In installing patch 4676589 (11i.ATG_PF.H.RUP4)
We came across worker failure
Failed on the
1 Run AutoPatch R115 afcmgr.odf FAILED
This failed twice – I went into adctrl and selected option 8 – skipping the failed worker
Will this cause any issues further

Oracle Application is not working on IE7

Hi All,
I have updated my IE6 with IE7 and when i am trying to run oracle application, i successfully logon but When application try to run applet that time IE terminated by application.
and got this mkessage.
Problem caused by Java
This problem was caused by Java. Java was created by Sun Microsystems, Inc..
Microsoft has been unable to contact the manufacturer and has no further information available at this time.
Recommendation

If you are unable to fix this problem and continue to receive errors, you can also remove Java.
What IE setting i need to do. I have window-XP,oracle application 11.5.10.2, Jinitiator 1.3.1.21 and 1.3.1.26.

Using Windows Vista and IE7 with Forms based applications

A user has Vista & iexplorer 7 installed on their machine and when they attempt to access the Professional Buyer responsibility (forms based) they receive an error message stating that 'Internet Explorer has stopped working'. When they attempt the same thing using a machine with Windows XP Pro and IE6 they do not have a problem. Could anyone tell me if they have experienced a similar issue and how do you work around it whilst still using Internet Explorer?? Also we are using
j-initiator version 1.3.1.18

Oracle Periodic Alert -Not sending Email Notifications

Hi,
I configured a periodic alert in my test and development instances. I had a SQL Query in Select Statement. When I verified the SQL Statement Oracle Alert successfully parses the SQL Statement . When I run it rows are getting selected. I defned Actions, Action Set, Action Set Details, Action Details. In the Actions Tab---> Action Details I listed out the persons to whom Mail needs to be send.
I checked the below ones...
Notification Mailer is Up
Periodic Alert Scheduler is Activated
But the notified persons are not recieving mails.
I has one more question
Is that if the Select Statement after parsing doesnt return any rows... Alert will not be triggered. if it returns 0 rows.
What else needs to be checked.. Let me know if you can sort it out...

What is your ATG patchset level? If you are on ATG RUP4 or above, then please confirm that Oracle Workflow is configured and working properly with no issues -- Check the Workflow log file for any errors.
Is the issue with all alerts or specific ones only? Can you reproduce the issue with all end-users for the same alert or with specific users only?

Need JDeveloper Exact Version for 11.5.9

Hi All,
I would like to develop the new pages by using OA Framework. To develop the page in 11.5.9 version what is the exact compatible JDeveloper version?
See below for my OAInfo details....
OA Framework Version --> 5.7.H.V6
MDS Version --> 9.0.3.6.7 (build 772)
UIX Version --> 2.1.19
BC4J Version --> BC4J Version
And I have checked all metalink note ids for framework version but those notes are having the JDeveloper version from OAF version 5.10.
I would appreciate if anyone reply soon with exact version. Let me know if need any more details.

Error installing RAPID INSTALL R12 on Linux

I did a Rapid Install of Oracle Applications R12 (which contains 10g database) from the root user. After the installation, the system validates the configuration and it shows some problem with database availability. I have attached the log for database availability (bottom of this email), which shows the error "RW-50011: Error: - Apps ORACLE_HOME connection test has returned an error: 2"

Verify that Oracle Data Mining and OLAP are installed in your database by using SQL*Plus to connect to the database as SYSDBA and running the following command:

Oracle E Business Suite 11.5.10 wont load using Jinitiator 1.3.1.21

Hi Gurus,
Need help.
We are using Oracle E Business Suite 11.5.10 with Jinitiator 1.3.1.21 but can't load the forms.
It automatically closes the IE 7 browser.
Hope u can help me on this. I remember before, there's a file that needs to be replace in the Jinitiator in order to properly load the forms but i forgot the details.

Email server가 갑자기 몇시간씩 죽을경우 recipient notification 이 갑자가 Disabled되면서 Mail 발송이 안되는 경우가 있습니다.
FND_USER_PREFERENCES 와 WF_LOCAL_ROLES 이 갑자기 DISABLED 됩니다.

