  • Finding patch numbers

I need to to get to patch level 10.2.0.3 using Oracle 10g R2 on Windows.
I managed to find the the patch number and download 10.2.0.3 through a very round about google search.
    Now I realize I need 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.2 first.
My question is, where can I find the patch number that represents those patches on metalink. I've type "10.2.0.1 patch number for windows" in the search field and other combinations and the results were not helpful.
    Thank you,
    Jim Clare

The answer will depend on which version of Windows you are using. 10.2.0.3 for Vista/2008 is available here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10203vista.html
For other versions of Windows, you will have to start with 10.2.0.1 (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html - scroll down for 10g) and then patch up to 10.2.0.4 (which is the latest 10g version). The 10.2.0.4 patch number will differ for different OSes. To look for patches, go to the "Patches & Updates" link on My Oracle Support, then click on "Quick Links to: Latest Patchsets, Mini Packs and Maintenance Packs", select "Latest Oracle Server/Tools Patchsets", then mouse over on "Oracle Database" and select your OS and then 10.2.0.4 ( you do not need previous releases as 10.2.0.4 is cumulative and includes 10.2.0.3 etc).
    Easy as pie ;-)

  • Selecting patches from a GrooveBox

I need some help from folks who use outboard midi modules with logic. My question is below.
Before I got into DAW software (GarageBand then Logic Express), I used a "groove box". The one I have is a Roland D2. It has like 600 sounds or there about, many of which I really like and would like to use in some of my Logic projects.
I've just learned how to use my Korg "general midi" module from the book "Logic Pro 7 and Logic Express 7" by Martin Sitter. The book is cool and taught me how to use the Environment and a general midi module in Lesson 11 "setting up the Midi Environment" (pg 429-496)
I think I understand most of it but it's pretty new and still sinking in a bit.
So let's say that I wanted to use the Roland D2 I mentioned above.....(not a general midi device)
It's my understanding that I would..
    1. create a "standard" midi instrument in the Environment Window
    2. select a midi chanel to use with that instrument going to the Roland D2. (Let's say that for whatever reason I choose midi channel "3")
    3. Select a patch on the Roland D2 from the "Object Parameter Box in the Arrange window.
Here is where it get's tricky for me.
The Roland D2's many sounds are divided up into 5 banks (A, B, C, D, E each with 128 patches)
Let's say I wanted patch No. 023 in Bank E......
I'm not sure how to set that up in the Object Parameter Box. I seem to only be able to get the first bank of sounds and the patch names correspond to the General Midi patch list.
I don't really need Logic to know the "names" of the patches in the Roland D2, I have that printed in the D2 manual. I just need to be able to call up the right patch in the right bank.
Here is something that might be important....
In the Roland D2 manual in the patch listing page, it seems that each bank has it's own special code number. For intance Bank E that I was refering to above has this number under it in the manual...
    Preset E
    (CC#0 = 84, CC#32 = 0)
    Bank D has this code..
    Preset D
    (CC#0 = 81, CC#32 = 3)
Is this something that Logic would need to know in order to choose the patch I want (Bank E patch 023 Mini Bass)???
Thanks in advance for your help.

    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1.5 gigs ram

Yea......I think I found what you were talking about. I'm able to pull down a set of Patch numbers instead of patch names.
I seem to have found a way to make all this work with the Roland D2. On the D2 I set up a midi chanels 1-7 with the correct patches then I'm able to save that to a user area on the D2. As long as I remember where that's saved in the D2 I'm OK. Its not gracefull but it seems to work OK.
I did try searching for "environments" for my two midi synths (Roland D2 and Korg X5DR) and could not find anything on the internet. Maybe my searching skill are not so hot OR my synths are just not common enough to have "environments" out there already.
    Best,
    Morris

