Patch Plumtree Foundation 6.0 SP1 to SP2
Hi,
we would at like to patch our installation of 6.0 SP1 to SP2 which is available since April 2008 (we cannot upgrade to 6.5 or even 10gR3 yet).
I think I have downloaded everything related to Foundation 6.0 and searched all possible plumtree, bea and oracle sites now but I didn't find any instructions how to apply the service pack.
The only document which was updated in 2008 are the Release Notes (http://one.bea.com/portal/server.pt?open=18&objID=2795854&mode=2&in_hi_userid=2&cached=true). The installation plan which was part of the 460MB download has a section for SP1 installation only and that's it.
So are we supposed to install the whole thing AGAIN to get SP2? Did anybody ever patch 6.0 SP1 to SP2?
Hi guys,
AFAIK, BEA doesn't release standalone maintenance pack for 6.x basically. In other words, the only way to upgrade is to use the 6.0 SP2 or 6.1 MP2 installer on top of previous version.
The only patch I know is for 6.1 MP1, there is a patch. So after applying, it should be 6.1.1.1.
I've done a the following upgrade so far, using the new installer and they work:
6.1 -> 6.1 MP1 -> 6.1.1.1 -> 6.1 MP2
6.5 -> 6.5 MP1
I haven't done the 6.0sp1 to 6.0sp2 but I guess it is the same thing. Do remember to run the installer on to upgrade all related components, check your deployment architecture.
Hope this helps.

Team Portal -
I just upgraded my application from Sp1 to Sp2 (basically right click on application
and select Install -> Update Portal Libraries).
Do I need to do anything to the domain, or just rebuild and redeploy the ear file?
Thanks
Regards,
NeerajI didn't do anything to the domain, but I did "install portal" and "install
weblibs" too.
I first did only the update too I think, work perfectly till I made a simple
jsr-168 portlet with the wlw wizard that didn't work.
Thank you for any and all help,

If you're starting the server from the command line, this is normal behavior. All these messages will output to the console and logs. If you start this from the GUI interface, the output will go to the logs. -
Exchange Server 2007 sp1 to sp2 upgrade error
Hello,
I am trying to upgrade exchange server 2007 to exchange server 2010 but my exchange server 2007 is running sp1 which cannot be directly upgraded to exchange 2010. To do this I need to first upgrade my exchange server 2007 sp1 to sp2, i am stuck because I
keep getting the error below:
Error:
The well-known object entry with GUID 6c01d2a7-f083-4503-8132-789eeb127b84 on the otherWellKnownObjects attribute on the container object CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=mw refers to a non-USG CN=Exchange Servers,OU=Microsoft
Exchange Security Groups,DC=domain,DC=mw. Please either delete the well-known object entry or promote the target object to a universal security group.
Does anyone know how to resolve this error?? please assistMy recommendation to you is to upgrade it to Exchange 2007 SP3 with latest Rollup Updates.
Note: Before you start installing the SP3 make sure you upgrade the AD Schema for Exchange 2007 SP3.
For the error you are getting

Does anyone know of a way to check and see if my version of XP Professional is SP1 or SP2? I've had it for a while and had it loaded on an evil Windows based machine...since then that machine has passed away. I previously had it running through parallels and ran great. Had the random shut down issue and uninstalled it to be safe. Considering boot camp. Suggestions? Help? Anti-Windows? Input would be awesome. Thanks
It should be printed on the disk itself whether it has SP1 or SP2. If it is SP1, you can create an SP2 disk through a process called slipstreaming, but you do need a PC in order to do it.
-
A simple question. If I install the SP2, is neccesary the SP1, or SP2 cover SP1?.
Thank you very much.
JuanMaxJuanMax,
SP2 should include SP1 as well. You should be able to install SP2 without installing SP1.
Cheers! -
MSExchangeSA and IS is not starting automatic at reboot after upgrading the server from SP1 to SP2
I am running a 2 node DAG with separate Hub & CAS servers
I have already upgraded the Hub CAS server and they are fine
Exchange running on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
All are in VM-Ware ESXi 5.0
After I upgrade the mailbox server to SP2 the SA and IS service not starting automatic after reboot
If I run "net time /set" command and then restart ADtopology server, the IS and SA starts fine
But again after reboot they do not start
Also I get the below event in the app log when the IS & SA fails to start
Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchangeIS
Date: 05/22/2012 5:15:03 AM
Event ID: 5003
Task Category: General
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: server.domain.com
Description:
Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either on the client or on the server, and may require a restart of that computer. Verify that your domain is correctly
configured and is currently online.
If I check the Registry for time resource it is taking from the DC
I manually compared the time between DC and Exchange and it is fine
Since the Exchange mailbox is virtual, I checked the time sync on VM-Ware tools and it is "unchecked"
Checked for group policy and do not find any specific to time sync.
Confirmed that Windows Time service is running
Suspecting a Operating system issue, tried to upgrade the other DAG
Even that node is displaying the same symptom and Issues
Tried to install RU1 on both nodes and that too did not fix the issue.
Checked with VM-Ware engineer and he said that every thing from VM-Ware end is fine
Is Anyone have come across the issue before ?Exchange 2010: Unable to initialize the Information Store
Problem:
Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either in the client or the server, and may require a reboot of that computer. Verify that
your domain is properly configured and is currently online.
Solution:
Open a cmd prompt from the Exchange Server as administrator (right mouse click on the command prompt shortcut and select “Run as Administrator”)
Run this command
Net time \\ADServerName /Set
Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service
*Important!! You have to restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service or this fix will not work.. I tried just starting the Information Store service after running the command it it still failed..
This worked for me and all is well on my exchange server.

