After patch 141506-05 / 141505-05 SunOS 5.10: ipf patch. I got strange TTL.

  • IBP 4.0 FP1 Patch 2 - Need more info on new features in Supply Planning

    Hi All,
I was reading the SAP help and some of the new features are not very clear to me, if you have clarity around it please read and help me to get more clarity.
As per SAP Help,The following features are now available in IBP for supply:
Separate lead time units of measure can be defined for use in multiple planning areas depending on different time granularities.
My Query - Where do we define it? I do not see any additional attribute in the MDT where lead time is present but don't see any attribute to define lead time units or any other different settings in the planning area so how can we define this?
Static periods of supply are taken into account as input for the inventory target, with projected periods of coverage provided as output.
My Query - What exactly has changed and which are the new key figures here to support this? I could not understand this from reading the above text.
Independent demand is taken into account as input at the product location, in addition to the distribution demand from other nodes and customer demand.
The optimizer algorithm supports the Non-Delivery Cost Rate key figure as input for the independent demand at the product location.
My Query - A new key figure "INDEPENDENTDEMAND" is available now @PERPRODLOC so first point is very clear but second point is very confusing to me as "Non delivery cost rate" is only defined @PERPRODCUST so how we will define the non delivery cost rate for independent demand which is at different planning level and if we are not able to define it how optimizer algorithm will support it? Ideally it needs to be at same level like consensus demand and Non delivery cost rate both @PERPRODCUST Level.
    Thanks
    Girish

    Hi Mark,
While I'm not in your list of people to respond I figure I give it a go anyways :-)
The list of features you mentioned is a nice summary. One of the main release themes is data quality as you noticed. Apart from changes to the name&address functionality we also added the advanced matching and merging into this release. So you can use custom rules to match and merge data. This also allows you to do things like householding for customer data records. In essence we have now completed the integration of Pure*Integrate into Warehouse Builder.
The mapping debugger is another big thing. This allow you to walk through your mappings and see in detail what happes to the data.
The metadata change management is now in the UI. THis means there is now object level version management in Warehouse Builder via the UI. You can also compare versions and get a difference report.
As you mentioned there are a number of smaller and bigger features next to this. The idea for this release is to make OWB a top Data Quality product and allow you to do your ETL and DQ in one tool. Apart from that we have added usability features (debugger, N&A wizard) and we have added some features to solve specific problems.
Especially the corelated commit is interesting in that respect. You can now, in a map with multiple targets control the commit, and choose to either commit all targets or none, or commit them individually (current behavior).
As usual there is a lot more, as this is indeed a major release. Keep an eye on OTN for more collateral regarding the new features. We are currently updating the site to reflect the new stuff.
On the OLAP patch, both 9.0.4 and 9.2 will work equally well with the OLAP patch (when it is available). In 9.2 we added some small thing around composites. More about that when there is an OLAP patch to test this one on in a customer site.
I hope this answered the question, if not let me know.
    Jean-Pierre

Hi I am currently have a subscription to PS CC but I don't think I have the latest version.  I believe this because I don't get the new welcome screen and don't have new features like the structure and color setting in the content aware patch tool.  I have checked for updates and it tells me I have the current version.  I check in PS I have version 14.2.1.  I also have CS6 installed on my PC, could this be somehow be doing something or am I doing something wrong.  Would anyone have any suggestions.

It's under "Find New Apps".  You have to scroll down to see it.

  • Acrobat 4.0 possible patch to handle newer .pdf files?

I am currently at a small printing company that uses a Heidelberg Prosetter and interconnected software programs for platemaking in our pre-press department. We currently have an outdated Heidelberg meta dimension system that I was told will only handle Acrobat version 4.0 files. I get errors when a newer .pdf version is sent to me from my customers. So far I have found work arounds such as saving the .pdf file down to a compatible file, but am running out of options, and the newest version 9.0 files are really giving me a headache. Saving the file down doesn't seem to help. Is there a possible patch I can find to allow version 4.0 to handle the newest files? Heidelberg has told me that if we were to upgrade to a newer version of Acrobat we would need to upgrade the rest of our software (PitStop Server, Meta Dimension, SignaStation) since they all work together to burn plates and that would cost us upwards of $25,000. Being a small company we can not afford this and the owners have basically told me to work with what I have. Can anyone help me?

