Hi All,
Just wanted to know, does Microsoft releases a list of updates (with KB name & details) after every patch Tuesday. Do we have a link where we can go & check which are the updates released.

After March Patch Tuesday: Unresolvable Windows 7 Validation errors

I saved legitcheck.hta and then ran it, it loaded an Internet Explorer “DownloadValidationSupport” web page which offered two steps, Download then Continue.
The Download link was for WindowsActivationUpdate.exe
I did download WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and run it, but every single time (there were many), after running it, every time if I selected Continue, I always received the messsage:
Please wait for the install to complete and then click Continue or view the Troubleshooting tips
At any time (before, during, after) the above processes, if I went to Control Panel - System, at Windows Activation Windows Activation it always stated:

For "fun" I ran
cscript slmgr.vbs –rilc
but the licensing rebuild made no difference in the Windows 7 validation error
I would like to get the system to actually run a validation check and if necessary require the MAK key. What is the process to eliminate this bogus "software counterfeiting" state?

I noticed that the path was missing for some Start menu items, the icons were not correct. The system environment variables TMP, TEMP, and windir had been deleted. The Windows Activation errors probably started shrotly after the system environment variable
were deleted.
After I restored the environment variables to their standard values, I ran WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, it went through the downloading update package, then installing update steps successfully.
With the standard environment parameters reestablished the MGADiag Copy function worked. I noticed then that it included a lot more information than what is displayed in the one popup window, similar in length to some of the other postings here with output
from MGADiag
In the course of troubleshooting the Activation error before posting here, I had issued the slmgr /rearm command to see if its action in resetting the activation timers would allow me to re-enter the MAK.
When WindowsActivationUpdate completed, then when I went to the Control Panel item for System. I was able to go through the validation process. Now the install is validated again.
Since the March Patch Tuesday set consisted of 12 updates I can't point the finger at any one for being the root of this problem.

Unknown Error (-53) after last "Patch Tuesday"

I'm unable to sync my iPod Touch since the day after last "Patch Tuesday". I get an alert referencing an "unknown error (-53)" every time I try to sync. I've tried the usual windows steps; uninstall and reinstall, reboot multiple times, disable all anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, curse, pray, etc. I've done a search here and Googled but haven't seen any discussions.
Is anybody else having this problem or is it just another windows anomaly requiring a format and clean install?

WSUS web services crashes every Patch Tuesday

My WSUS server is completely managed by SCCM 2012 R2. For some reason, every 2nd Tuesday of the month, WSUS will crash with error codes 12002, 12012, 12022, 12032, 12042, 12052, and 12072 five to six times over the night exactly one hour apart
(I have a powershell script that fires on one of the event codes that sends me an email and does an IISReset). Last night, it crashed at 10:12, 11:12, 12:12, 1:12, 2:12, and 3:12.. then it stopped crashing.
IISReset usually gets it up and running again, but this is happening every month always on Patch Tuesday. I have no idea where to look to see what it's trying to do at 10:12 PM or what SCCM is telling it to do. Has anyone run into an issue like
this?

One solution I saw specifically list "The solution was to give *WRITE*
access to Network Service on the folder

Software Update no longer runs or lists installed updates :-(

On a 20" and a 24" iMac (both in different locations and with Leopard installed from different discs) Software Update has not run (set to check daily and download updates in the background) since February.
Also on both Macs SU does not list installed updates.
On the 20" iMac I also got an error about no such files or directories when trying to download the new Airport patch. But Airport Utility was able to download and apply it just fine.
SU is very badly broken and as is usual the AppleCare techs have no idea how buggy Leopard is in the real world.

Reset Ignored Updates is on the Software Update menu i.e. just right of the  Apple Menu.
Again if you don't have any joy then I suggest using Pacifist and your OS X install disc to re-install just Software Update.
As SU seems to be having issues then replacing it should be the easy answer.

When will patches be listed on the web ?

Hello,
I have two re-registered servers, 'smpatch analyze' shows numerous patches, but on the web the column 'Available updates' list 0 patches. That is nearly 24 hours ago.
Also one server has a orange triangle with a call sign (column 'Last checked-In').
I installed one patch with the updatemanager GUI, but the situation keeps the same.
How long will it take until the patches are listed?
Which logfile would be appropriate?

Dynamic List to Update Field in Record

I have created an Update page in CS5.5 and have added a dynamic list to update a field in the record. Now I am stuck. How do I modify the code in the menu to have it update the field?

