some times even when if locks on its own its not locked and buttons with be pushed in my pocket, and this causes the battiery to die fast. I really love my ipod and would like to just get it fix if possible for a reasonable about of money. Only Apple knows the answer to whether or not there is a verified problem and if so when will a fix be released. As is their custom, Apple does not talk about these things and the rules of these communities prohibit speculation about future udates or upgrades. It is probably safe to say if a fix is deemed necessary it will be called OS X 10.8.6.

I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.

Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
And driver? OS X driver?

Maybe try one of the WiFi transfer Apps? There are several to choose from. I use Photosynch quite often to send photos and videos between my computer(s), my iPhone, and iPad.
