Patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8

Hi,
I need to install April patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8 but have some doubts if it
is cumulative patch and if it is include Jan patch.
I will appreciate if someone could help with the two questions below.
Is April patch 8290549 for oracle 9.2.0.8 is cumulative patch ?
Is it include January patch 7592365 ?
Thank You,
Ronen

All CPUs released by Oracle are cumulative i.e. they include all the fixes from the first CPU released for a particular release (f.ex. 9.2.0.8) till the current one.
The Readme for the patch itself has following lines
<quote>
Critical patch update (CPU) patches are cumulative, which means fixes from previous Oracle security alerts and critical patch updates are included. It is not required to have previous security patches applied before applying the CPUApr2009 patches. However, you must be on the stated patch set level for a given product home before applying the CPUApr2009 patches for that release.

  • Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2

    Hi
I am upgrading oracle 10G to 11GR2 in AIX 5.3 Environment with SAP ECC6 , I have just just installled Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 according to the "Database Upgrade Guide -Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2): UNIX". After database software installation , in upgrade manual in section 3.4.4 it says, you need to install current patch set for oracle database 11g R2 and referencing a SAP note 1431799.
I have just read note 1431799 which says Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2 is not generally available for SAP customers until December 2010, also I donu2019t find the note 1522330 as mentioned in 1431799.
Please let me know how I can get current patch set to apply with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 (Is it in SAP service market place?)
I also want to upgrade my installation to oracle 11.2.0.2, please let me know where I get the patch set to upgrade from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.2,
    or
I have to live with 11.2.0.1.0 and apply SAP Bundle Patch ( SBP)

    Abu Al MAmun,
I understand from your posts that you recently upgraded to 11.2.0.2.
I am having the same difficulty, of finding the current patch set for 11.2. Could you please let me know how you worked around it?
    Thanks,
    Siri
    Hello Everyone,
I did read the post on to how you have to install the current patch set for 11.2.
But honestly, it pretty much flew over my head.
I am trying to upgrade our SAP AIX 64 bit test system from Oracle 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.2.
And so far I have downloaded all the required sw for the upgrade, except for the current patch set 11.2.
This is what I have right now:
    1) Oracle 11.2 AIX 64 bit upgrade sw - 51038805_part 1 to 51038805_part 7 and 51039800.
    2) Database Patches -->Oracle 11.2.0.2 -->
    All they have here is
    a. Database RDMBS - SAP_112020_201012_AIX.zip and b. SAP_112020_201101_AIX.zip
    b. OPatch - OPatch_11201_Generic_v3.zip and mopatch-2_1_6.zip
    c. Database Vault - DV - >Generic - p9656644_112020_Generic.zip
If I am not wrong, the Database RDBMS files are nothing but the SAP Bundle Patches that have to be installed after installing the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2 using MOPatch.
But I did not find the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2.
Could someone please explain the process to me in detail? This being my first time , I am finding it a bit hard to catch up with some of the stuff.
    Thank You!
    Siri

  • Install the latest patch set for Oracle 10.2.0.4.0

    I install SAP PI 7.1 EHP1 on Windows Server 2008 (RC1).
I already installed Oracle DB software 10.2.0.4.0
Now I would like to install the latest set for Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
I downloaded the following files from Service Marketplace:
    - p8559467_10204_MS_WINX8664.zip
    -p7592030_10204_WIN_GENERIC.zip
    - Opatch_10204_Generic_v5.zip
    - and 3 Patchset files (Patchset_10204MSWINX8664aa.bin, Patchset_10204MSWINX8664ab.bin, Patchset_10204MSWINX8664ac.bin )
    Question:
    1) What is the procedure/order to install the patch set?
    2) Where (in which directory) should I put the 3 Patchset files and which commando should be used here (opathc apply)?
    Thank you!

    > - p8559467_10204_MS_WINX8664.zip
    >  -p7592030_10204_WIN_GENERIC.zip
    > - Opatch_10204_Generic_v5.zip

That one is for updates 10.2.0.<4 to 10.2.0.4. Since you are already on 10.2.0.4 that one is no more necessary.
    > 1) What is the procedure/order to install the patch set?

    See Note 1137346 - Oracle 10.2.0: Patches/patch collections for Oracle 10.2.0.4
    Basically you will
    - patch Opatch
    - unzip the patch to a directory where <sid>adm has access
    - stop all Oracle Services
    - then execute opatch apply

    Hi All,
I need some clarification on below suggestions from SAP,
<div class="jive-quote">there is also no optimizer mergefix installed in the database. This can lead to big performance problems due to wrong Oracle Cost Based Optimizer decisions. SAP therefore requires the installation of so called SAP Bundle Patches. Please refer to

I have Oracle 10.2.0.4 and AIX 6.1 for my all SAP systems, please guide me what exact steps I have to follow, as this note contains information about the relased oracle patch set but doesnt have information about how to apply.
I never applied any oracle patch set before and very new to all this, so your solution will help me a lot in this task.