Update another list when list is updated

What do you recommend to update another list when the current list is updated.
I have a workflow which updates a Reports list. I also have a favorites list which has 4-5 columns which are in the reports list and I would like to update those values when the reports list is updated. I use a workflow to update the reports list.

You could use your existing workflow to update the favourites list (after it has updated the reports list).
Another way, would be creating an event receiver that updates the favourites list whenever an item in the reports list is added, modified or deleted.
It depends on the functionality you need to achieve. If you are just incrementing the value of the columns for a single item in the favourites list (when a report is updated), then using the existing workflow would probably work best.

Patch 140476-01 breaks update manager for Solaris 9.

I just noticed that deferred patches werent being applied on my solaris 9 machines.
It turns out that patch 140476-01 which updates the certificates also manages to delete the file /etc/init.d/installupdates.
Since that shutdown script is the thing that applies the deferred patches, not surprisingly they're no longer being installed.
That file is no longer needed on solaris 10 since it got converted to a service, but its still needed on solaris 9...
It seems lately that the update connection software gets broken with monotonous regularity.
The solaris 10 version is finally working properly again after many months. But now the solaris 9 version is broken.

While most of my systems are Solaris 10, I still have one rarely used S9 system that has 140476-01 that deleted /etc/init.d/installupdates. Is there any update on when we can expect 140476-02 (presumably ....) that will fix this issue?

p.s. From my perspective, updatemanager has been working very nicely on S10_x86 for several months .... I have not experienced any of the "hanging" during the installation of multiple patches that were problematic for some time. Thank you and your updatemanager colleagues for your diligence in improving this important tool.

Should a list of updated apps remain on the Updates page?

Before ios 7, as soon as an app would update, the icon and any mention of the update would disappear from the Updates page. Now there is a list there of all the apps that have updated since I installed ios 7. The list is organized by date with headings that say "Updated" followed by the date they were updated. This situation is also true for my iPad Mini. The list of updated apps remains on the Updates page.
Very strange is that the list does NOT appear on the Updates page on my iPad 2. Once the updates are installed on my iPad 2, the icons disappear from the Updates page.

Yes, it is normal.
Check the settings of your iPad 2 and see if you have Updates set to automatic.

Send one mail for multiple list item update

i have 3 lists storing customer details which are displayed in a page. i need to send mail whenever there is customer details update(any or all 3 lists). should send only one mail per customer details update(not per list item update).Please advise how to
achieve this using SharePoint workflow.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to send an email when this are list items update.
A workaround is that we can use one big list to store the customer details from these three lists, then let users update their information in the big list and send email.
Or we can create a form to update these 3 lists, then send a mail when the form saved.

When apps in AAM list are listed as updated, but not installed.

When viewing the apps list in AAM the programs PS, AI & ID are listed as updated, but I do not have thr CS6 versions installed. Can you inform me on how to get the current versions installed?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and let AAM install the programs.

SDK 3.4 - Tree and List rollover update flicker

I have a rollover issue with items in a tree or list. When the item is rolled over in a tree or list, an update to that item is made from our server. It seems that the update causes the rollover indication to disappear. It's like the item is being redrawn. Is there a way to disable the item invalidation? Is this a bug with my sdk?
I also have a button on the item renderer that disappears too. It is added and removed in commit properties, since it extends TreeItemRenderer and it's displayed over the icon. Since the icon is added and removed in commitProperties, the button has to be added and removed in commitProperties to keep it's child index above the icon.

Here is some code. Notice when you rollover, the highlight goes away.

We have a very big issue here, Patch Tuesday didn't work correctly yesterday, and the patches took all the free drive space away.

Before we started with the Patches, we had one Gig of free space on our hard drive, now we are down to less than 10 Megs!!!
What happened is that the patches didn't work, we had to try them 7 times, and every time they created a 'temporary restore point' which we don't know where that point is.
The server has crashed twice since, we were able to place it back online but we're afraid it will crash again.
We have several customers on that server, we are very worried,

External lists for updating marketing attributes

I'm now working in CRM 3.1, but we're going to upgrade for 5.0 in the autumn. In this relation I'm working on a pre-project where I'm looking for the possibilities for using external lists for updating marketing attributes on existing BPs. How can I map this fields? Do I use advanced mapping fields or structure enhancement using appended fields?

Yes, this function become standard for CRM 5.0. CRM5.0 ELM provide different format types for create BPs (with marketing attributes), activities and leads. You need to define different format type when you create mapping format. For updating marketing attributes, you need to choose type "Business Partner" type so that all the marketing attributes will be available for you to pick to create the mapping format.
