PATCH 9.2.0.4 AVAILABLE

All,
Patch 9.2.0.4 is now available for download from metalink.
To download, go to http://metalink.oracle.com.
Click on Patches in the vertical button bar.
Use the simple search function and search for patch ID 3443542.
Download and follow the instructions in the ReadMe.html.
Notice that this version is only certified for Windows and Solaris. You will have to patch both client and server at the same time.
9.2.0.4 patches for Linux, HP-UX, AIX and Tru-64 are expected within the next month.
Thanks,
Mark.

Richard,
You can indeed wait until OWB10g comes about. The reason why it is not there yet, is because the database for Windows is not yet out, and the majority of the users use the Windows product. OWB10g will lag the database release for Windows for about 1 week. The iDS pack will as of then contain the OWB10g product.
Solaris 64 bit will be released at the same time as the Windows release. Other platforms (all platforms that the database supports, apart from Open VMS) will be provided in the weeks following the Windows and Solaris release.
Why you might bother upgrading now is if you have been running 9.2 for a while and ran into bugs that have been addressed by the 9.2.0.4 patch. Notice that the upcoming 10g release is based on the 9.2.0.4 patch, and has no other new feature than 10g source and target support.
An FAQ containing these and more questions will be posted to OTN soon.
Thanks,
Mark.

  • Block Patch KB3002657 from installing/being available via Windows Update via Group Policy

    Hi Everyone,
Been hearing a lot of issues around with KB3002657 causing Authentication issues. We've recently appeared to have similar issues. I'm currently getting out SCCM guru's to run
an inventory on our environment to review if we have had this deployed to our environment, either by Windows Update (manual), SCCM/Wsus etc. If we do we're looking to have this removed and not deployed via our normal mechanisms to stop any production outages.
I would like to see if it is possible to block/hide this update from being visible from Windows Update, possibly by Group Policy.
From memory Microsoft created specifc ADM templates for blocking updated for Internet Explorer version to assist with the same type of issues (i.e. to stop IE from being updated
via Automatic Updates). Would there by anything like this available for this update, or does anyone know of another way (specifc Registry settings or ADM files that could be edited) to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • [Solved] Patch for idle3-tools

Package aur/idle3-tools (0.9.1-1) installs a binary under /sbin and is thus affected by the recent /usr/bin consolidation; indeed, it was one of a handful of packages on my system that I uninstalled so I could do the upgrade.
I have flagged the package and no doubt the maintainer will attend to it in due course, but to try and help out a bit I include below the changes necessary to make the package install in a post-consolidation Arch environment. Cursory searches of the source do not suggest the presence of any (other) hard-coded paths, and the binary appears to be operable from the new location, so it's only a build issue.

As this is the first time I have actually constructed a patch myself and made it available, any (constructive) feedback is welcome; I tried to make as few changes as possible to the original files, so apologies if I missed correcting/adjusting things that should have been changed as well.
I will of course add a comment to the package page in AUR noting this topic.

Good point. I admit I've never looked into such services, but if I'm going to help out with things like this I probably should . I'll do some research, unless there are some particular services you (and/or the ArchLinux community in general) recommend...?
    WonderWoofy wrote:
Otherwise, I would say that since the package has not been updated since it was first uploaded, you should email the maintainer and see if you get a response.  I doubt that you will since it was uploaded and last updated in 2011.  If you don't get a response for two weeks you can then email aur-general and have the package orphaned so that you can adopt it.
    [#1284856]
Fair enough. The maintainer updated another package in AUR seven weeks ago, so there's reason to believe that they'll respond. I'll give them a bit of time to do so (as there's a workaround, per this thread), and will then follow through as you suggest; I'll also post updates here for anyone interested.
The lack of updates is likely due to upstream not having issued a new version since the package was uploaded (and the last commit to upstream is dated 24 January 2012); it's possible the tool is unmaintained upstream, though it does seem to get several hundred downloads each month (per SourceForge's stats) and there aren't lots of complaints plastered all over the discussions/bugs, so who knows?

