Pasting text into "Location" field produces messed-up results

Almost every time I copy a string of text containing a street address from an email, website, etc., and paste it into the "location" field in a new iCal event, I end up with 2 or more little ovals that each contain pieces of the address, usually out of order.
For example, I was just invited to something taking place at "2151 California St., NW, Apt. 403" -- iCal turned this into three ovals, reading:
(2151 California St.) (Apt. 403) (NW)
My only recourse seems to be to open TextEdit, paste the string into there first, edit out all the commas, and copy the edited string and paste that into iCal. That's a lot of work for a very simple task. Would there really be a downside to just allowing a text string to appear the way it was pasted?
Also, I could really use a "cancel" button when creating a new event. Sometimes I accidentally double-click on a date, creating an unintended event, and I have to click "Done", then delete the new event. It's a small thing, but it's a little annoying.

This only happens for me in a Google CalDAV calendar. In local calendars it works as expected.
It appears that the software (possibly a combination of iCal and GCal) is deciding it is a list of items and if you re-open the event after you can see it replaces the comma for a semi-colon. This is compounded in that Google Calendar add exclamation to signify the address isn't found.
To delete an accidental event, try pressing the 'esc' key then the 'delete' key.
For both of these you may get better results telling Apple (http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html), as this is a user to user forum.

When I highlight\right-click\delete "Pic" then attempt to paste the ABC, I get either no reaction, or upon multiple paste attempts, the ABC is appended to the end of the file, after the extension, as "Pic123.jpgABC". If I delete this unwanted suffix, or repeat the process several times, eventually I can delete the unwanted portion of the prefix and paste the desired text. Sometimes it works fine first try, but mostly it takes several tries. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 but the problem existed in whatever previous version I had too. This issue only occurs when using the delete/paste; I can always manually change the name by typing. Thank you for your help.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

A possible cause is that the server sends a wrong response header.
The server may not comply to RFC 5987 and sends a wrong Content-Disposition:attachment; filename header.

I can't paste text into info boxes anymore with the latest version of itunes

Ever since I downloaded the latest version of itunes (on Windows 7), I can no longer paste text into the info boxes when I edit song information. I can’t paste by right-clicking or Ctrl+V, this is driving me crazy because I’m trying to add info on a Russian artist with Cyrillic letters and I can’t do it! I didn’t buy the song from itunes so it can’t be issues with Copyrighting although the same thing happens with songs from the store and every other song in my library. I can paste text into the lyrics section but that’s it. I restarted my computer after reinstalling the latest versions of itunes and Firefox today hoping it would fix my problem but it didn’t. Is this happening to anyone else? I hope someone can help me! Oh and it isn’t just with Russian, I tried to paste English info just to see if it was a problem with recognizing Cyrillic and still nothing pastes, the boxes just stay blank.
Itunes is annoying me more than ever. With the constant updates you’d think they would be able to improve all bugs but once one problem is fixed another occurs and it’s so irritating because I couldn’t care less about how my library looks as long as everything is organized in a simple way and I can sync my ipod without spending forever on itunes re-editing stuff and readjusting to updated layout changes. Apple’s attempts at making things look “cool” isn’t worth the F-ing constant problems which matter more! Okay, rant over

That would be Manually manage, not Manually syncing.
Click the drop down arrow at top left the Show menu.
Then iTunes menu View > Show sidebar.

Always mention your JDev version.
The valueChangeListener would fire only when you set the autoSubmit property of the field to true. Can you elaborate your requirement? What do you mean by related data? Are you performing some sort of search?
If you want to get the value you entered on the field, just set autoSubmit to true and get the new value from the valueChangeListener. Inserting text into a field at the current cursor position

Does anyone know how to insert text into a field at the current cursor position? I would like it to work similar to the Syntax Palette in Forms. I cannot figure out how to retrieve the current cursor position in order to manipulate the text.
Any help would be great.

If the button and the textfield are on in the same subform then this code should work in the click event of the button
(This is JavaScript code so make sure the code is set to JavaScript and Client on the drop downs in the script window)
(assuming the name of the textfield is TextField1)
TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
If they are in different subforms then you have 2 options
Please note in both these options it is easier if the subforms have names ( I am assuming this to keep samples simple)
option 1 -
use the parent object to move up the tree till you are at the same level as that of the subform that contains the textfield
e.g.
(Click Event of the button)
this.parent.subformname.TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
option 2 -
Use the resolve node to make your way down from the top level of the form
xfa.resolveNode ("form1.subformname.TextField1").rawValue = "some value";

How to copy and paste text into email without HTML gibberish

I've had trouble for some time now copying and pasting text into and out of yahoo emails. I can't just copy and paste text, I have to first transfer to Word for Mac and then paste into a yahoo email. Then I end up with what looks like three lines of HTML gibberish at the start of the pasted text each time. Isn't there a clean and direct way of copy and paste of text into and from emails in yahoo? No other email I work with has this problem, and the Safari browser doesn't give this same issue

I have to agree with bmalmquist. Need for Speed seems to work great on the Playbook. I didn't buy the Playbook to play games though. RIM needs to shift their focus from games to useful and productive apps. The apps I need to use are either missing very important features, or are just completely missing. It is somewhat disconcerting to see new apps appear in App World only to discover that the new apps are mostly games. I'm seeing lots of apps that would help me waste time, but very few that will actually help me be more productive.

