Patch for HTMLB Handling of Internet Explorer 7

Hi,
My project is using Portal NW04s SP9. When I logon to Portal using Internet Explorer (IE 7), javascript error "_htmlMessageBar is undefined" came out and all the function links such as Help, Personalize, Logout are not function at all.
I read the SAP Note 990763 - HTMLB Handling of Internet Explorer 7, and glad to see that, this issue can be fixed by applying Patch 4 for NW04s SP9.
However, I am not able to get Patch 4 for NW04s SP9 in SAP Service Marketplace! I downloaded and deployed the Patch for PORTAL 7.00 SP09 (Patch Level 10 - which I think is the most relevent patch) to my Portal Server. Bad luck, same problem still exists.
Is there anyone has downloaded and applied the Patch 4 for NW04s SP9 before? Can you please tell me where can i get this patch?

Finally, I found the correct patch file under SAP Support Portal -> Download -> SAP Support Packages -> Entry by Application Group -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 2004S -> Entry by Component -> Enterprise Portal -> PORTAL FRAMEWORK 7.00 -> #OS independent -> Patch for PORTAL FRAMEWORK 7.00 SP09. Click on the info link, you can check out the patch info, and you will find out that, it included the HTMLB Supports IE7 in patch level 4.

I have followed instructions for importing favorites from Internet Explorer, but they do not show up in Bookmarks menu as shown in the support instructions.

I just downloaded Firefox 3.6 and followed the instructions for importing Favorites from Internet Explorer. You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks). 
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

I can't tell from the screenshot, but it's possible you are running in the Metro version. Could you try this page using Internet Explorer in desktop mode to see if that helps?
right click in the browser and click the tools button
In the menu that appears, select "view on the desktop"
Once IE launches in the window, do you see your Flash content?

Best browser to develop for ApEx, Firefox or Internet Explorer

I have a simple question, which is the best web browser for doing Oracle ApEx (Applications Express)? I already know the answer, Firefox, but Firefox is blacklisted by my current employer.
My primary reason for asking such a question is to help me make a case to my company internet security officers to allow Firefox to be installed on the work stations of the ApEx developers. Currently, we are restricted to using Internet Explorer (IE 6.x) only.
The security of Firefox has been sited for not allowing it's installation or use on any computers on our corporate network. There are some who believe that IE 6.x is more secure that Firefox 3.x.
My expertise as a seasoned ApEx developer who has used both and has become a better and more efficient developer since using Firefox along with the Firebug plug-in. Firefox and Firebug allow a JavaScript debugging that is far superior to JavaScript debugging utility that is available for IE 6.x.
Please make any suggestions that may help me to present a compelling argument for allowing Firefox to be allowed on the systems of the ApEx development team members.

Slow response time for radio buttons on Internet Explorer 7

Hi,
We're using ADF 11.1.1.4 on weblogic 10.3.4 on a Solaris 10 (sparc) platform. The architecture also uses OHS and Webcache 11.1.1.4.
One of our applications has a webpage that is composed of several tabs, inside each tab we have some questions with radio buttons. When a client responds all questions on the first tab it moves to the second, where the application loads the necessary questions, based on the answers provided on the first tab. Once the client finishes answering this tab it moves to the third one and so on.
The problem appears once the tabs are loaded. Each time the client clicks one of the radio buttons, Internet Explorer takes between 3 to 5 seconds to return control, and considering that a client might need to click dozens of radio buttons to complete a process, it becomes a very exhausting task. It's worth noting that the session information is persisted for each radio button, when we move between tabs all answers are kept even if we didn't saved the progress.
On the other side, if we use Google Chrome 16, we find that the webpage returns control to the user almost inmediately, when clicking the radio buttons the response time is usually at 1 second or less.
We've checked that the app server is not stressed, heap memory is nowhere near the maximum assigned and the used processor % is very low, so it does not seems to be a resource problem.
Is there any known issue with ADF 11.1.1.4 and IE7/8 that affects the browser's response time? Are there any guidelines or recommendations regarding how to make the radio button component work properly? Has anybody noticed this behavior in adf?

