Pasted layer is solid white

Hi all, I am experiencing an unprecedented problem in Photoshop CC (latest version, just updated).
Whenever I'm copying and pasting a photo layer from one document onto a previously created .psd file, the pasted layer appears as a solid white frame instead of the actual photograph.
However, if the copied layer is pasted onto a new document, it works just fine.
I should mention that color profiles of both the source photograph and receiving document are matching and that I've been working with this procedure for a long time, to insert photographs into a previously made template.
Any hints or help much appreciated! Thank you.

Thanks for the replies you guys. It's not hardware related Mylenium. My machine was purpose built for AE work and this is a very simple comp that is nothing remotely as intensive as some of the truly complex and effects ladened projects I've done before. It's even simpler than the one in the same project where the other adjustment layer is working properly. The layer is going white before an effect is even being added, so it's not that. I'll double check the OpenGL when I can get back on my machine in a bit, but I never changed anything before changing comps, so I don't think that's it.
I'm guessing that it is probably related to the layer settings itself. There's no 3D layers so it's not that Dave. I'm going to check Rick's idea when I can because the white solid behavior sounds exactly what he is talking about.

Adjustment Layer is a white solid

I am having a very strange issue adding an adjustment layer I can't resolve. I have added adjustment layers thousands of times, but have never had this happen. I am using CS5 and in one of my comps when I add an adjustment layer it appears as a white solid instead of the usual completely transparent adjustment layer. Even when I copy and paste an adjustment layer that is appearing correctly from another layer, that pasted one behaves the same way and simply becomes a white solid. I have quit AE just to see if it was weird hiccup, but that comp still behaves them same way.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know what is going on?

Colored texture pasting as black and white into a layer mask

Hello all,
First time poster, long time lurker here.
I'm pasting a colored layer into a layer mask I created in order to texturize a shape I made. Whenever I Option + Click the layer mask and then paste the texture, it pastes in black and white instead of color, see screen capture below (pardon the watermark):

If you want to add a texture to a shape, create a new layer, fill it with your texture, then ALT+click their separation line in the layers panel.
This creates a what is called a Clipping Mask: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/revealing-layers-clipping-masks.html.

When talking about a specific image posting the image may be useful.
One can use a Layer Mask and add a white Layer underneath.

Macbook Pro will not sleep if inactive. Indicator is solid white.

I've done a bit of troubleshooting without favorable results. Here's the situation: The Macbook will not go to sleep from inactivity. If I close the lid it sleeps just fine, but it won't if I set the computer to sleep after a period of inactivity.
Take this example. Display sleep set to 10 min, computer sleep set to 15 min. At 10 minutes the screen will go black and the indicator will become solid white. At 15 minutes nothing changes and the computer will stay in this state perpetually.
I've rebooted the computer without opening any apps and this all still occurs. I've also checked the system with "pmset -g" and everything looks good. Here is the output from my most recent test.

Why is there a solid white line on left "border" of iphone 4 display screen?

A solid white line appeared on the left of the screen a few hours ago, from top to bottom of my iphone4 display.
It is almost as if the whole screen is off center by 1 mm. I have tried to restart hard-power off, even restored it. Help!

This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
1. Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
2. Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
3. If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaper and slide the slider.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

Anchored frames exported as images are solid white

Hello,
I have FrameMaker 8.0p277 on Windows XP (one machine SP2, one SP3), and am trying to use Mif2Go to create a CHM/HTML Help menu. The problem I'm having is that some of my anchored frames are being converted to .jpgs that are solid white. Not all of them, just some - mostly, those that are relatively large (they vary, but 300 x 400 pixels would be one of the larger ones).
Mif2Go is looking into the issue, but it's starting to look like I might be running into a memory limit within FrameMaker?
Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is there any way around it aside from not using FrameMaker's filters?

By completely uninstalling and reinstalling TCS, I was able
to alter my filter selections. In the re-install, everything was
selected by default. This time I just left everything selected.
Then in RH I built a completely new project. Unfortunately,
the generated images are still blank when viewed in RH or PaintShop
Pro. I've tried specifying JPG and BMP, but the result is the same.

Copy/Paste Layer Style Bug

Really, you guys didn't fix the copy/paste layer style bug in 13.0.2. Wow, easily reproduced, there is an adobe recommended workaround, meaning very aware of the problem, and couldn't fix it for this update, very sad Adobe, very sad. Can you let us know when this will be fixed?