  • Features in Patch 6.4 missing from ZCM Patch MGMT 11.2.1.0

We are migrating from Novell ZENworks Patch Mgmt v. 6.4.2.1592 to the ZCM v. 11.2.1.0 patching service. I've noticed that there are are few features in the Patch mgmt 6.4 that I don't see in ZCM 11.2.1.0 and want to see if I'm just missing them somehow. I've looked throught the zen11_pm_administration manual and could not find any info on the following:
    1) In Patch 6.4 when looking at the vulnerabilities/patches, you could filter by a specific OS in that it would only show patches (for example) for Windows 7 32bit workstations...and those patch results would only display "patched" or "not patched" numbers for that specific OS. In ZCM 11.2 patch mgmt...it appears that it can only filter by Platform: Windows, Vendor: Microsoft. With this filtering it mixes all the XP, Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64 bit, and Windows server patches all together. In the patch name field I can put "Windows 7" but it display 32 and 64 bit as well as patches for servers and includes servers in the numbers for "patched vs not patched". I would like to be able to filter the patches to show for example only patches for Windows 7 64bit workstations and have it reflect the workstations with only Windows 7 64 bit as it does in Patch 6.4. We have ZCM servers in our system but are using a different method to patch them. Basically, I currently have to wade throught the patches for Windows 7 (for example)..select the ones I want..and if that patch also is for Server 2008...I have to make sure that after the deployment creation is completed to remove the servers from the deployment. It would be much easier and efficient to be able to filter out the patches for a specific OS and apply those patches to only that specific OS workstations. Any ideas if this is possible under ZCM 11.2.1.0 patching?
    2) In Patch 6.4 you could configure a policy for snooze and reboot options. Then when completing the deployment wizard...you could select "Use policies" for these options. Is there a place to configure these presets in ZCM 11.2.1.0 or does one have to manually change them every time a deployment is created?
3)Once a deployment is set to a group of test workstations, in Patch 6.4 I could export the list of worksations in the test deployment to send to the helpdesk in case they received any calls. Is there an option to do this in ZCM? There doesnt seem to be one.
Any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

    Michaelstump,
is there a reason you posted in the ZCM *10* patch management forum? At
this time, I agree, some things are better with ZCM patch management,
    some things are not...

  • Oracle 11 g Patch

    Dear All,
We received notification from Oracle team that latest CPU/PSU patch released by Oracle in October and will be deployed production.
Current version for Oracle is 11.2.3.2, after patching the version would be 11.2.3.4.
Could you please help check is there any influence of this patch on our application and disadvantages or do you think any thing bad can be happens after deploy this patch in production.
Looking forward to your quick response.
    Thanks

    No
You could read the related document and Release Notes supplied with patch
I would recommend you apply PSUs instead. PSUs also are released quarterly and include CPUs.

  • How to find versions of application server components to apply patches

    Hi,
I have Oracle Application server 10.1.2.0.2 installed in my linux box.
    under metalink.oracle.com
    1. i read documentation Doc ID: 420061.1 in metalink about patches and i did find one patch# 5922120 for my application middletier.
but when i did a metalink search i did see some patches for my database version which were not critical
so if they are not critical and if my application server is working fine then do i need to apply these patches.
My application server version is 10.1.2.0.2
and my apalication server infrastructure version is 10.1.0.4.2
during my metalink searches i found the following patches which were uner normal priority. they are:
    patch numbers: 5127390, 5094712, 5605377
    Can someone guide me.
Bottom line is: do i need to apply these patches unless they are critical and they are requred for my applications.
Also i have one more basic question is
How do i find out individual component versions in my application server like Portal, discoverer, EM, EM agent, etc?
    Thanks in advance,
    Philip.

    Philip,
    You have a similar environment to ours. We actually have two Oracle environments: 91) 10gDB 10.1.0.5 / 10gAS 9.0.4.3, and (2) 10gDB 10.2.0.3 / 10gAS 10.1.2.0.3.
In regards to what patches, I look at two items: the latest patchset for DB and AS, and the Critical Patch Updates(CPU). Often, the CPU will drive what patchset you will need to be at. For example, with the CPU April 2007, we had to move to patchset 3 for our AS (9.0.4.3) since that is the only 10gAS R1 that Oracle provided CPU patches.
As far as version ID, I have not found one single area to acquire this. For Portal, you can invoke Portal, http://host/pls/portal, logon as 'portal', then Administer, Global Settings, and at the bottom of the page is the version.
For other products like Forms and Discover, you can find the version when the tool is invoked.
Not quite as nice as the DB side where dba_registry will give you all the goodies.
    Regards,
    John

  • Cannot find Oracle 10.2.0.4 client patch download for W2K3 32 bit.

    Hi All,
To fix a Oracle client bug I would like to upgrade the Oracle client software from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4. The bug we are experiencing has been solved in 10.2.0.2. It has to do with Windows memory management. Normal users can only use the client if an administrator has logged on to the system and started the client in another session. Otherwise the client fails.
The Operating system is: Windows 2003 32bit Standard Edition.
The current Oracle client software is the full 10.2.0.1 Oracle client software, not the instant client.
I have spent about three hours and a colleague of mine has searching on Metalink, otn and using google for the 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.3 patch and came up with zero?
Could anyone provide me with a way to download this patch? I have found some patch numbers but when I search the patch numbers on Metalink they all turn out to be dead links. :-(
    Regards,
    Michael.