How can I solve the error?
Thanks a lot in advance.Hi Ramon,
There is some problem with the RealTimeCollaboration, which should not harm the system integrity at all, so that from that point of view there should be no problem going on with the migration.
Anyhow, you can still try to fix this on SP2 P41 level, maybe the hint given in /message/3603152#3603152 [original link is broken] also works for you.
Hope it helps
Detlev

Problem with upgrading WL6.0 sp1 to sp2
I just recently downloaded the weblogic service pack upgrade off of the bea site.Followed all the instructions and ran the install program. When done, the program, says the installation is complete.Unfortunately, when I run the server console and check on the version it still says sp1. I am wondering, did the service pack install correctly or didn't it? If it did, why does it say SP1 still and should I worry about it with later upgrades? Thanks,
Hi,
to be honest I'm realy not surpriced by the answer, that you got from Microsoft.
The part with the Symantec is something, that is realy irrelevant from my point of view in this situation.
However, if you can logon to the system, I can recommend to start TVSU <ThinkVantage System update> that will search for all the updates, that are relevat to your system.
Please install all updates, that will be listed. Basically those updates, that you will see will be all, that are needed for your system.
My second thought was more in the direction to make a restore to a previous state, so that it will convert back the system back to the pre installation stage.
If I were you, I would test this restore part before doing the TVSU part.
So in this case would be my suggestion following:
- restore the system back to a pre-SP2 installation stage
- after reboot check ,whether the error is gone
IF yes => do the TVSU part and if you want to , then do the update to SP2
IF no => anyway do the TVSU part only to verify, whether that will kind of help the situation
Maybe a question out of topic, but have you made some RnR backups before the SP2 installation?
If yes, that that might be good, becasue from my past experiences with failed SP installation, I can tell, that only a OS reinstall realy fixed all the incomming issues, OR a restore to a previous date<from a backup, or using Windows own restore option>
Please let me know, whe you have any comments to this situation.
I fully understand, that it does not sound realy enthusiastic.
Rgrds -
About a week ago my Vista PC could no longer send print to my networked 2575 - "error - printing", whilst another Vista PC on the network remained able to print. I am configured for auto updates from M/soft. After trying the gamut of printer problem advice (very educational), I went back to basics, and compared the PCs - Service Pack 2 on the PC that could print, and Service Pack 1 on mine. Upgraded to SP2 and bingo! It works. I suppose that M/s will soon have another update for SP1 users that will allow printing again, as I used to get an average of 1 a day.
Hi:
I am having the same problem with mom's new HP p6267c computer w Win7 and a relatively new HP Photosmart C5550 printer. All other printing sources seem OK. Excel fails. Same message as reported here. Any responses/ideas? Worked fine on her old XP machine. -
CR runtime SP1 and SP2 on WS 2003 and IIS 6 report is blank in reportviewer
Hi All,
Could you please help me, No image problem in following scenarios,
Using asp.net 3.5
WS 2003, IIS6, CR runtime 2008 with SP1 = > No images
WS 2003, IIS6, CRruntime 2008 with SP2 => No images
WS 2003, IIS6, CRruntime 2008(No SP) => Works allright.
Of-course I can downgrade but is there any workaround, to combination with SP2 or SP1.
Thank you.

Edited by: SSharma on Nov 2, 2009 3:31 PMWell, I'll go along with something wrong. If you can give me precise steps in how to duplicate the issue. I would like you to also try one of our web samples from here;
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsfor.NETSDK+Samples
I recommend vbnet_web_simplepreview and see if you can duplicate the issue with the sample app.
Remember that more than likely, you are not the only one running SP 1 and / or SP 2 and I do not see other reports of the issue you describe in these forums...
