Patch available on oracle website

Hi,
Is there any patch of oracle database server for AIX which oracle allow to download without going to metalink web site?
If yes , could you please give me the link...?
If not, then can I assume that oracle allow downloading of patches only to its customer having valid CSI ?

For database and OC4J & WLS app servers, patches are officially only available from Oracle Support.
Most 'free' products, such as JDeveloper, SQLDeveloper, Application Express and Grid Control, are either patched or respun (released) on OTN.
You want a database patch, you need a CSI. You get a database patch without a CSI, the organization that paid for the CSI that did the download is at risk to lose it themselves.

  • Glibc2.1 (RedHat 6) Patch Available from Oracle

    I found a glibc2.1 patch for Oracle 8.0.5.1 on the
    ftp.oracle.com server (/pub/www/otn/linux). It's dated June 2,
    1999. Filename is glibcpatch.tgz.
    Here's a snip from the README that's in the same directory:
    Oracle 8.0.5 certified on GLIBC 2.1 system (e.g., RH 6.0)
    Below are instructions for the patch which certifies Oracle 8.0.5
    on Linux distributions that use glibc 2.1 (e.g. Redhat 6.0). The
    RPMS that will allow rebuilding a package under a glibc 2.0
    environment on a glibc 2.1 distribution are part of a
    compatibility suite included in the Red Hat linux 6.0. They may
    be downloaded as described below.
    The RPMS should work fine on most glibc 2.1 based distributions
    (e.g. Redhat, Caldera, SuSE). Debian users may have to use a
    program called 'alien' that knows how to install RPM packages.
    The same program might be available to Slackware users.
    For existing 805 installations, you may selectively relink
    offending executables from their respective product directories
    instead of applying the patch glibcpatch.tgz. This must be done
    after installing the compatibility RPMS from Redhat. e.g. to
    relink 'svrmgrl', issue the following command in
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib directory to use i386-glibc20-linux-gcc
    instead of gcc:
    % gmake -f ins_rdbms.mk isvrmgrl CC=i386-glibc20-linux-gcc
    LINK=i386-glibc20-linux-gcc
    null

  • Is there any patch available so i can use it in Oracle 9i Standard Edition

    Incremental Backup and Recovery
    Parallel DML
    Parallel Query
    Export/import Transportable Tablespace
    these features are supported by Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition but not in Oracle 9i Standard Edition
    is there any patch available so i can use it in Oracle 9i Standard Edition

    A DVD is essentially a standard definition image (DV)
    So, if you are not adding titles or compositing, simple DV/NTSC (or DV/PAL) will work.
    If you are doing compositing, ProRes LT for standard definition would be the way to go.

  • Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2

    Hi
    I am upgrading oracle 10G to 11GR2 in AIX 5.3 Environment with SAP ECC6 , I have just just installled Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 according to the "Database Upgrade Guide -Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2): UNIX". After database software installation , in upgrade manual in section 3.4.4 it says, you need to install current patch set for oracle database 11g R2 and referencing a SAP note 1431799.
    I have just read note 1431799 which says Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2 is not generally available for SAP customers until December 2010, also I donu2019t find the note 1522330 as mentioned in 1431799.
    Please let me know how I can get current patch set to apply with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 (Is it in SAP service market place?)
    I also want to upgrade my installation to oracle 11.2.0.2, please let me know where I get the patch set to upgrade from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.2,
    or
    I have to live with 11.2.0.1.0 and apply SAP Bundle Patch ( SBP)

    Abu Al MAmun,
    I understand from your posts that you recently upgraded to 11.2.0.2.
    I am having the same difficulty, of finding the current patch set for 11.2. Could you please let me know how you worked around it?
    Thanks,
    Siri
    Hello Everyone,
    I did read the post on to how you have to install the current patch set for 11.2.
    But honestly, it pretty much flew over my head.
    I am trying to upgrade our SAP AIX 64 bit test system from Oracle 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.2.
    And so far I have downloaded all the required sw for the upgrade, except for the current patch set 11.2.
    This is what I have right now:
    1) Oracle 11.2 AIX 64 bit upgrade sw - 51038805_part 1 to 51038805_part 7 and 51039800.
    2) Database Patches -->Oracle 11.2.0.2 -->
    All they have here is
    a. Database RDMBS - SAP_112020_201012_AIX.zip and b. SAP_112020_201101_AIX.zip
    b. OPatch - OPatch_11201_Generic_v3.zip and mopatch-2_1_6.zip
    c. Database Vault - DV - >Generic - p9656644_112020_Generic.zip
    If I am not wrong, the Database RDBMS files are nothing but the SAP Bundle Patches that have to be installed after installing the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2 using MOPatch.
    But I did not find the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2.
    Could someone please explain the process to me in detail? This being my first time , I am finding it a bit hard to catch up with some of the stuff.
    Thank You!
    Siri

    I never applied any oracle patch set before and very new to all this, so your solution will help me a lot in this task.

    Hi Ramesh,
    Firstly, go to "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> OPatch"  then download and install OPatch_10205_Generic_v0.zip
    Secondly, go to "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> Database RDBMS -> Generic (32-bit / 64-bit)" then download and install "Pre-Upgrade Information Utility utlu102i.sql (zipped)" and "p8350262_10204_Generic.zip"
    Thirdly, "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> Database RDBMS -> AIX5L (64-bit)" then download and install "SAP_102048_201106_AIX.zip"
    You can find readme fles in the zip files.
    Best regards,

  • Sapstart fails after installation of CPU-Patch April2009 on Oracle 10.2.0.4

    Hi Experts,
    after installing the CPU-Patch April2009 for Oracle 10.2.0.4, startsap fails with error code 12.
    Starting everything manually works (lsnrctl start, sqlplus and do startup, after that startsap works).
    When the listener and the database are running, things like R3trans -x also work without errors.
    I found a SAP-Note 97953 but I don't know if this is the solution. Some of the oracle-executables in the bin-directory have been modified. So there is a "oracle" and a "oracle0" . The timestamp indicates to me that these files were modified while implementing the CPU-Patch.
    I also checked SAP-Note 583861but with no success.
    regards
    Dirk

    Hi Markus,
    if the database ist down and I execute "R3trans -d" I'll get the following error.
    R3trans -d
    This is R3trans version 6.18 (release 710 - 08.10.07 - 13:37:00).

    For me this all looks o.k. when the database is down R3trans won't be able to reach it and if the database is up it works. But why I can't then just execute "sapstart" ?

  • Download from oracle website..

    hi,
    download from oracle website  is  trail one??
    as i want to download oracle 10g database for self study..
    thnxxxx

    If you mean trial version, then yes, all the commercial Licenses (PE, SE1, SE, EE) you download and install need a license if you start developing applications for commercial purpose. If you only want to try certain features, than you can install said licences for testing purposes on your system. Aside from that you can get the XE (eXpress Edition) which you can use both for testing and production use, if you can cope with its restriction in size (disk 4G, memory 1G) and processing (1 CPU, 1 Server) and its lack of support (patches, etc.) from Oracle Corp.
    Please bear in mind that I'm not associated in any way with Oracle Corp. You may want to check on license restrictions with Oracle Corp. or one its partners to be on the safe side.

    I assume you have Windows on the client. The "Drivers" page of the ODBC_DSA should list all installed drivers. You require:
    name= Oracle ODBC Driver
    version= 8.01.07.00 (or something similar)
    company= Oracle Corporation DO NOT USE the Microsoft one.
    If this does not show, then either it was not included in the Oracle Client installation or you have not rebooted after the Oracle Client installation; the ODBC driver is not visible until rebooted.