Replying 'N' will update the inventory showing the patch has been applied.
NOTE: After replying either 'Y' or 'N' it is critical to review:

    Do you want to STOP?
If I choose N, I get opatch verification fail which is opatch failed.

  • Patch number for Oracle 8.1.7.4 on Solaries SPARC 64bit

    Guys,
    Oracle Version: 8.1.6.0
    OS: Solaris SPARC 64-bit
I would like to patch to 8.1.7.4. I need a patch number for this, I find it very difficult to search for the patch on Metalink. Would you please suggest the patch number and maybe also suggest the easier way to search for patches on Metalink.
    Thanks in advance
    Durbanite

    Go to Metalink
Click on "Patches & Updates" tab
    Click on "Simple Search"
Search by "Product and Family" and enter RDBMS Server
Choose the target release you are looking for (8.1.7.4)
    Patch type => "Patchset/Minipack"
    Classification => "Any"
Choose the "Platform or Language" your plateform (Sun Solaris SPARC 64bits)
And finally click on Go button.
You'll get only one row as result, the patchset you are looking for actually.

  • HTTP Server Patch - 4393827 for Oracle EBS 11i

    Hi,
    Our env is Oracle EBS 11i (11.5.10) + CU2 +ATG RUP6. We are currently on 9.2.0.8.0
I am currently applying Minimum Baseline Patches for extended support - +Patch Requirements for Extended Support of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.10 [ID 883202.1]+.
For the HTTP Server Patch - 4393827 do I need to apply patches for all the below components? It prompted me 4 times to apply the patch for each component.
    OHS_1.0.2.2 component
    MODPLSQL component
    Webcache_1.0.2.2
    DB_8.1.7.4
    Rgds,
    Thiru

    Thanks.
    I applied HTTP Server Patch - 4393827 in my upgraded instance 11.5.10 CU2ATG RUP6.
    Now the Apache version is:
Server version: Oracle HTTP Server Powered by Apache/1.3.19 (Win32)
    Server built:   Jun 14 2005 15:26:57 (iAS 1.0.2.2.2 rollup 5)
While applying HTTP Server Patch - 4393827, I was prompted to enter Y or N to apply patch for the following components individually. I had the option to enter N also.
    OHS_1.0.2.2 component
    MODPLSQL component
    Webcache_1.0.2.2 component
    DB_8.1.7.4 component
I entered Y(Yes) for all the components and the patching was successful for all the components.
I am doubtful about the DB_8.1.7.4 component patch. Should I say Y to this also?. Since my Instance is on 9.2.0.8.0 is it required to apply this component (DB_8.1.7.4 component) also?

    hi people,
we have checked for the status of support package in Transaction SPAM traffic signal is still red and in the Phase RUN_SPAU_? it is stuck and even after restarting import it shows clean-up phase is left and it ends with same error mention above
the support package name is SAPKB70014 size is 116266 MB now after restarting the Import the following error message comes
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase RUN_SPAU_?,
which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
    - Error in phase: RUN_SPAU_?
    - Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM
    - Return code: 0255
    - Error message: Could not connect to semaphore server
we run all the phase in background, and even after entering the support package number in transaction SPAU there it is showing
"No objects within selected filter parameteres"
Q.1 Any idea what went wrong and how to fix that?
Q.2 Is there any problem if we run the all four phases of support package in background or it should be run in dialog
    latest tp & R3trans updated?

  • DST Patch 2007 for Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g

    Hi,
I went through several metalink documents for DST 2007 patch application on my Oracle Enterprise Manager Server and got confused in lot of articles. It is a stand-alone server
Can you please help me in formulating a plan?
I have the following versions installed:
    1) Repository db -Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.4.0 - 64bit
    2) Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
    3) OS - AIX 5.3
    Thanks

I just had a similar problem the other day. My repositoy is on 10.1.0.4, which is behind on released. We are very cautious of upgrade OEM.
After doing research on OEM DST issue and reviewing our jobs, we found out that OEM was reporting we were on EST instead of EDT. The fix we applied was to download the "tzupdater" from sun.com. Then we ran "tzupdater" on the OMS home directories ($OMS_HOME/jdk/lib/tzupdater -u). This will update your java DST file for OMS.
Then you should be able to do the OPatch to bring OEM to DST 4.
