Pasting Album Art into Get Info

i have 2 albums in itunes that will not accept album art .... period (kind of blue and by davis and ambient 1 by eno ... not that i see how that matters)
i copy the album art from a google search
select all tunes, right click "get info" and then paste into the album art box
but these two will not keep the art ... they won't show anything at all where art should be
tried onyx to run scripts and fix and repair permissions
nothing works ...
any ideas appreciated

Are these files WAV?
WAV files do not have tags.

Just added new art to two albums in iTunes v7. One the old way (Google Images then a drag and drop) and the other asking iTunes to get it for me. Only the art that was added manually has moved over to the iPod, which is 5th Generation 30GB.
It's not the worst thing in the world seems as I never had that art before anyways. I'm sure an update will be out soon it is a .0 release and I imagine they is lots of things under the hoot getting us ready for OS X 10.5.

ITunes showing correct album art in "get info" but album previews still wrong.

I've looked through countless iTunes album art threads yet I still can't figure this problem out.
In my itunes library I have one album which doesn't display the correct preview artwork, yet when I check each track the listed artwork is correct. I've tried deleting the itunes album artwork cache, using doug's applescripts, and deleating and readding the tracks, yet nothings worked.

Any ideas?

Maybe the album artowork cache needs to be refereshed.
Quit iTunes and open your iTunes library folder and then open album artwork. Delete the cache folder in there, and then re launch iTunes
See how that works.

The control click and external mouse right click no longer works when copying and pasting album art within itunes. Ex. Hit get info for one song to paste to the rest, copying the artwork wont work when it used to.

When I try to "Get Track Names" or "Get Album Art," the wrong info or no info is retrieved

I'm using the latest iTunes and Lion OS.
I have many songs from long ago (not downloaded from iTunes) which have incorrect album names, etc., and I want to clean them up, but when I enter the correct info and select "Get Album Art" or "Get Track Names," either nothing is found or the incorrect information is returned, respectively.
For example, I have a song:
Artist: James Taylor
Album: Greatest Hits
Name: Mexico
It does not have the associated Album Art, nor does it have the rest of the information like Track, Year, etc. It just has the Track Name, Album Name and Artist Name. I want to update this to show that it is from the original Album, "Gorilla," so I right-click and select Info, and I fill in the Album Name as "Gorilla." When I right-click and select "Get Album Art," it tells me: "Artwork for "James Taylor - Gorilla" could not be found - though it exists in iTunes. When I right-click and select "Get Track Names," the item is updatd, and now it reads:
Artist: America
Album: Mellow Rock Hits Of The 70s: Summer Breeze
Name: A Horse With No Name
When I rename everything to "James Taylor," "Mexico," and "Gorilla," and select either "Get Album Art" or "Get Track Names," I get the exact same thing: no album artwork found, and it renames it to America.
What is happening? What am I doing wrong? Do I have the wrong expectations of the two right-click options?

I don't think CDDB and iTunes Store is the same. The CDDB gets information for CDs only (not collections of tracks made from a CD) and uses CD features such as track lengths (exact, which could be modified by a fraction of a second when you make a MP3) track count, etc. It doesn't use any information such as artist, track name. From what Mike Johnson12 was saying it seems that ITMS uses the base tag information to identify the track fully.
I have never used iTunes Store to label a track so I can't provide information there. I have no idea what criteria it uses, but for other id3 tag application and iTunes, by "exact" we mean exact. Letter case is important, and I have even found that sometimes font can make a difference.
For album artwork I do a Google search, then restrict the finds to images and select the best quality I can find. This is also the biggest in terms of file size so I only attach the image to one file in a track. When playing iTunes on the computer it displays that image for all tracks in that album.

Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the center of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)
The new icon is the least of the changes.

Copy and paste album art in iTunes 12 for Mac

So I can copy and paste on my Windows version of iTunes 12. But I can't copy in paste album art from the web on iTunes for Yosemite. I have to save the image to my laptop and then click the add artwork button inside Get Info.
Anyone else have this annoying issue?
*edit* Tried moving this out of the iPhone section to iTunes for Mac but was unable to sorry.

With iTunes open , click command - i. Click on artwork in the open box and drag art into it, been doing all night...

Why can't I copy/paste album art in latest version of iTunes?

I have the latest version of iTunes and I am unable to copy/paste album art from the internet. Whenever I try to copy/paste album art from Amazon, it just displays a blank box. I was able to copy/paste album art just fine before the last iTunes update. Any suggestions?

