Patch for 9ias 1.0.2.2.2a and 9idb R1 also 8.1.7 R3
Could any one give me patch for 9ias 1.0.2.2.2a and 9idb R1 also 8.1.7 R3, because i don't have login at metalink, please send me at [email protected] thank you very much!!!
The only advice that I can tell you is that you have install the softwares in different Oracle Homes and the rest is to check all pre-requisites and directives in manual installations.

We are in DOD -GOVT US marine corps.. WE are on 10.1.3.3.1 .. There is no CPU Patches for 10.1.3.3.1 nor
for 10.1.2.03-B2B
open issues/questions:
Open Issues:
1. What is Oracle's recommendation about upgrading 10.1.3.5 vs 10.1.3.4 (CPU Patch support length). Also CPU Patch support policy for BAM 10.1.3.3.1 and B2B 10.1.2.3.
2. Any MLRs to apply after upgrading SOA/BPEL/WSM/BAM/B2B 10.1.3.5 ?
3. Interoperability of OWSM 10.1.3.4, BAM 10.1.3.3.1, B2B 10.1.2.3 and SOA/BPEL 10.1.3.5. Can they co-exist or must they(one or more) be in same release level?

Patch for 9iAS and JSTL?
The following message was posted in the OC4J Forum. Our latest thoughts for fixing the problem revolve around hopes of upgrading the OC4J component in 9.0.2.0.1 in Enterprise Edition (Solaris) to 9.0.3. Is this possible?
Thanks

NullPointerException using JSTL
I currently have OAS Enterprise Edition 9.0.2.0.1 on Solaris installed. I have a web application which utilizes Tiles and JSTL. When I run my application through JDeveloper 9.0.3, both Tiles and JSTL tags work. However, when I deploy to Oracle Enterprise Manager and try to run my application, Tiles tags work but JSTL tags do not. Instead, I get the following error:

After doing some research into this issue, I haven't found a solution, but I get the feeling this is a bug that has been patched or will be patched soon. Is there a patch out, and if so, where is it?
------- Follow-on Question about upgrading OC4J in 9.0.2.0.1 ---------
Upon further investigation we found bug 2698206 that seems to be the relevant bug. The bug has been fixed in 9.0.3. It is my understanding that the only certified version of Enterprise Edition is 9.0.2.0.1.
1) Is there a newer version of Enterprise Edition (9.0.3 or 9.0.4)?
2) If not, can we upgrade the OC4J in 9.0.2.0.1 to 9.0.3? (our sysadmins need this somewhat certified, otherwise we can't upgrade our production servers).
3) Any other ideas?
Thanks

Errors on applying PSU patches for GI (Grid Infrastructure) 11.2.0.3
Need help!
This is all in the version of 11.2.0.3. We created a single node GI with ASM by the user grid. Grid home is /grid/product/11.2/grid/ And oracle home created by user oracle at /oracle/product/11g. I have downloaded the GI PSU patch 16742216 for GI and Oracle DB PSU patch 16619892. I just want to apply the patch to GI home, then Oracle home with different PSU. Here is what I did after unzip the patch for GI:
1. Stopped ASM instance and stopped listener (these are owned by grid)
2. Created a ocm response file at grid home by grid user: $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/ocm/bin/emocmrsp -no_banner
3. Use the root to run grid profile to setup grid GI environment
4. Use the root to run as (as described in Oracle instruction): opatch auto /home/grid/patches -ocmrf /grid/product/11.2/grid/OPatch/ocm/bin/ocm.rsp
But got this error. For some reason it looks for Oracle home, not grid home, although I do not have any oracle home environment setup in root user:

First patch for the non-released 9iAS 9.0.4
Today I mentioned the first patch is released for 9ias 9.0.4 (patch 3089193). Strange that Oracle already releases patches for a product that itself has not been released yet. Is it that difficult to implement that patch into the base version? I heard that we may expect 9iAS 9.0.4 around september/october so there should be time enough.
Well -- to respond to the patches...
9.0.2.1 core patchset breaks my Jdev/BC4J application with an error indicating the BC4J tables couldn't be updated
So, I try 9.0.2.2 patch. Can't get past installation instructions (posted message yesterday about this -- no response yet).
javax.naming.CommunicationException: webdev1.softmatic.esoftmatic.com:4031. Root exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: object is not an instance of declaring class
Patches have definitely not helped here.
To be constructive:
1) Looking for 9.0.4 release to allow clustering of OC4J processes even if installed with reports/forms (i.e. allow me to use EM to cluster, even if EM can't cluster the reports servers). It would be nicer to have EM cluster reports services too, but probably need smart way of updating CGICMD.DAT, for example. I could deal with just clustering the OC4J portions, but to prevent me from doing it because I've installed the "business intelligence" is frustrating because I know the capability is there -- I just can't get there because we use the reports too.
2) Looking for text/xml/configuration files on NT to use Windows CRLF (cgicmd.dat, opmn.xml, etc). Annoying, especially since I have to document the installation procedures for disaster recovery and need to include unix to dos type utilities, etc. Getting a real editor isn't my problem, it's the disaster recovery plan where you can't count on people knowing how to deal with it themselves.
3) Looking for way to deploy 9.0.3 JDeveloper BC4J to 9.0.2 safely (docs say you can't)...As a generalization, allow deployment of newer jdev/bc4j libraries with the applications. The "tightness" of BC4J within 9iAS causes issues. Development environments are updated more regularly than production -- hence the ability to fully deploy newer applications to the older app servers is key.
There are probably others... but those topics seem to not come up in the forums.