The 13.0.2 update was targeted to fix one specific bug. It was not intended to be a general bug-fix update.
We are testing a fix now for the layer styles bug and others, and we intend to include these fixes in the next general update, which is currently slated for release in less than two months.

Making layer of photo whiter without losing clarity of type

Can anyone please explain to me how to make the envelope layer in the file whiter (less yellow) without losing the clarity of the type? Thanks!

Does Image - Adjust - Curves (or using a Curves layer), choosing the white point eyedropper, then clicking on the beige envelope not give you an acceptable result?
After doing the above, you can drag down on the middle of the curve if you want things a bit darker.

IPhone Solid White Screen

I had been having some software issues with my iPhone and decided to restore it using iTunes. The phone reset and started syncing all of my apps and contacts back on. I walked away and came back about ten minutes later and the screen had turned a solid white. The phone was non-responsive and was not showing up in iTunes. So I hard reset it using the power and home buttons, the screen went black. Now the phone will not turn on. I tried plugging it into my iMac again and it won't recognize the phone, nor will the phone respond. I also tried plugging it into a power outlet and the phone still won't respond. Please help!

My Iphone screen went solid white last night and i was worried that i had killed it because i was at a pool. However, later i felt the phone vibrating so i picked it up and accidentally swiped across the screen (apparently where the unlock slide is) and i started to hear someone talk on the speaker phone. Now i can receive calls and guess my way to my ipod. So the screen itself is either the part that is messing up or the part of the electronics that controls the imaging. I have tried all the different functions i can to reset it: reset, reboot, hard reset and none of them work making me think that its not software but hardware. Going to genius bar today to have it looked at. I'll update this as soon as i get an answer.

HELP IPhone Solid White Screen?!?

So my phone froze up and has a solid white screen. I have read other posts where people all it the "screen of death" My phone is still under warranty so I sent it to have it repaired. But Apple is saying they will not repair it as they diagnosed accidental misuse or damage. WHAT ON EARTH CAN I DO?? Can I dispute it?

first try doing a restore others are having issues with the moisture sensor and if it is so sensative that sweat will set it off apple will find no one wanting their phone first the software mess now the sensors and nokia lawsuit they better fix this mess we paid a lot of money for thease phones and just as their financial gains were met they can easily lose if customers are unhappy and company that wants to stay ontop has to have #1 good customer service #2 good product problem free #3 good warranty and thats just good buisness sense.

Sharp solid white type against black backgorund ...

I'm very new to PSE and also creating web pages. I'm building a web page with Build Your Site. I'm creating a file in PSE to put in the web site. It will have a black background and the type will be white. When I place it in the web page the type does not come out solid or sharp so it hard to read. How can I create sharp, crisp type against a black background in PSE? Thanks.

Thank you, and yes, I've been doing that and selecting a script font which is the one I want to use: Montez. It is a sufficiently thick font yet, as you can see (hopefully in this screen shot), the white is not solidly white. Is there a way of making the type more solidly white? Or some other way to make this font more readable in white against black?

Ipod Classic has a solid white backlit display

my iPod has a solid white backlit display all the time (from the time i first time i opened the case).
i've tried resetting it about a million times...
i've even tried restoring it using both my macbook pro (Leopard 10.5.7, running itunes 8.2) as well as a windows machine (running XP SP3 with itunes 8.x), but the problem still persists.
ive also tried all the steps mentioned in apple support knowledge base article number 303545.
please help me out here,

Keying people onto those solid white backgrounds

This should be on the Web at digitaljuice.com; look for articles by author Charlie Burket.
They shot on superb media, 720PN/P2 cards into FCP. Placed the subject (video 2) on top of a solid white matte background (v1). Luma key. Tweak.
To check the quality of the key, he replaced the white b/g with solid red.
Cropping the edges of the subject and positioning was done carefully.
It was that simple.

if it is not powering up on battery or AC, then there is either something wrong on the motherboard keeping it from powering up, or a bad power switch. I personally have not encountered a bad power switch on any of my Toshibas, so I would suspect something with the motherboard. It is strange that it does indicate that your plugged in and charging. If you leave the power adapter plugged in, does the battery status eventually go white?