Artwork seems to cut/paste in my situation, but does not "attach" to the file so the icons appear as generic in a list view or when viewing the file using "get info". Also noticed that cut and paste does not work for text in the comments window either, especially if the copied text contains style changes (underlines, etc.) or hyperlinks.
Also, if importing AIFF files into iTunes, the song that plays upon import (usually the highest numbered track) will not accept artwork no matter what, unless you convert to another file type (like AAC). The only workaround is to make a copy of the last song, rename it with a higher track number, then import both at the same time. Then just delete the higher numbered track. This has been an on again/off again problem for at least the last 3-4 versions of iTunes.

I have a Zen V Plus and don't know how to put album art on songs that are already on the player...

You have to append the artwork to the actual music files themselves. What I do is search Amazon.com for the album that the songs are off of, click the artwork so it expands and then right click the larger artwork and COPY.
Then in iTunes go into "get info" on the song, and paste the artwork in the artwork tab. This will append it to the file. Yeah yeah i know it isn't technically legal to "copy" the artwork but I honestly don't give a rat's a$$ about doing it and neither should you.
(...cue finger-waving "shame on you, you're breaking the law" post...)
Then once you transfer this song you put the artwork on to your nano, it should show up there when you play the song. At least this works for me on my 30GB iPod video.

I ran into the same problem, I think that, If you tab on a song that is on your IPOD, and the song data is grayed-out, I think it means that the song is probably twice on your IPOD and that the iTunes directory can not edit THAT song data for two (or more) files @once. Check if this is the case, sinceI have the same problem,am looking for a way to have One and the same song in more playlists but only keep the song once on the IPOD.

Itunes 12 will not allow you to paste album covers into the get info section of albums or indivial songs it makes you go to another area on your computer

I tried to do a cut and paste like I used to do for album covers that iTunes doesn't carry( go figure) and the 12 version wont let you instead it has a window pop up for pictures that your suppose to direct it to get the artwork from. That's a lot of work! All I can say is simplify and do more research before the next release. also iTunes has always had problems freezing up. This verion and past verisons. I'd go to a different player put I've already invested thousands of dollars in my iTunes media and the earlier stuff doesn't play on different players. So here I am stuck.

Best way for getting album art into iTunes/iPod?

First of all, when you pull the track listing down from Gracenote when importing CDs, does the album art come with it? I don't see any art. And then if not, what is the best source for getting a low resolution digital file for each CD imported and how do you make sure it will make it to your iPod from iTunes? Is there any easy or streamlined process? Also, do the low resolution files add up for each song and take up hard-drive space? Thanks for any input.

I believe that copying directly into the iTunes box
will use more space on your HD than going via the
desktop.
It's the other way round.
If you copy it to your Desktop then it takes space there and if you then copy it to iTunes it gets added to the music file making that bigger.
Of course, if you delete it from the Desktop and empty the Trash then you won't have it taking space.

Can't cut/paste album art

For some time now I have been adding/changing album cover art by cut/paste from an internet image search and then using "Get Info" to add the art. Now suddenly I can't. I can't get the Paste function to add the art. Has something changed in the last 2 days? Win7 x64, Pro.

I, also, use Chrome. I tried saving the image (.jpg) to my desktop and doing my copy/paste from there with no luck. My audio files are .mp3. All the blank album images I've tried all refuse to accept the paste. I've been having no problems with this update until recently.
Clue 1: I had a problem trying to edit the info on an album because the screen was grayed-out. It turned out to be a user permission problem. When I reset I could revise but I could also cut/paste an image...this album only.
Clue 2: I just tried copying a download directly in iTunes master music file before I added it into iTunes. It came in clean and afterwards I could cut/paste an image...this album only.

Can't drag album art into iTunes

iTunes doesn't always let me drag album art (images downloaded from Internet) into the art box. When I do it, and then click again on the information box for the album in iTunes, no art appears.(Then when I used the Get Album Art function on iTunes, I believe it wiped out all of the album art that had successfully been transferred into iTunes. Any help would be appreciated.

This has been reported a lot, check your Vista permissions on your entire iTunes folder (or wherever you store the song files).

How do I show album artist in get info?

I have an audiobook that is split into two files, Part 1 and Part 2. One of these files shows the album artist in the Details panel of Get Info, while the other doesn't. Apart from having different chapter names, these files appear identical in Get Info. The problem is that they now have different album artists, and therefore, don't combine as a single album in iTunes. I need to change the inaccessible Album Artist info to match the one I can access. Does anyone know how to do this?

One thing puzzles me, though. This latest version of iTunes now has a Narrator field in the Details page, but I cannot put anything into it. Weird!...
