Patch 11.2.0.1.0 to Current

Hi everyone,
I will install Oracle 11g onto Windows Server 2003 SP2 64-bit
Initially, the new instance will be version 11.2.0.1.0
Which Patch Set will I need to install to bring the instance up to the current version?
Thanks, John

11/10/11: Patch Set 11.2.0.3 for Linux, Solaris, Windows, AIX and HP-UX Itanium is now available on support.oracle.com. Note: it is a full installation (you do not need to download 11.2.0.1 first). See the README for more info (login to My Oracle Support required).
MOS is always the best place to be checking something like this though...

  • Best Practice for Portal Patches and effort estimation

    Hi ,
One of our client is applying the following patches
    1. ECC 6.0 SP15(currently SP14)
    2. ESS MSS SP15(currently SP14 with some level of functional customization )
    3. EP 7 SP18(currently SP14)
We would like to kwow the best practice for applying portal patches and the effort estimation for redoing the portal devt on the new patch.
o   What is the overall level of effort with applying Portal patches?
o   How are all the changes to SAP objects handle?  Do they have to be
         manually re-entered?
o  What is the impact of having a single NWDI instance across the
Portal Landscape during the Patch process?
    Regards,
    Revathi Raju.

    Hi Revathi,
o What is the overall level of effort with applying Portal patches?
overall effort to apply the patch is apprx 1/2-1 days for NW7 system. This is exclude the patch files download because it's based on your download speed.
o How are all the changes to SAP objects handle? Do they have to be
    manually re-entered?
Depending on your customization. Normally it wont effect if you created the customzation application apart from SAP standard application
o What is the impact of having a single NWDI instance across the
Portal Landscape during the Patch process?
Any change that related to NWDI, you might be need to re-deployed from NWDI itself.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    AZLY

  • Single link where I can download all patches published last Quarter

Is there a link where I can download to a single CD or multiple CDs the patches for my Solairs 10 (8/07) stand-alone system? This would make it easier for myself, rather than downloading each patch individually.

It sounds like you are currently downloading patches individually from the sunsolve website. You may wish to look at the Sun Update Connection software, which will allow you to patch manage more easily.
    http://www.sun.com/service/sunconnection/index.jsp
    Documentation is available from:

  • Patches and SunSolve

I have already mentioned in a couple of previous postings that, I am trying to install
studio 11 on a system on which Forte Developer 7 is already installed.
My question is, if I install studio 11 , is it still necessary for me to run
"version libC*" command under /usr/lib directory in order to check whether latest
patches are installed or not ?
I am under the impression that : I need not , as I am installing Sun studio 11 which is
the latest studio available. Can any body please confirm this ?
In case I am supposed to check whether latest patches are installed or not, the document says
I need to register myself with SunSolve. When I tried to register myself with SunSolve it asked me to
enter Service Plan. But I am not sure which Service plan I should enter . Can any body help me ?
    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

When you install Sun Studio 11, you have the option of also installing the required Solaris patches. You should accept that option, because Studio 11 will not run properly if the requried patches are not present. The patch installer will update a file only if it is a newer version than the one already on the system.
Some of the patches are for system libraries like the C++ runtime libraries. There is only one copy of each of these libraries on the system, installed in /usr/lib, and shared by all compilers and programs that need them. Old compilers can use new versions of these libraries, so it is always safe to install the newest patch.
Sun's upport model for free Solaris and free compilers is that most patches require a support contract. The current exceptions are security patches, patches for Sun Studio, and Solaris patches required by Sun Studio.
If you go to the Sun Studio patch page
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/cc/downloads/patches/index.jsp
you should be able to follow the links to the Sun Studio and required Solaris patches, and download them directly.

  • EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 27????

    Hi,
just released in the service market place: patch 27 for EP 6.0 SP2. This is getting VERY confusing. See sapnote 774779 for details. The documentation they refer to is not yet available, but I would like to hear from SAP where this sudden re-numbering comes from! Are the portal patches now somehow related to the J2EE patch level?
    Anyone?