  • Class IfsMessage not available in iFS 1.1.9

    Hi,
I am using iFS 1.1.9 under NT.
The javadoc api documentation describes a class (oracle.ifs.adk.mail.IfsMessage) not present in the jars deployed with 1.1.9.
I understood that this class will be deprecated in the version 1.2 for NT.
Is there any patch which fixes this bug, available for my current version ? Where can I locate it ?
Under ftp://oracle-ftp.oracle.com/server/patchsets/internet/NT/ifs I could find only a patch for iFS 1.1.6.
    Thank you

The Class Designer is no longer part of JDeveloper. Please check out the Deprecated and Desupported doc here:

  • JSPM in high availability

    Dear Friends,
I have installed PI 7.1 in High availability using Microsoft windows MNS based cluster. It was with initial patch level 04 of Netweaver 710.
I have installed SCS, ASCS, Enque Replication Services etc in cluster mode. I have installed primary application server on Node 2 and Additional Application server on Node 1.
Now I installed SP07 using JSPM from my Primary Application server i.e. Node 1. It went successfully and my support Pack level was upgraded to Sp07. But now when I open Java stack in Node 1, It shows only home page using url - http://10.6.4.178:50000
After that if I open any link e.g. UME or NWA, it does not open and throughs following error :

Java is started properly on both the nodes without any error. While it is working fine on Node 2 i.e. 10.6.4.179.
Please suggest ! Do we need to do so special step for installing patch through JSM in High availability setup?
    Jitendra Tayal

    Hi Jitendra,
While doing a patch upgrade with JSPM in HA scenario, you need to switch off the automatic switchover option because, once the components are deployed, the J2ee gets restarted. If the automatic failover is active, the service gets switched over to the other node.
In this case, shutdown all the instances and stop the cluster.
Restart the systems. Start the cluster in the original servers.
    Restart JSPM.
    It should work fine then.
Let me know if it is helpful.

  • Managing patches with Sun Update Connection

I have just started using updatemanager to download and install my patches and found some issues I would like to discuss.
First, the patch that updates the software to version 1.0.3 (121119-03) was not available on updatemanager itself. I found it on the sunsolve site by accident.
Second, from the 20 patches available for me to install, 19 failed. The ones that needed reboot "succeeded" but upon shutdown they failed one by one. Even though the failure reasons were ok, like there is a newer patch revision already installed, I think updatemanager could handle all this dependency and versioning thing automatically, and suppress these patches from the list of available patches or at least show them with different status.
Third, I am not sure how to use Sun Update Connection on a systematic basis for keeping my system up to date. Should I install all patches available or not? I don't want to lose time reading all patch descriptions to find out which patches are necessary or not. Is there a straightforward way?
Am I missing something or is updatemanager really just falling short of my expectations?
    -- Douglas

To repeat a comment I made in another thread, I agree with datique on this. UM should have a way to say "ignore this patch, I don't want it and never want to see it again". Of course, it needs to keep track of any dependencies there may be later on down the road. The example I gave in the other thread involved the GigaSwift update being needed on my Blade 100 at home.
This isn't meant as a gripe, but a suggestion. I realize that UM is a new tool, and many things like this need to be (are?) hammered out with community feedback.

  • I cannot get an IEEE 1394b camera to work (I've tried the Prosilica patch).

System info: LabVIEW version 8.0, NI-IMAQ for 1394 2.0, Camera = Sony XCD-V50 (IEEE 1394b), Windows XP pro (service pack 2)
Working in Measurement and Automation Explorer, I encountered this:
"Sony 1394 XCD-V50" appears under Devices and Interfaces, but I get this error.
    IMAQ error 0xBFF68001
    "Cannot load the driver"
I've tried to configure the device by right clicking and selecting the driver "NI-IMAQ IEEE 1394 IIDC Digital Camera". I get this error.
    IMAQ error 0xBFF68016
"Insufficient resources available for the required video mode"
I installed the Prosilica "Firewire Fix" utility to re-install service pack 1 firewire drivers to run 1394b at full speed. But the error remains.

    Hello,
It sounds like you may have a third party driver associated with your Sony camera.  If you installed a Sony driver, please uninstall it.  After uninstalling any third party drivers that you may have, please try updating the driver for your camera in the Windows Device Manager.  You can do this by selecting Update Driver... from the right-click menu.  After updating the driver in the Windows Device Manager, try configuring your device in MAX with both NI IMAQ for IEEE 1394 2.0 and NI IMAQdx if you have both drivers available.
The Prosilica patch should only affect the available transfer speeds.  Without the patch, you may select a maximum of 100 Mb/sec.  With the patch, you may select up to 800 Mb/sec for 1394b cameras.  The patch will not affect the problem loading the driver.  You must address the driver problem before the insufficient resources problem.
If you continue to have difficulty using the IMAQ for IEEE 1394 2.0 driver, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the driver.  Remember to unplug your Sony camera before starting this process.  For more information on Acquiring from Firewire Cameras with National Instruments NI-IMAQdx and Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394, please click here.  Please let us know if you continue to have difficulties with this issue.
