Paste code on the forum

Hi,
This question is not related to this forum, per se, but many times I face difficulty in asking question where I need to paste some sample code on this forum. How to paste the code so that it gets formatted properly rather than just seeing unformatted code on the screen which makes it difficult to read? Any html tag to be used?
Thanks

  • Pasting Code into this forum

    Hi, I'm a noob. How do I paste code into a discussion, and have it actually look like code.
    Thanks!

    The {code} block doesn't wrap long lines, but it does add a scroll bar if the line gets too long (really long).
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    font-weight: normal;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 480px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #B5FF6C;
    overflow: auto;">
    I use an AppleScript that's been tweaked over time to add various formatting</pre>
    - it uses an HTML <pre> block. The script has several options, including the color and size of the block (I like to keep messages relatively small) - it is available here.
    rccharles also posted a script in the User Tips Library with similar ideas (and a message reply link formatter I borrowed).

  • Option to paste screenshots in the Forums

    Hello,
            According to me, it would be really a great help if we can also insert some screenshots in the forum Question and answer. I also understand that this enhancement may take lot of server space .....but our bottom line for providing SDN Forums is to provide a Quick and realible solution to the members....!
    EnjoySAP

    Screenshots can be added as attachments in the wiki.
    That is the appropriate place to house them.

  • How do i format my code in the forum?

    I cant remember?
    someone sent me a link... before
    its something like [p] [p] but that isnt correct

    To be fair, the design guidelines for this site seem to include the rule: "every link pointing to useful information that will show up again and again in forum questions, must appear only at the end of a long paragraph of tedious boilerplate copy"

  • Code Formating after Forum Software Upgrade

    Hello SCN Forum Administrators,
    it seems that all code formating which was done with the
    [code]
    Tags was not automatically converted during the Forum Software Upgrade. What can I do to correct my code in the Forum Topic Re: Display ALV GRID with PHP? The message was posted by myself but I can't edit it.

    Hi all,
    the new forum version does contain a filter that can handle the old &#91;code&#93; tags. The problem was that we had to turn it off because it permanently ran into Stackoverflow errors and thus bringing the whole landscape into trouble.
    Now we have to convert all the old &#91;code&#93; markup in all messages with the new &#123;code&#125; markup. We are currently testing this.
    In other words: &#91;code&#93; is no longer supported, the usage of &#123;code&#125; is recommended.
    Regards,
    Michael

    Can you paste it anywhere else? Desktop for example?
    You might also try pasting in in the forum box using Command-V

    Did you try to paste by right-clicking or by typing Ctrl + V ?
    Sometimes the former doesn't work but the latter works.  -- My own experience.

  • How to paste screen shot in the forum editor

    please help
    how to paste screen shot in the forum editor

    Do you see the "Attach Files" button in between the "Preview" and "Post Message" buttons when posting a question or reply?
    This is how you would attach an image, you can't embed it into the text here.  Also,  I thought that the "Attach Files" functionality had been removed for performance reasons, but you can try it if you see the button.

  • Why is my location city changed by Firefox to a town I don't live in? I put in my zip code in the weather info and it will not hold it no matter what I do. This is very frustrating and never a problem in the past. IE doesn't have the problem. Help?

    1) Is it a video clip? Something you recognize?  To be clear, it's displaying at a point in your exported movie but doesn't appear at all in the sequence?
    2) What are your sequence settings?  Right-click your sequence and choose "Item Properties" to verify.

    I have a Samsung Network Extender, model SCS-2U01, and for the past two weeks, the SYS light has gone from solid blue to a blinking red light, disconnecting me from my business calls. In reading the forums, it was mentioned that Verizon had to reset something on their end to fix the issue. Would you be able to confirm if something needs to be reset to fix the issue? Thank you!

    First, try the normal stuff: power cycle your modem, router, and NE allowing time for each component to stabilize before turning on the next in sequence modem > router > NE. If necessary, try resetting your modem and router. If it still doesn’t work verify it is listed in MyVerizon and then calling Verizon Wireless Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. Good luck!

  • How to Find unused programs / T-codes for the past three months

    How to find the unused programs / transaction codes for the past three months,
    I tried with the ST03 Transaction but it gives only the Tcodes, program used in last one monthu2026
    Regards,
    Purshoth

    This depends on the data retention time (in days) maintained in your system. In ST03, on the right hand side, check "Collector" tab, under that "Performance Database" and then "Reorganization" which will give you the details retention times  (in days).

  • Pls why when I put my billing address the post code is Mark red as wrong past code and it's the correct billing address??

    I try to pay online payment at apple stores but the postcode is Mark red when the past code is correct I try to pay but it's not accepting the postcode only NN38XA

    Folks in the US  with this recent problem have found that running the address through the ZIP code finder at the USPS website can solve the issue. It seems to be the format. Use the page like you are trying to find the ZIP for the address and then cut & paste the address exactly as the USPS formats it into your account in the iTunes Store.

  • What if I want to link to an image on an external site, such as Pixentral or Flickr, instead of uploading the image to the Forum server?

    Flickr's Terms of Service  state that if you post an image hosted on Flickr on another site you have to  link back to the image page on Flickr. To do that you  need to go to your image  on Flickr, click on the All Sizes link above the image,  select the size image  you want, then Copy the HTML code from the first box of code underneath the  image. Then, in the Forum's Rich Text Editor, click on  the >> button/icon  and select Insert Raw HTML. This will open a frame  within your message where  you paste the HTML code you copied from the Flickr  site. Then continue on with  composing your forum message and click “Post Message”  to post the message to  the forum system.
    For Pixentral images, you  will need to go to http://www.pixentral.com and upload your image following the  instructions there. You do NOT have to check the box to make images public. Once  your image is uploaded there copy the HTML code from the box below your image.  Then, in the Forum's Rich Text Editor, click on  the >> button/icon and  select Insert Raw HTML. This wil open a frame within your message where you  paste the HTML code you copied from the Pixentral site. Please note that there  is an extra "/" character in the Pixentral URL that will prevent the image from  showing up, so you need to make one change to the HTML that you copied from the  Pixentral site. The beginning of the HTML code  will look something like  this:
    <a href="http:www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=16xx5748rt9fhd"/>
    Please remove the slash that appears between the quotes and the greater  than symbol so that this  part of the HTML code looks like this:
    <a href="http:www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=16xx5748rt9fhd">
    Then continue on with  composing your forum message and click “Post Message” to  post the message to  the forum system.

    @ adobe-admin (J.C.?):
    Thanks for fixing the "backslash" error. Accuracy is important, and doubly so when presented as an F.A.Q.
    The sad thing is how prevalent the usage of "backslash" is when a plain old slash is meant (generally, the "forward" attribute is assumed and unneeded), and by people who should know better. It's a direct result of people knowing just barely enough about the Windows file path naming protocols, and then applying the only terminology they're familiar with incorrectly to URLs.
    I went about 10 rounds—TWICE!—with a labyrinthian succession of people at the Discovery & History cable TV networks because they were saying "backslash" in voice overs whenever their commercials promoted their websites. It took some doing, but I finally got in touch with somebody who was savvy enough to recognize that it was a rookie mistake made by a clueless marketing copywriter. The voice over person just read the copy they were given, oblivious to the difference. It amazes me that it wasn't caught by somebody early in the recording/production process and rectified.
    They then had it correct for about a year, until new commercials started popping up with the same error. Unfortunately, the person I had talked to previously no longer worked for the History channel and I had to go through the process of finding someone who understood all over again.
    Yeah, you can call me a nitpicker with nothing better to do.
    But I've earned that dang badge, and I wear it proudly!