I still keep having some issues with transparent objects and drop shadows with a spot colors. I just spoke to our Heidelberg rep and he mentioned that they even had to update their software to handle the 9.0, and are now recommending that customers upgrade to the newest version of Meta Dimension (which is very costly I might Ad!). I think I am just stuck between a rock and a hard place, and will be there as long as I work here! Not only do I have issues with the transparent objects, I am sometimes getting a flat out will not open error message in EnFocus PittStop which is our pre-flight software. I am going to have to post this on the EnFocus forums and hope that someone might be able to solve that for me. Thanks for the input. I kind of thought that a patch like that was out of the question! There is just no help for poor people like me!

So I thought ok maybe it needs the 3.2 patch, so I un-installed then reinstalled but it wouldn't let me run the patch saying that my sources are alreay patched, I need this machine to do my work and I now at a dead stop.
thanks for your help on this.

OK it all worked accept for one small bit, with the new patch there is a bug in the script. It calls for
    /sbin/lsmod which doesn't exist.
    It exists in /bin/lsmod
So I guess you could mod the script but I just symlinked the path and it worked fine.
    ln -s /bin/lsmod /sbin/lsmod
thanks again for your help and I hope this little bit gets found by who needs it.

  • IPhoto editing results in black patches on photos - new problem

Hello everyone - I am experiencing a brand new problem with iPhoto editing.  Have used the editing feature for four years without incident.  Since upgrading operating software a few weeks ago, I now experience sudden blackout patches on photos as soon as I click on the "Adjust" setting in the "Edit" mode.
Here are a few details on my set-up and problem:
    iPhoto version: iPhoto'09 - Version 8.1.2
    Operating System: OSX Version 10.9.1
Details - Black rectangular patches appear in either sections of photos, or completely obscure the photo whenever I click on "Adjust" in the "Edit" mode.  Only way out of this situation is to hit "Escape" key
Did it every work properly?  Yes, for four years I never had any problems.  Liked the ease of the editing features in iPhoto.  Very recently upgraded operating system to version noted above.  Problem occurring since that time.
    Error message? No
What steps taken to date? None yet - Seeking assistance through this forum.  Thanks in advance.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Patch notes for new update?

Where can i find patch notes on what is new/fixed with update?

Personally, I don't find the referenced document to be of any use at all.  It's mostly marketing-speak without any technical detail.  The first page is somewhat helpful, but the bullet points on the 2nd page are a waste.  I want actual descriptions of the changes or improvements.
I guess I will go to a third party website, where industry folks analyze and report on such things.  Shame, Verizon.

  • PATCH: 2 new features: selectOnLoad and ds_TotalRowCount

    Hi all,
I've got another patch. This one is pretty simple. In my app,
I need the user to specifically select something from one dataset,
which only then should trigger the second dataset to get loaded.
And likewise to a third, fourth, fifth and six dataset. To prevent
a lot of excess calls occurring, I wanted all the datasets to NOT
select the first row when they load their data. So I added a
selectOnLoad option to the list of options you can pass when
you create a XMLDataSet. If false, then once the XML is loaded, the
first row will not be selected. By default this is true, so it
    won't break your apps.
Second patch was to a add a ds_TotalRowCount psuedo column
which just returns the total number of rows in the unfiltered
dataset. This allows me to do things like: "Showing 12 of 123
    records" easier.
    Here's the patch:

  • Install RAC 11gR2 and Apply Patches with OUI New Software Updates Option

Has anyone tried the installation with the New Software Updates Option?
I will install 11gR2 RAC Grid and I plan to do the following steps:
    1) Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure Patchset 11.2.0.2
    2) Do all the configuration with OUI
    3) Create ASM disks
    4) Install Oracle Database 11.2.0.2 Software Only
    5) Apply Oracle Recommended Patches 11.2.0.2.2 (12311357) and 12431716. (ref. MOS doc [ID 756671.1])
    6) Create RAC Database (advanced option) with DBCA
    With these steps:
Grid and ASM disks would be configured without the recommended patches, but the database will be created with the patches applied.
I would not like to do a "Software only" install of GI and then apply the patches because later I would have to manually do all the configuration steps.
If I use the OUI Software Updates Option to apply the patches, will OUI do all the patching and then let me configure GRID with OUI ?
Quote from Oracle® Grid Infrastructure Installation Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Linux - Part Number E17212-11:
" Use the Software Updates feature to dynamically download and apply software updates as part of the Oracle Database installation. You can also download the updates separately using the downloadUpdates option and later apply them during the installation by providing the location where the updates are present."
I could not find more detailed information about this feature on documentation and MOS .
    Thanks