I think that the most accurate description of the problem is that the autosubmit action of the radio button takes considerably longer in IE7 than in Chrome.

Fix for Flash Player in Internet Explorer Issue

I've seen quite a few people with this issue and they all
seem to have issues finding the fix...I never found a 100% solution
on Adobe's site, but I found some directions that finally worked.

Firefox keeps saying can't connect to server for every site but internet explorer can

I was using firefox before and it worked fine. But then yesterday firefox updated itself and since then it wouldn't work. its not the firwall, not a proxey problem, I had uninstalled it and reinstalled it but that didn't work either. Internet explorer still works and so does the wireless for the laptop but just for my desktop firefox doesn't work. Now everytime I open firefox or try any other site it says "can't connect to the server at ..." what do I do.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

However we are running the english interface and had no issues for a while (not sure for how long as the users infrequently use the system)
When navigating to the login screen there are no fields for the user to enter their credentials in internet explorer. Tried IE 8 - IE 11. Played with compatibility mode and safe sites etc... without success.
Firefox works without issues and so does chrome for the login.
Anyone run into this issue in the past couple of weeks?

Flash for Safari .. and Internet Explorer?

I use Safari 3.1.2 but I have IE on my computer and need to run a Flash-based website on it for comparison purposes. It seems that there is no Flash for the Intel-based processors; does anyone know if this is correct?

Flash...swf...fla...will play on either platform. Doesn't matter what platform creates the flash.
Just like Quicktime videos will play on either a widows or mac computer. As long as the computer has quicktime on it. Same with WMV.

I have Windows 7 Starter with Internet Explorer 8 and Adobe Flash Player 10,1,85,3.
I am experiencing problems with one particular web site which uses Flash technology to operate its web site., which is:
gadget-detective.moonfruit.com.
It has been suggested to me that I check I have installed the correct Flash Player for the web browser
I am using which is Internet Explorer 8, that in particular I should check I have not installed in error a Flash Player
for "other browsers". I do not know how to check if the version of Flash Player I have installed is the correct one for
Internet Explorer, but, when I go to the Adobe web site at:

it states that Flash Player is successfully installed.
Here are the problems I have been encountering with accessing the above-mentioned "gadget-detective" web site,

I have win 7 pro and the download for jre 7u10 does not work on Firefox17, I have installed and uninstalled, but works on internet explorer.

I have uninstalled jre7u10, the latest version of java, and re-installed this several times and it will NOT work on Firefox 17. I have checked that the plugins are downloaded in the add-ons tab and made sure they are Enabled. I have tried disabling every plugin I have on the page, but it still will NOT run on FF 17. So, I have uninstalled jre7u10 in windows control panel. I got the jre7u10 download for windows 7 from the actual java website.
I don't know what else to do. I am totally confused as to why it works on Internet explorer but not Firefox 17. It gives me an error message on a chat window on one of my sites that says error client class not found, But I DON'T get this error when I use Internet explorer because the chat window works with it. HELP PLEASE ???????????

I questioned that 64 bit version thing and when I checked the download it sent me to the java version 32 bit for windows 7. The download of jre 32 bit works for my computer on internet explorer but not for firefox 17. I also checked firefox and there is not a 64 bit version browser. so I don't get this at all. anyway, I don't know what a 64 bit vs a 32 bit means but someone asked me to check that too on the site I went to they thought it might be different browser. I've downloaded AFP several times, and I see it installed correctly on my mac, but the same error message keeps coming up. Wow, IE for Mac is pretty old. What Mac OS are you using? I'm 99% sure you're going to need an older version of the Player, but I'll need to know the OS version to figure out which one.

Internet Explorer was available for the first OS X versions, but it was discontinued.
What you can try is to get to the site in Internet Explorer mode. To do it, open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Advanced, and mark "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Then, close your Preferences window, go to Develop menu (on the menu bar) > User Agent, and choose one of all the Internet Explorer options