Oracle 9iAs documentation and patches for aix 5.3
Hi,
I have Oracle 9i application server release 1.0.2.2.2. I work on aix 5.3 and i've installed oracle server release 3. In Oracle 9iAs i need to work with oracle forms 6i and reports 6i.
I need Oracle Oracle 9i application server release 1.0.2.2.2. documentation and patches for aix 5.3
best regardsWhat is Oracle server release 3? Application server 1.0.2.2.2 is desupported now, it worked in the past with server release 9.2. Certification matrix on metalink shows a lot of necessary additional steps (OS patches and software patches) to be done. Metalink is also the place for Oracle software patches, OS patches come from IBM.
OS dumps (but for pre-6i versions) are documented in metalink note

Jinitiator 1.3.1.9, need upgrade for 9iAS server?
Hi, I am trying to setup a 9iAS test server on Windows 2000. The bundled Jinitiator 1.1.8.? Did not work with my test box but did work on the server. I downloaded Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 and it installs and runs on my client box. I have modifed the needed FORMSWEB.CFG & Jinit files and I go get the correctly configured served out page to my client but I get a java exception:
Oracle.ewtinAWT.lwcomponet'''s signer information does not match signer info...
I can find the referenced .class file. However, I didnt know that the server side needed to be modifed to run Jinitiator 1.3.1.9. Is there a patch for the server side or more docs somewhere.
I'm stuck.

I've been reading all of the posts for 9iAS for Win2K.
Is this a general update of the product which will include
a Linux version update? I waded through all of the install
guides and release notes and managed to get the patched AS to run OK on Linux.
But I'd like to avoid that again ;-)
no problem, it was a pleasure. I may be doing it for 'work' soon
so I need to get up to speed ASAP.
And thanks for all replies!

Patch for Apache crashes ?
Hi,
In our production environment we use Portal 3.0.9.8.0 and the 9iAS is on a win nt 4.0 server and the 8.1.7.0.0 rdbms is on another
win nt server (3-tier). Other products on the 9iAS are Discoverer and Web Forms and Reports.
The apache webserver is crashing frequently. First we received a WSADuplicateSocket error.
After searching on metalink we found a workaround that described to exclude mod__ose.conf in the oracle%.conf file. (e.g [#] include mod__ose.conf ). After implementing this workaround, the errors concerning the WSADuplicateSocket disappeared.
But now after browsing a few minutes apache still crashes. Now we receive another error message:
[Fri Sep 07 04:30:30 2001] [error] [client 172.16.2.117] File does not exist: d:/data/opauren/icons/afsright.gif

[Fri Sep 07 20:20:58 2001] [warn] OPM: EW: Process soas1:0 (pid:403) died, restarting.
Apache tries to create a new child process but fails.
My question is: If there is a patch for these apache problems ? Who does apache works after the patch is applied ?
Best regards,
Jerome

Hi,
We are an Oracle Certified Partner and we need to download some patches to be applied for our Dev and Testing environments (latest patches for Oracle 9iAS environment). However, I find that you need to have a Metalink Login to perform the same. Unfortunately, we do not have a metalink ID as far as I am aware of. What is the method to obtain the required patches?
Regards,
UdithaHi Uditha,
To logon to MetaLink you will need your company CSI number. You can obtain your company CSI number by contacting your OPN Primary Admininstrator.
To locate your OPN Primary Administrator log onto the Oracle Partner Network website at www.partner.oracle.com. Log onto the site and once you are on the front page scroll down to the bottom right 'Update Your Profile' portlet. You will see a link to your Primary Administrator.
Should you require further assistance please contact your local OPN Contact. There is a link at the bottom of the OPN web page called 'Contact OPN'. Click on that link and it will ask you what country and then provide you a phone number to call for more assistance. -
AAC/MPEG-4 support patch for abcde
I got bored to day and made up this patch for abcde that adds support for AAC using the M4A extension.
It uses FAAC as the encoder and also patches abcde to version 2.2.3
I have not tested it yet so bear with me...i'll post my test results later.
You'll have to manually add the "M4AENCOPTS=" variable to the config
usage is: abcde -o m4a
UPDATED: fixed a plethora of typos
another side note is the fact FAAC must be compiled with mpeg-4 support, the Archlinux package for FAAC isn't, so therefore this could be a problem unless you compile FAAC yourself. I submitted a feature request to get mp4 support added.
the following is the 2.2.0 to 2.2.3 update+AAC patch. I will submit a AAC patch for the newest release to the developers of abcde later on.