  • Patch 141505-05 breaks state table handling / networking with ipfilter

    Hi,
after applying 141505-05 on "SunOS sun 5.10 Generic_142901-02 i86pc i386 i86pc" I had serious problems with the ipfilter firewall.
The problem is that entries in the state table do not get purged after the TTL.
To reproduce I do (via console):
    - have ipfilter configured with "keep state" on incoming port http
-> example:"pass in quick on bge0 proto tcp from any to any port = 80 flags S keep state group 20"
    - have patch applied/not applied for comparsion
    - have a webserver running on "test" solaris machine
    - have ab2 (apache benchmark) on "client"
    - disable ipfilter for the next command "svcadm disable ipfilter"
    - lower the state table size to get the error with much less requests "ipf -T fr_statemax=100,fr_statesize=120"
    - svcadm enable ipfilter
    - from the "client": ab2 -c 20 -n 200 http://test/ (ab2 here is ApacheBench, Version 2.3 <$Revision: 655654 $> on opensuse 11.2)
    - watch the state table with "ipfstat -tC" on the test machine fill up with entires in state (8/8) and positive ttl
Source IP Destination IP ST PR #pkts #bytes ttl
    client ip,52041 test ip,80 8/8 tcp 11 668 1:59
    - wait until the state table is full
    - ping the test machine from anywhere (will not work with "keep state" icmp rule) or use any other service with "keep state" rules
-> this is the supposed behavior, see: http://blogs.sun.com/SashaN/entry/packet_gets_blocked_eventhoug_it
    - watch the entries in the state table time-out (default 2 minutes)
    - with "141505-05" the entries will not time out and the ttl will just get negative, without it (here:"141505-04") the entries will disappear
    - with "141505-05" services with state-full filtering will not be accessible again after the time-out, without it the service will be accessible again
Is this behavior reproducible / known?

I had the same problems on all my comps, sparc/intel , I got minus TTL. Dont install that patch otherwise you are dead.
    After patch 141506-05 / 141505-05 SunOS 5.10: ipf patch. I got " -TTL".

Is it new feature "minus" TTL or somebody did not have enough IQ to test that patch ?

  • Repeating frame spacing Problem in Reports 6i

I have a Matrix with Group report. Now I have two sections (one is matrix section, second is Grand totals section).
After I run the report layout ,Matrix section data (repeating frame) is appearing at one spacing but the other repeating frame in Grand Totals - appears in the same page (below the Matrix data section) with different spacing and aligning.
I’ve attached the output of the sample report. You can find the aligning/spacing problem between Matrix data (one repeating frame) and Grand Total data (another repeating frame)
This is the problem, I have tried changing all the properties, but all in vain. I feel that the repeating frame in Grand Totals appears exactly at the same position as the first one.
    Please help...

    Hi,
There are no such limitations with Reports. If I understand properly, you run the Report twice, in each run, you are trying to execute different query, and you generate two dilimited Reports output files? This should work fine. Try out the latest Reports 6i patch-10 for this. You can even approach Oracle Support with your testcase. FYI, with Reports 6i patch-11, a new feature "dlimited data" is introduced which will give delimited output with a data dump i.e it would not be dependent upon the Reports layout. You can probably try out this new feature also.
    Thanks,
    Rohit Hi Rohit,
    Thanks for the information.
well I am generating single output file on each run .
    the problem is somewhat funny.
I have build query2 in data model after query1.
query 1 is giving me correct output both in .PDF and delimiter version.
But query2 is giving me 0 byte file for delimiter version although in .PDF it is running fine.
When I took out query2 to another module it is running fine for both.
    I hope this make sense.
Moreover if u still not clear about the problem and thinks that u can help me out please send me ur mail id so that I can send you the RDF copy.

  • Problem in Reports. Pl. Respond.

I want to generate a report in Reports 2.5. The report is such
that it will be based on multiple queries. Say first one query ,
Q1, will fetch some data. Based on Q1 some records will be
generated. Then Q1 and these newly generated records will be the
base of second query, Q2. And report will be based on Q2.
I am unable to generate this query.
Please Help and suggest some way to do this.
and please be specific while suggesting something.
