Patch Level Info

Hi All,
Currently we are on SPS 14 (Patch #7) for Java and Patch #3 for KMC. How to look for this info from portal? Now we are planning to apply SP stack 16. This will push up the current patch levels. Is there any way we can find the patch level info for SPS16?
Please suggest.
Regards,
Subashini.

Hi Subhasini,
If you are using the EP in Netweaver 2004s or later, The portal version page under System Administration -> Support does not exist anymore.
Solution:
For finding out the version of installed products, launch the default page of the Web AS (http://<host>:<port>) and navigate to the "System Information" page. This page shows a table called "Software Components". For displaying the versions of all installed software and development components, click on the link "all components" in the upper right corner of this table.
With Regards,
Laksh.

  • Incorrect patch level info

following the info provided in this thread to patch to 10.2.0.5:
    patch to 10.2.0.5
I installed 10.2.0.1, which created the repository db:
    SQL> select * from v$version

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.4.0 - Prod

TNS for Linux: Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
The readme instructions (pointed to in the previous thread) for patching to 10.2.0.5 GC says, "7.If your 10.1.0.5.0 database housing the Grid control repository does not have CPU Jan 2008 patch 6826532 applied then make sure that you apply this patch or if you have applied latest CPU Jan 2009 patch 7592360 on your database housing the Grid control repository then you need not apply the old CPU Jan 2008 patch 6826532."
Where did 10.1.0.5 come from? Can I not directly upgrade from 10.2.0.1 GC to 10.2.0.5? Do I need to patch to a intermediate GC to get that 10.1.0.5 repository?

In your case this is not needed becuase you have 10.1.0.4 database
Follow the rest of RN instruction and upgrade the oms to 10205

  • How do I check if I need SAP GUI 7.10 Patch-Level 7?

    Hi,
I have installed SAP GUI 7.10 client.
After restarting the PC, I tried to install the Patch-Level 7 but I got the message:
This SAP Front End Patch cannot be applied. Either this patch is already installed or the components to be patched are not yet installed at all.
My version for the SAPGUI installer is 2008.0.0.187
From Windows, I looked at the version for the installed file saplogon.exe, it is 7100.1.0.1027.
Does anyone know if my SAPGUI would require Patch-Level 7?
    Thanks.

  • How do I see the Kernel patch level in Java ONLY instance?

Could someone please tell me How do I see the Kernel patch level in a Java ONLY instance?
    In Abap, it is simple!
In Java I see in the System Info: Kernel Version:  7.00 PatchLevel 108458.44
BUT that doesn't correspond to the real patch level which I can see when I do disp+work which gave me 111

    Hello Yechezkel,
I am not sure whether the patch number you are looking for is available.
Typically you can use "-v" to display the patch level of SAP kernel programs. When I run "jcontrol -v" or "jlaunch -v", the patch number is blank (at least on the 6.40 release I checked)
The SP level should be able to tell how current the Java instance is updated, especially for NetWeaver 7 systems always patched with JSPM stack.
    Best regards,
    Victor

  • Kernel Patch level in JAVA Engin

    Hello All,
I have planned to upgrade the kernel for JAVA engine (Version 640) and checked for the patch level. It appears as release 640 and i am not able to find the patch of the kernel(tried in system info page and jalunch -v option). Later I came through a thread in this forum which stated there is no patch level for Java Kernel. Is this right? If this is right then how do we upgrade the kernel for Java engine
    Kindly clarify
    Regards,
    Anand

    Hi,
In Java, kernel are identified in SPS not in terms of patch level like in ABAP systems. so whatever will your SP stack level of your portal, the same will be the kernel level of your portal.
So if you want to upgrade your portal kernel alone, you cant. You have to upgrade your whole Portal SPS to take your portal on new kernel and SP stack level. Latest SPS Available in the market place is 24 as of today.

  • How to see list of bugs to be fixed in future patch level?

