Hi,
I'm going to apply this patch on OEM 9.2.0 on a Win XP Pro server.
in readme of this patch it is said :
1. Shut down the Enterprise Manager 9.2 Oracle Management Server on each
machine.
would it be enough just to stop the program or I should also stop the oracleOrahome92Management servcie ? Many thanks.

Has anyone deployed CPU patches for 12c OEM? In the recent Jul, 2012 CPU patch there is patch for Oracle Database Plug-ins, has anybody deployed this Jul ,2012 CPU patch for 12c OEM.

I have requested the "on request" patch for the Oracle Database Management Plug-in for the 12.1.0.1 Home, but was told by Oracle Support that there was no patch. I am on Solaris Sparc 64. I looked at the CVE-2012-1737 advisory, and I am trying to figure out if the vulnerability does not apply to my platform, but frankly can't figure it out from that document, and the support person did not elaborate. Have you been given a patch?

can any one tell me the stratge to apply patch on the EBS? OAM, OEM, or AUTOpatch, or just foolow the read me?

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Applications Manager (OAM) are powerful tools that enable you to manage and monitor Oracle Database and Applications respectively (OAM complements the features of the OEM). With respect to patching, OAM let you:
- Determine which patches have been applied to a system
- Examine the patched files on a system, and identify all the patches that altered a given file
The Patch Wizard tool built into OAM can recommend patches for your Oracle Applications system. The wizard takes patch data downloaded from Oracle, analyzes that data against the Applications system, and recommends patches based on criteria you specify. The wizard can also analyze individual patches, identify any prerequisites missing on the system, and show the impact that the patches would have on the system in terms of affected applications, files, and other areas. Additionally, the wizard can download multiple patches from Oracle and merge them into a single patch.
Personally, I prefer using the advanced feature in Oracle Metalink website to get the list of patches which I need to apply to the system. In addition to the advanced search feature, you can refer to the following documents to get more details about OAM, and recommended patch list:

Is OEM 10g OMS supported on SLES10?

I checked metalink and it shows that the 10g OEM OMS App Server is only supported on SLES9 32 bit. I here that Novell will be desupporting SLES 9 in July 2009.
Is there a patch to run OEM OMS 10g on SLES10?
Can I run OEM OMS 10g without a patch?
Do I just have to wait for OEM 11g to come out before I can run the OMS App Server on SLES 10?

OMS isn't supported on SLES10, but Agents are supported as per certification matrix

Labels, Portrait vs. Landscape, using CR for SAP B1

I posted this question in the CR reports forum, but was told by the moderator that since Crystal Reports for B1 is an OEM product I need to post to the B1 forum.
I am using Crystal Reports for SAP Business One, Version 12.1.0.892.
I've read the info here about dealing with rotating labels, [in regular CR forum] but I still don't know how to implement it in my version. I've tried several things and I always end up with a rotated label. The Page Setup directions provided seem inconsistent. Here's what I mean.
I need to create a 3" x 2" label. I start with a blank report.
On Page Setup, under Page Options, there is a check mark in Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Papaer Size. I leave it.
In the drop down box, I change Letter to User Defined Size.
Set Unit to Inches.
Set Horizontal to 3, and Vertical to 2.
(Orientation, which started at Portrait switches itself to Landscape. I leave it at Landscape.)
Set all 4 Margins to 0. (I'll handle them myself in the document layout and I don't want to confuse the size issue.)
Create test report. Report looks ok on screen. Looks ok when exported to PDF. Send to printer and it comes out sideways.
Reopen Page Setup. According to directions in [CR] forum, I'm supposed to uncheck Dissociate option. I do that. Drop box changes to Organizer J. I try to change it back to User Defined, but that is no longer and option.
Horizontal and Vertical have changed themselves and are grayed out.
I change Orientation from Landscape to Portrait.
Now my workspace on the label is 2.75"; wide, a sidewise Organizer J, apparently.
How do I set up my Page to get a simple 3" x 2" label?

Solution found: Create label as 3" X 3" and only use first 2" of vertical. Orientation stays correct. On printer setup, define Label as #" x 2" and the printer fixes the overflow.

Hello,
Crystal Reports for B1 is an OEM product. Please post your question to the B1 forum. this was fixed in CR Patches for CR 2008 but you cannot apply those patches to your OEM build.

HELP!! Error trying to install XP on X200.

Hi,
I just got my new LENOVO X200 and wanted to have a clean install of XP (I bought the computer with a XP downgrade), so I followed one of the clean install guides online (from the lenovo forum I think...) and after downloading all the drivers from the Lenovo website I inserted the XP original disc into the system and restarted and then booted from CD and the blue screen came up and the XP install process begun (it said it is doing all sort of stuff like checking hard drive and so on...), but soon after when the setup wrote: SETUP IS LOADING WINDOWS, a blue error screen came up with the following message:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. RUN CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

I tried a a few times after that and the message reappeared. I can't continue with my install like this, so I would appreciate any advice and help from people that this occured to them as well or just people who know...

Upgrade error "exceeded maximum allowed length (134217728 bytes)

Hi:
I'm trying to add a patch to the OEM patch cache, and I'm getting an error:
Error: - Failed to Upload File.Uploaded file of length 545451768 bytes exceeded maximum allowed length (134217728 bytes)
The patch file is what it is (545451768 bytes). How do I install this patch? I'm trying to upgrade a 10.1.0.3 DB to 10.1.0.4

Did you deploy Lync edge server?
The Edge Server rejects the authentication request, and redirects the Lync 2010 client to the Lync Web Services (https://lyncexternal.contoso.com/CertProv/CertProvisioningService.svc).