Cannot paste text into a text layer in Photoshop

Since a couple of days ago I cannot paste text into a photoshop text layer from any other source, like safari, word etc.
I get an "popup error"-window in swedish (my language) saying something like "Could not complete the paste text command because the clipboard data was invalid or missing."
Anyone having the same issue? Or maybe a fix on the problem? Of course i've tried restarting photoshop and also the computer. Running Mac OS X Yosemite and the latest Photoshop CC 2014.

Using numberd buttons to enter text into a field

Hi all, was wondering if I had 10 seperate sprites acting as
buttons on a page, which will be numbered 0 -9, is it possible to
use them to enter text into a field. e.g.
If the user presses the sprite with a number 1 on it, would

You can create a behavior that will allow you to set a
variable for each
button. When you assign the behavior to your button sprite,
it'll

Cannot paste text into Dreamweaver after the fancy new version changes

After the latest update I can no longer paste text into dreamweaver. I'm sure it's because of some corrupted file but don't know where to find and make that correction.

ICal bug: cannot copy/paste into location field of exchange 2007 calendar

when you copy text from any application (cmd C) and then try to paste it into de location field of a new or existing appointment of a calendar synchronizing with an exchange 2007 account in iCal 4.0, then .... well nothing happens. You can paste it in a subject or a notes field but not in de location field.

My experience as well (hooked into google calendar), and a frustrating one. I assume this is related in some way to the "yellow exclamation point in edit mode - can only select entire block"? I see that normal "on my mac" calendar locations don't have the yellow exclamation point, and I can select any portion of the text. What's up with this? Is iCal suggesting that google's "Where" field is incompatible somehow? Yet there seems to be no trouble exchanging data between the two...

Win 7, explorer. Cut and paste from any text source (Word, Notepad, Explorer) has the same result. As an example, In this form window I cannot paste. But, If I open a new discussion, toggle the HTML button, I can paste. . For some reason the reply form does not have the HTML button. So, it might be a Java/browser thing - something is disabled.....
I'll try Chrome and see if the same thing happens.
I can cobble around it, but I've never seen this in any other HTML form before...

Is there a way to stop iCal moving address info from event text into 'location'??

Hi, I've just come back to the forum after a long time away, so sorry if this has already been covered, but...
When I create a new event in iCal and type in text which includes an address, the address segnment is automatically moved into 'location'. I find this infuriating as for work reasons I later need to copy and paste all the event text into another app, and the address is now in a different place! As an additional irritation, iCal also screws with the address text and switches the postal code into upper and lower case, so I have to re-type part of it when I move it back into the main event text. Any way to stop this happening? Thanks!

as far as i understand iCal it is on the "receivers/subscribers" side to deal with email-updates (and not on the "senders/changers" side):

Cannot paste text into After Effects CS4

I've searched all over and I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious; but how do you copy and paste text from one program into an active text box in AE CS4?
I'm adding credits to a video and I need to put down some copyright info - and I want to copy and paste all the details so I don't need to type it all.
But I can work around that - I can just type it. However, I want to copy the © symbol in - and this is what happens.
I open character map, search for "copy" and select this "©" and click on copy, jump into ae, go into an active text box with cursor blinking, and Cntr+V for paste and boom! - there I have a whole phrase jump in - which was whatever I last copied from AE text box -- NOT what I just copied from character map.
But then I come over here to the forums and without copying that symbol again, I just hit paste and it pastes it right in here.
It acts the same way with other text, from browser, from photoshop (active text box - copy selected text).
I would assume there's a way to copy and paste, but what am I missing?

Allow me to be slightly embarrassed - you must be exactly right. This morning I went back and tried again, and it worked perfectly!
Still makes me wonder why it didn't work yesterday - I restarted Adobe but didn't restart the computer like I did over night.

I had a project in AE that was 80 seconds long, no external video footage but all built in AE at 1280 X 720, 30 fps
I'm guessing some background process maybe messed the clipboard up? Anyway, it works now and I guess it was a one-time occurence. If I can ever recreate this repeatedly - I'll be back here!

Pasting text into a text layer in Photoshop CC 2014

I've been playing around around with Photoshop CC 2014 HTML5/Javascript extensions (CEP5) for a while now and I came across a problem I couldn't solve: how to paste text in an existing text layer when the user is editing the text? Using evalScript and app.activeDocument.paste(); works fine when pasting copied pixels as a new layer, but if the user is on a text layer editing the text (and I want the extension to paste text there), it throws an evalScript error.
Am I doing something terribly wrong or what? The next thing I thought was to invoke paste event and try it that way.

I only see the normal texture filtering. Seems like you have a fundamental misunderstanding here about how 3D works - "pixel perfect" has no meaning for 3D textures since UV space is parametric and has by itself in theory infinite resolution, so any texture will be fit into this range and inevitably a single pixel in the texture can cover more than a pixel on screen or more than a square milimeter on a 3D object. If you want "sharp" textures, you increase the texture resolution, which, if you realyl want that pixely look would be doen using the nearest neighbor method. Regardless, once you zoom in at some point you will see fuzzy edges/ pixels again. It's in the nature of the thing.