Email Server outage (crash) 는 FND_USER_PREFERENCES and WF_LOCAL_ROLES tables. 에 있는 nottification_preference for recipients 을 DISABLED 로 바꿉니다.이 문제는 Bug 4104735 에 소개되고 있습니다..
When a notification fails to be rendered or delivered from the Java tier (in this case due to an email server outage) then the notification will be placed into a FAILED state. The notifications that fails to be delivered to a user then has their notification preference set to DISABLED and any subsequent notifications will be automatically be set to FAILED either at the PL/SQL level or the java level depending on where the request for a notification is received.
Solution
=========
1. Update the tables FND_USER_PREFERENCES and WF_LOCAL_ROLES manually. However, for only the WF_LOCAL_ROLES table you can do the following:

/>remove the Person Field >> save
/>requery the same user >> add back the Person Field
/>save >> have user log out/in >> retest
/>This effort does an internal synchronization for the peticular user 3. At this moment there is no way from the UI for the system administrator to change the notification preference for the FND_USER_PREFERENCES table.
4. After this, the concurrent program Resend Failed Notifications can be used to resend those FAILED notifications.
5. Apply Patch 5330951 - ADDRESSEXCEPTION NOT UPDATE MAIL_STATUS, prevents the mailer from going down.
6. This is ultimately fixed in RUP4 (patch 4676589) within the Bug 5170723.

SRKIM: R11i: Applications 에 접속 후 Forms Menu launch 시 IE 가 crash 될 경우

Purpose
Applications 에 접속 후 Forms Menu 선택 시 form 이 뜨다가 IE browser 자체가 crash 될 경우 해결책을 알아 보도록 한다.
Symptom
R11i Oracle Applications 에 접속 후 Forms Based Responsibility 선택 시 Form 이 뜨다 말고 IE Browser 자체가 아래와 같은 error 와 함께 crash 된다.
‘Internet Exploerer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience’
해당 error message 창에서 “To see what data this error report contains, click here" link 를 누르면 아래와 같이 좀 더 detail 한 error 가 나타날 것이다.

1. 만약 IE 7을 사용 중이라면 아래 내용을 모두 충족 하는지 확인하다.

- Oracle Applications Technology 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 (RUP 4) (Patch 4676589)
- JInitiator 1.3.1.x

2. Jinitiator 와 a 3rd-party browser extension 호환성의 문제 일 수 있으니 아래와 같이 설정한다.
IE Browser Menu - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - uncheck 'enable third-party browser extensions'
3. 해당 option uncheck 후 다시 applications 에 접속 후 문제가 해결 되었다면 Windows Live Toolbar, Windows Live Toolbar Helper, Windows Live Messenger, McAfee Site Advisor 같은 program 과의 호환성 문제 이므로 해당 plugin을 disable 하거나 option으로 사용해야 한다.
4. 위의 방법으로도 해결이 되지 않을 경우에는 native JRE 를 사용하여 Forms 을 호출 하도록 Note 290807.1 "Upgrading Sun JRE with Oracle Applications 11i" 을 보고 JRE 를 upgrade 한다.

We are using oracle ADI oracle applications 11.5.10 to upload GL journal vouchers to the system.
The excel sheet is created but the following fatal error shows up and any try to upload doesn't succeed.
I am having this error with internet explorer 7 only:
Exception Name: oracle.apps.bne.exception.BneFatalException
Cause: Line 1 - Invalid procedure call or argument
Action: A runtime has occurred. Please contact your support representative.

- Oracle Applications patch 10 (11.5.10) with:
a) Oracle Developer 6i patchset 18 (6.0.8.27.x) or later (Metalink Note 125767.1)
b) Oracle Applications Technology 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 (RUP 4) (patch 4676589) or later
c) JInitiator 1.3.1.18 or later

Almost a year ago I had a post with questions on the patch scan process.

I have been reviewing my patch process again due to Student laptop's getting re-imaged this summer. I am hoping I can get some additional information based off the replies from that post.
1. It was stated that monthly patch bundles were created and deployed. I am unsure how that is best accomplished. If I create an all Microsoft (Windows 7 for example) Patch bundle for each month, yet the workstations it is deployed to may not require the patch, would this not cause the bundle to fail? If it just fails on that section will the remaining patch's continue to deploy?
What is the best way to deploy a monthly patch bundle? In the past I would create a patch bundle through the Patch Management area for Windows 7 but assign to only a single workstation and then go back and assign to the Windows 7 group as a "run on ref" option. Is it better to assign the patch bundle to all nonpatched devices? If this is done will a system that is reimaged and no longer has the patch or a new system created after the bundle create be automatically assigned said bundle?
Any other good strategies for patching systems? I create custom bundles for Adobe, Java, and Quicktime to ensure I control how they are deployed. Java seems to be one that works better when older versions are not installed. This method seems to be working well for those products. It is my MS Windows updates that are way off the mark. I have most of my systems with 60 to 80 patches reported ready. No matter how many times I deploy the patches they never seem to report as patched on the devices (Even tho the bundle reports back as successful). I am getting ready to start an SR since I think this is an issue with the server since so many of my systems are doing this. Good deployment procedures would be nice since I really hate to mess with my Universal WIndows image since it is working so well. Recreating it just to patch it with the latest Windows Updates would be pain.
