  • Missing patch files when applying patch

    Hello
I have been trying to apply the Oracle 8.1.5 patch and I have
followed the instructions given. On running the script
(sh linux815patch.sh)it goes through the motions of installing
the patch for about a second and then stops with a message
"missing patch files". I have dowloaded the patch from two
different locations twice and it still gives the same problem.
Has anyone come across this and how was the problem solved ?
    Many thanks

  • Why maintainence mode when applying patch

    Hi all,
why do we put application under maintainence mode as we already get application services down when applying patch.
    Bala

    Hi,
If I google one particular scenario and provide the link (All the links will be refreenced) then it doesn’t mean that I am providing solution. If you click on the link above, you will find the document in the first 3-5 hits (not just referenced, with also many helpful comments and discussions).
Pointing the right link makes the difference. I just provided the link which I know. Not when the topic was discussed many times in the forum, we are trying to encourage the users to use the search feature in the forum and go through previous threads instead of posting redundant questions.

  • Patch conflict when applying the 10.2.0.5 Patch set on Windows 7.

    Hi everybody.
I have problem when install PSR 10.2.0.5 on Windows 7.
First, Oracle Client 10.2.0.3 installed successfull. I want upgrade from Oracle Client 10.2.0.3 to Oracle Client 10.2.0.5.
I downloaded Database10g PatchSetRelease10.2.0.5 for Microsoft Windows(x32) from E-Delivery Japan Site, then used it installed successfull but new ODBC is not added.
Because of that I used metalink for download 10.2.0.5 Patch 9 and OPatch utility release 10.2.0.5.0.
I extracted OPatch utility release 10.2.0.5.0 zip file directly under the ORACLE_HOME (Old Opatch is been overrided).
Then Opatch aplly command executed for 10.2.0.5 Patch 9 but the error has occurred.

  • Java installation hangs when applying patches

    Hi all,
I recently removed my java application from my computer then tried to reinstall from the add on plug in in firefox. The program would hang at applying patches. After serveral cleanings of the failed attempt, and many hard reboots later (because the entire system would hang and not reboot from the start menu), i found that firefox 2.0.0.4 does not support the latest version.
I then tried the next version down.. same thing happened. So I tried to downlaod it for just IE7, that also yielded the same result. Bottom line... the program keeps hanging at applying patches, doesn't seem to do anything for at least 30 minutes, before I give up and have to hard reboot my computer.
I've tried searching the problem on google, but have found nothing that resembles my problem or fixes it, following removal and installation leads.
    Please help!

In command prompt, i went to the Opatch loc, in my case "D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ODI1\OPatch" and i set ORACLE_HOME=ODI_HOME
    D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ODI1\OPatch>set ORACLE_HOME=D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ODI1\oracledi\agent
    D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ODI1\OPatch>opatch lsinventory -jdk D:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24
*"There are no Interim patches installed in this Oracle Home"*
When i try to apply the pacth from its stored location, facing the below issue
    D:\ODI_Software\14037855\opatch\14037855>opatch apply -jdk D:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24
OPatch failed during prerequisite checks: Prerequisite check "CheckApplicableProduct" failed.
OPatch found incompatible or invalid applicable product type with respect to the Oracle Home.
Could anyone pls advice on this.
    Thanks in advance

I think your ORACLE_HOME env variable should point to D:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ODI1\

  • Font Issue after applying Patch on Forms 6i

    Hi
we applied forms 6i patch 18 for some users the fonts are not appearing properly on the Web.
    Has anybody experienced this before.
    Please help.
    regards.

Please provide details when posting if you expect quick answers.
If you are using Jinitiator and upgraded the version, it is likely that this is causing the problem. This will be especially true if you moved from 1.1.8.x to 1.3.1.x, although still possible with any big jump in versions. If this is the case, the easiest way to prove this theory is to uninstall the current Jinit version and resinstall the previous and retest. If a change in the Jinit does prove to have been the cause, there isn't much you can do, as there was a change in the font handling as you move to newer JRE (Jinit) versions.
You may be able to get some release by setting the mapFonts applet parameter to YES. Refer to MyOracleSupport note 338925.1 for more information.

  • Problems when applying patch 142807-02 on clean DSEE 6.3.1

    Hello,
I just installed DSEE 6.3.1 (patching from 6.0) and I was going to apply the security patch for NSS and SASL (142807-02)
    as mentioned in the releasenotes.
However when i followed the instructions:
    # cd 142807-02/SunOS_i86pc/delivery/
    # ./Install /opt/SUNWdsee
I got alot of errors from the cp command inside the install-script:
    ....(alot more)...
cp: cannot create /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/lib/libplc4.so: No such file or directory
cp: cannot create /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/lib/libjss4.so: No such file or directory
cp: cannot create /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/lib/sasl2/libsasl.so: No such file or directory
    ...(alot more)...
In the end it worked without errors if I manually created the following directories:
    # mkdir /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private
    # mkdir /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/include
    # mkdir /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/include/obsolete
    # mkdir /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/lib
    # mkdir /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/private/lib/sasl2
My server instance seems to start fine after this, but it seems kindof wrong that I need to create
    these directories manually.
Is there any problem doing this? what is causing this?
My OS installation is Solaris 10 x86 64-bit (Update 7).
    Regards,
    Tobbe

  • OUI cannot be launched when applying patch 9.2.0.8 from CD-ROM

Hi, I need help! Could someone tell me what is wrong:
When I am trying to install the patch 9.2.0.8 from CD-ROM, I get the following error
Error: OUI cannot be launched because the current working directory is set on the CD-ROM mount point. Launching OUI from this directory will make it difficult to unmount the disk later in the installation. Please change the working directory and relaunch OUI.
The operating system is solaris 64-bit 5.9
The database is of 9.2.0.1 enterprise edition
I am running the installer from a local directory /tmp with full path to the patch installer.
When I install the patch NOT from CD-ROM or ISO, everything is fine.
    Thanks

Ensure you are not on the CD mountpoint before runing installer.
For instance, cd to oracle's home directory and run it from there.
    $cd
    $pwd
    /home/oracle
    $/cd_mount/install/runInstaller