It occurs often that the client needs to upgrade due to one application error, but after upgrading they discover more application errors in the latest patch.
How to see SAP notes for bugs to be fixed in future patch level for CA or US localization only?
This is the scenario: Client was upgraded to 8.8 SP0 PL11 and they discovered a bug (SAP note 1475645). SAP note 1475645 was released on 04.06.10 when the upgrade was in testing. SAP intends to fix it in a future patch, therefore it is not included yet in any info file. It was not found in testing and unfortunately the client found this bug in the live upgraded database.
It would have been good if before upgrading the live database I could have found this note and advised the client of the workaround.
I tried the notes search but this returns 821 notes.
If I search #8.8 program error# or #8.8 application error# I do not find all relevant notes. The reason is that the writing of the notes is not consistent - Note 1475645 does not contain #8.8#.
If I search using category - program error, search for: SAP intends to provide a patch
and search method: phrase, I get 821 notes.
They are in order of last change date which is good but still, this doesn't work because a clean up is required e.g...Note 1477578 still says "SAP intends to provide patches' even though the patch has been released already (PL12) and I have already reviewed the info file.
It would be very helpful for both support and upgrades if the SAP notes search can be improved:
    - refine search by version i.e....2007 or 8.8
    - refine search by localization i.e...those country specific could be filtered out.
    - refine to date range i.e...last change date
    - clean up text on note when patch fix is released
    - write notes consistently so that same search method can be used
Alternatively, please provide the info file for planned future patches. That way I can check what application errors are not fixed and exist in the patch I am upgrading to.

    Hello Maeve and Archie,
I have gone through your posts in this thread and I would like to give you some insight into what we as SAP are doing to improve in the above mentioned areas.
First of all we are continuously improving the testing on patches that we release to the market, to ensure that we are not introducing any new defects into the product. However as you have mentioned, even through the rigorous testing process that we have at place, the fix in one place might touch the functionality in other place and go to the market unnoticed.
To make sure this does not happen we are continuously monitoring all such cases and following up on them. This iterative process has ensured that there is a minimum of problems that are released to the market.
In addition our policy for patch content makes sure that the cases that were identified in the market are fixed in the first available patch.
For details on our Quality assurance you can view the session "Understanding SAP Quality Assurance" delivered by Jaroslav Brutenic our QA team leader. It can be found in the Development tab of the[ PKOM 2010 page|https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000705765&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000183&_ADDINC=011000358700001192682007E&_OBJECT=011000358700000101242010E].
In regards to the Note search for solutions delivered via patch, the methodology that we use is the following:
    1. product defect is identified and scheduled to a future patch in our internal systems.
    2. note is created that describes the defect and the solution that will be delivered via patch
    3. once the patch containing the fix is delivered onto service market place the note is attached to the "Patch overview Note" with the name of the patch.
Therefore the notes that do not have the overview note attached are the ones that are already identified but not yet delivered in a patch.
Lastly, we are currently working on improving the patch info file to provide a better overview of the defects that were fixed in the current and previous patches. Please let me know in case you are interested in reviewing and providing feedback, I will e-mail you the file.
In case you have any additional questions please let me know.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
Check this link which may help u:
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/igs-upgrade-1455477
The installation/upgrade procedures for the integrated IGS are as follows:
    Integrated Version Installation
The integrated IGS is automatically installed with the SAP Web Application Server.
    Integrated Version Upgrade
You find the upgrade files for the integrated IGS version on the SAP Service Marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/swdc  ®  Download  ®  Support Packages and Patches ®  Entry by ApplicationGroup  ®  SAP Frontend Components ®  SAP IGS  ®  SAP IGS .
There, you find the IGS executables and libraries (igsexe_.sar) as well as the IGS folder structure (igshelper_.sar) containing among others font files.
With the upgrade files of the executables and libraries, proceed exactly like you would with kernel patches (for example, extract the Archive to the same location). More information about kernel patches can be found in the related note 19466 in the section Copying and Installing a Patch.
The upgrade files for the IGS folder structure must be extracted to the instance directory (DIR_INSTANCE). More information can be found in note 1028690.
After a restart of the Web AS the new IGS is up and running.
Information about finding out your IGS patch level is provided in note 931900.
For an upgrade of an integrated IGS please also check note 896400.

As a work around, currently, we bounce these specific servers as and when it get hang, resulting few message loss.