IDM 11g + 10g SSO supported on 11gR2?

according to the fusion middleware 11g certification guide it says that the database versoin 11.1.0.7+ is supported. I'm assuming that means 11gR2 as well?
It appears Ultra search has been desupported in 11gR2: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/readmes.112/e11015/toc.htm#BABBFCCH
So when I run the SSO 10 RCU it fails against an 11gR2 database "The database does not contain Ultra Search Schemas WKSYS and or WKPROXY. Please install them and try again."
Any thoughts?

Enterprise manager 10.1.0.2 ?

Is there anyway to get Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.1.0.2 for Windows 32bits.. As am working on DB 10.1.0.2 and I can't neither install OEM 10.1.0.3 nor getting the patchset from metalink as i don't have a CSI.. anyone can help?

I've been through this version on AIX, however not on Windows, and noticed some smolk in the 10g cup: OEM 10.1.0.2 Management Repository can not be installed in 10g database, only 9.2.0.4 (or higher patch level). OEM 10.1.0.3 requires at least 10.1.0.3 for database for Repository.
Have yet to find a workaround, other than waiting for a 10.1.0.3 full release (not patchset version).
Why not use 10.1.0.3 for Windows?

New Mac Pro running Snow Leopard?

I literally picked up a new Mac Pro today at the local Apple Store and it is running Snow Leopard (10.6.4). Is this usual? I don't get the latest operating system on this puppy?

You don't want Lion, not today, not quite yet.
Apple still sells 10.6.3 DVD as well as a combo Snow Leopard and Lion on USB thumb drive $69.
In the past priro two OS, there was 10.X.6 DVD but not this time.
So Apple has their giant 1GB combo updates plus another 500MB of supplemental updates for other programs and patches.
Your OEM DVD has Apple Hardware Test.
Mac Pro can still run 10.6.8 just fine.
Macs that only use Lion use network installs, .network hardware test.
Lion recovery partition though can check the health of all hidden hard drive partitions as well as repair so that is nice and for $30 you might want to TEST Lion on another hard drive at some point. Better that then splurging on 3rd party system tools.
The 2010 can take a faster processor. The limitation? still SATA2 means bandwidth and performance hit for storage hits glass ceiling. That SATA 6G SSD for instance.

OEM_Agent DST problem with window server 2003

I didn't apply the dst patch to my OEM and Agent, system administrator said he applied the OS patch. so as expected, after the reboot of server, the oem_agent won't start any more.
the error message:
'Mon Mar 19 12:40:14 2007::The agentTZRegion value in E:\OEM_agent10g\agent10g/sysman/config/emd.properties is not in agreement with what agent thinks it should be.Please verify your environment to make sure that TZ setting has not changed since the last start of the agent.
If you modified the timezone setting in the environment, please stop the agent and exectute 'emctl resetTZ agent' and also execute the script mgmt_target.set_agent_tzrgn(<agent_name>, <new_tz_rgn>) to get the value propagated to repository -----

I did ' emctl resetTZ agent on my target machine.
then, I run ' exec mgmt_target.set_agent_tzrgn('server123:3872','Etc/GMT+4');
It's not helping.
On window, the time is right, but the timezone is still set as 'GMT-5'.
A querry shows:
select timezone_region from mgmt_targets where target_name='server_name':
TIMEZONE_REGION
America/New_York
If I do exec mgmt_target.set_agent_tzrgn('server123:3872','Etc/GMT+5' , it's still not working....
Any one has any suggestion? I thought window should have different timezone after apllying the DST patch?

Silent blackouts

Our sys admins have been doing patches lately. The patching is causing OEM to send out alerts. To circumvent the problem, I added OEM blackouts to the shutdown/startups scripts, however I still get notifications that the blackout has started or stopped.
Is there a way to enable/disable blackout silently?

You should check the Notification Rule that you are using for this.
"Database Availability and Critical States" by default
and then go to the Availability tab
Here you have a checkbox for Blackout Started and Blackout Ended.
The checkbox should not be checked.
Something else, if you admin should use the OEM Provisoning and Autoamted Patching feature, this will be taken care of by default.

Can Acrobat MSP files patch OEM versions of Acrobat?

I have several computers that from Dell that have OEM versions of Acrobat standard. I am trying to deploy Acrobat patches using group policy. I have read the Adobe GP & AD deployment guide for instructions. But I cannot get the patches to install.
I managed to get the an administrative share installed using the OEM 9.0 CD. Here is the command from my workstation:
msiexec /a "\\server\Share\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Acrobat9Stnd\Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard\AcroStan.msi" /log c:\temp\acrobat.log
But I for the life of me cannot get the 9.1 patch files to update the distribution point. The popup error is:
Error 2203.database:
\\server\share\software\adobe\acrobat\acrobat9stnd\adobe acrobat 9 standard\acrostan.msi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.
The second to last line of the log file is:
MSI (c) (98:98) [13:24:39:075]: Product: Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard - English, Fran蓷is, Deutsch - Update 'Adobe Acrobat 9.1.0 Update' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Additional information is available in the log file c:\temp\adobe111.txt.
I have searched extensively on the forums and Google without any luck. I have tried updating the distribution point from multiple computers with multiple different configurations.
I am now wondering if it is an issue with the OEM software version and the Adobe patch off the Web site.

Problem solved. I did a basic install of xp sp2 in a virtual machine without any patches or programs and ran it from there without any issues. Thanks.

Oracle 10g_win32_db with patch PATCH 3837371 cant find OEM or Worksheet

I just installed Oracle10g with patch 3837371. I am unable to find OEM or SQLPlus Worksheet in my Start->Programs->Oracle.
I have been able to locate the HTTP version of Enterprise Manager via going straight to the internet, but there is still no link in the Oracle area for these two applications.
I would appreciate if you could share where they are found so I can use them.

Starting with 10g, OEM is browser based. However, you can install the java app version of OEM from the Client CD.