Once you apply the patch, the OUI automatically detects which specific components to upgrade. One of the differences when you apply the patchset against an RDBMS and a client installation is that the RDBMS requires all the databases to perform a post install phase where the data dictionary must be upgraded as well. On the client installation it is just enough to apply the patchset against the client oracle home.

  • Recommended patches on oracle 10.2.0.4 RAC database and CRS

    Hi,
This week I am planning to upgrade my oracle 10.2.0.2 RAC database oracle 10.2.0.4.
Also, I want to apply if any recommended patches we can apply on 10.2.0.4 database or on CRS 10.2.0.4
I searched in metalink, but in vain i didn't get any exact patches recommended on 10.2.0.4.
If you have any patch numbers that need to be applied on oracle 10.2.0.4 RAC database, please provide me.
    Thanks,

  • EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 27????

    Hi,
just released in the service market place: patch 27 for EP 6.0 SP2. This is getting VERY confusing. See sapnote 774779 for details. The documentation they refer to is not yet available, but I would like to hear from SAP where this sudden re-numbering comes from! Are the portal patches now somehow related to the J2EE patch level?
    Anyone?

    Naming Convention
Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 patches now have an improved naming convention. From this version on, portal patches are to be aligned with those of J2EE 6.20 and of Knowledge Management & Collaboration. It is, therefore, recommend that when upgrading your system to J2EE patch level XY, you also upgrade the portal to Patch XY.
    One-Time Closing of the Gap
For the upcoming release of EP 6.0, the patch is designated as Patch 27, despite the fact that the previous patch was Patch 5. This one-time step aligns the patch numbering of the portal with that of J2EE Engine. Portal will not have patches 6-26.
Alignment with J2EE in Future Releases
The availability of future portal patches will be coordinated with that of J2EE Engine. Patches are expected every 5 weeks.
    Improvement: Accumulation
From now on, portal patches will be cumulative. Each future patch will include all the fixes provided with previous patches, going back to and including portal Patch 5. In other words, the current patch (27) includes the fixes provided with Patch 5, which was released a few weeks ago. Hence: - If your installation is currently up-to-date with Patch 4, you can directly install the latest patch. - If your installation is not yet updated up to Patch 4, you must install Patch 4 first, and then you can continue to the latest patch available. Make sure that you upgrade to Patch 4 according to the instructions in the guide Installing Patch 4 for EP 6.0 SP2 since Patch 4 and its preceding patches are not cumulative.

  • Applying patch to embedded OC4J

    Hi,
On the 18th of October, Oracle released a patch numbered "5608209" for OC4J. One of the bugs it fixes is "5604102", which renders the WebWork framework almost useless on 10.1.3.
Now, my question is, is there an equivalent patch that can be installed on JDeveloper to fix that issue in the embedded OC4J that comes along with JDeveloper 10.1.3?
    Thanks

    Hi Tarek,
I was in the same situation as you are. I asked for help on MetaLink and they replied with a few command prompt lines, which worked. However, I needed to have a generic way of installing any patch to any OC4J installation (JDeveloper embedded, standalone or OracleAS), so I wrote a batch script to do the work.
I've changed it slightly since the patch you mentioned has slightly different contents to the ones I've had previously.
Save the text below as orapatch.bat, then run it from the command prompt (where you saved the batch file) with the command: orapatch <patch path> <oc4j path> <backup dir>
Where <patch path> is the absolute or relative path to the unzipped patch folder (something like C:\Patches\5608209),
<oc4j path> is the absolute or relative path to the OC4J installation (e.g. "C:\Program Files\JDeveloper")
and <backup dir> is the name of the directory you want to store the backup files (e.g. "JDeveloper Backup")

    Hi all,
I have to upgrade from Siebel 7.8.2.12 to 7.8.2.16.
When I tried to install Siebel Enterprise Server in our siebel server, it raised an error message looking like "Unable to install Siebel Enterprise Server: Patch is associated with a product that is not installed on target machine". I find that the pacht version is not right, that i am trying to patch a SEA version with a SIA version, but i can´t find the correct patch in support.
I would appreciate if you have any insight to this problem.