    Naming Convention
Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 patches now have an improved naming convention. From this version on, portal patches are to be aligned with those of J2EE 6.20 and of Knowledge Management & Collaboration. It is, therefore, recommend that when upgrading your system to J2EE patch level XY, you also upgrade the portal to Patch XY.
    One-Time Closing of the Gap
For the upcoming release of EP 6.0, the patch is designated as Patch 27, despite the fact that the previous patch was Patch 5. This one-time step aligns the patch numbering of the portal with that of J2EE Engine. Portal will not have patches 6-26.
Alignment with J2EE in Future Releases
The availability of future portal patches will be coordinated with that of J2EE Engine. Patches are expected every 5 weeks.
    Improvement: Accumulation
From now on, portal patches will be cumulative. Each future patch will include all the fixes provided with previous patches, going back to and including portal Patch 5. In other words, the current patch (27) includes the fixes provided with Patch 5, which was released a few weeks ago. Hence: - If your installation is currently up-to-date with Patch 4, you can directly install the latest patch. - If your installation is not yet updated up to Patch 4, you must install Patch 4 first, and then you can continue to the latest patch available. Make sure that you upgrade to Patch 4 according to the instructions in the guide Installing Patch 4 for EP 6.0 SP2 since Patch 4 and its preceding patches are not cumulative.

  • Patch Prerequisite

    Hi Guys,
    platform is 11.5.9
    OS is solaris
Please I want to download patch 5352601(CPUApr2007 5352601) 11iApplications DBA) which is included in CPU April 2007. Now one of the prerequisite for this patch is patch 3180816 (Patch 11i.AD.I) which is obsolete in this platform (Patchsets known to include or supersede Patch 3180816 is patch 4712852 Applications DBA 11i.AD.I.4)
I have patch 4712852 (Applications DBA 11i.AD.I.4) applied on my system my question is since I have the new patch 4712852 do I need to apply the older one patch 3180816 (patch 11i.AD.I) since is a prequisite for the patch 5352601(CPUApr2007 5352601) 11iApplications DBA) ?
I am thinking that the new one should be good enough since minipack is cumulative?
    Please help again!!

You do not have to apply patch 3180816 (patch 11i.AD.I) since it is included in 4712852 (Applications DBA 11i.AD.I.4). To make sure you can apply patch 5352601(CPUApr2007 5352601) with "options=prereq", this option helps you to determine if you have any missing pre-req. patches on your environment before applying the current patch.

  • Portal patches and effort estimation

    Hi ,
One of our client is applying the following patches

    Thanks

First update the JSPM version and then use the updated JSPM to upgrade the above components.
The sequence of installlation will be taken care by
    JSPM itself..
There are two suggestions I would like to make.
    1. If you upgrade j2ee Engine ,please upgrade other usage types EP , XI etc if any to the same SP level.
    2. Please stick on the SP06 as it is the most stable version available with maximum hotfixes as other SP's have lot of problem in some component or the other. From SP07-SP09 none of them are stable and SP10 is relatively new and so bugs also would be new!!..
the follwing is the path in the service market place where u can find all the components listed.
Support Packages and Patches"-->SAP NetWeaver" --> NETWEAVER" -->SAP NETWEAVER 2004S" -->Entry by Component" -->Application Server Java
Hope the above info is usefull...

    Hi,
The other post says you have to apply the complete stack instead of applying a single component. All the components should be on the same stack level.  Its up to you and your team wheather you want to apply stack or just a single component.
You can download the stack from the market place http://service.sap.com/swdc

  • Latest Patch Update for 9i

Hi all, can some one tell me where i can find the latest release and patch update for oracle 9i. I currently have 9.2.0.7.0 installed, can some one also tell me how to define this format of release.
    Thanks

The ultimate patch for 9iR2 was 9.2.0.8.
This is the only version applicable for CPUs and extended support.
All other versions are in sustained support, 9.2.0.8 is in sustained support if you didn't get extended support (free until August 1, 2008).
