Patches 9706490 conplicts  9413827 / Upgrade 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3

Hi
My 2-Nodes RAC-System on Linux RH 5.7/X86 hat die Version 11.2.0.1
I tried to upgrade it to 11.2.0.3
Following the recommendation in "Pre-requsite for 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 ASM Rolling Upgrade [ID 1274629.1]"
Moderator edit - MOS Doc content removed - pl do NOT post contents of MOS Docs - this is in violation of your Support contract*
I executed :
Step 1: I patched the system with patch 9706490
Step 2: I patched the system with patch 9413827
I got the error:
Conflicts/Supersets for each patch are:
Patch : 9413827
        Bug Conflict with 9706490
        Conflicting bugs are:
        9655006,  9778840,  9343627,  9783609,  9262748,  9262722
Following patches have conflicts: [   9706490   9413827 ]
Refer to My Oracle Support Note 1299688.1 for instructions on resolving patch conflicts.
Trying to read Note 1299688.1 I cannot get an understandable answer!
Can anyone give me a precise one?
Thank in advance and regards

If you have 9706490 applied then it has both GI PSU 9655006 and 9413827. Verify that you have 9706490 applied before upgrading.
Also in note 1274629.1, did you follow:
Modify crsconfig_lib.pm
After patch is applied, modify $11.2.0.2_GI_HOME/crs/install/crsconfig_lib.pm:
Before the change:
# grep for bugs 9655006 or 9413827
After the change:
# grep for bugs 9655006 or 9413827 or 9706490
This would prevent rootupgrade.sh from failing when it validates the pre-requsite patches.

Vishal

    Patching Pre-upgrade Clusterware Home
If rootupgrade.sh has been executed and a patch needs to be applied to pre-upgrade clusterware home (for example, apply 9706490 to 11.2.0.1 home), "rootcrs.pl -unlock" may not unlock pre-upgrade clusterware home, rather it unlocks NEW_HOME if olr.loc has been updated to point to new GI home. The workaround is to manually update olr.loc to point back to pre-upgrade GI home, execute "rootcrs.pl -unlock", apply the patch with "opatch napply" and execute "rootcrs.pl -patch" to lock it again. Replace rootcrs.pl with roothas.pl in Oracle Restart environment.

I am running XP SP2 fully patched. I recently upgraded to 3.6.3 and since then, clicking on an icon that normally would open another windows (for example, a printer-friendly version of the current web page), nothing happens. In these situations, I have been forced to go to IE or Crome in order to accomplish what I need to do. Very frustrating. Also clicking in the slider area has no effect. "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys work. Holding down left mouse button on slider works. Also very frustrating. Can someone help

  • Applying individual patches to a Live Upgrade Environment

    Hi all
Is it possible to apply individual patches to a Live Upgrade Environment? More specifically, is it possible to apply a kernel patch to the LUE?
I was thinking that the command would look like this:
    patchadd -R /alt_env_root /location/144500-19
In the README I don't find anything for patching a LUE and only mention of installing it in single user mode or when the system is close to totally idle.
    Dean

yes u can apply the individul patches anad kernel patches in the lu enviornment
for that first u need to create ABE
    luupgrade -n mytestBE -t -s /patchesfolder 166981-17

  • Patching Web AS Java, upgrading SDM results in version conflict

    Hi,
We are currently patching Web AS Java for our XI 3.0 system which is based on Netweaver 2004 system. Since patching Java with this Netweaver version is implemented through SDM only, unlike for Netweaver 2004s which uses JSPM, we are having problems while upgrading SDM which is a requirement for patching web AS Java. Please see the error below:
SpecVersion of new SDM is older than installed SDM:(location of SDM)
SDM terminated with errors: Exit code: 4
What is the best thing do with this? Shall we continue upgrading using our SDM version? Or shall we have to find another SDM version. Also, how can we determine the patch level of SDM?
    Thanks and God Bless!

  • R12.1.1 Upgrade - patch 6678700 - American English upgrade patch driver

    Hi All,
I am doing an upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.1. I am executing the patch 6678700. I have given 25 workers to execute this patch. The patch is running for almost 1 hour and now I find only 1 worker is running and all the other workers are waiting.
I do not find any error, the files are getting allocated only to Worker 1 and getting completed and another file is loaded again on Worker 1 and so on.
The remaining 24 workers are waiting. The adctrl output is follows

Is this behavior normal during this patch ? Only 1st worker is used so only 1 file is processed at a time. All the other workers are waiting.
    Regards
    Sridhar M

    Hi Hussein,
    Thanks for the response.
I do not find any error the database log or the worker 1 log. I had the doubt because instead of using all 25 processes, the adpatch is using only 1 worker to execute this patch and I have almost 117273 remaining and the count is getting reduced 1 by 1 because of 1 worker.
Is there any way that we can make other workers which are waiting ?

    Hi,
    i installed 10.2.0.1 64bit on a dell Poweredge 2900 Windows server 2003, 64bit. it went ok.
then i attempted to upgrade to 10.2.0.3 using patch 5337014.
i got the following error :
The image file D:\installers\p5337014_10203_WINNT64\Disk1\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine.
reading the patch note it seems this patch is for itanium. Our server is not itanium.
Can you please direct me to the correct patch number? i searched metalink over and over but don't find it. it's quite urgent.
    cheers,
    Andreas

Choose as platform Windows Server 2003 (AMD64/EM64T), that's the correct patch.

I'm using Live Upgrade to upgrade a Solaris 9 system to Solaris 10. I installed the
LU packages from Solaris 10 11/06 plus the latest Live Upgrade patches. Everything

  • Which will benefit more: Upgrade 16 patches in 46C or upgrade to ECC6?

    Hi All,
My company supports a client who has got a SAY system with 4.6C version. The current level of patch is 16 levels less that what SAP prescribes. We need to take a decision on whether we would upgrade the current version with those 16 patches and still remain in 4.6C OR we should upgrade the system to ECC6.0?
The comparison has to be based on the following parameters:
    1) Cost involved
    2) Time taken
    3) SAP Support
Any help at the earliest in this regard would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    PP

This is a question not too easy to answer:
1.- Cost involved: this depends if you have the hardware for Upgrade or not, if don´t have enough hardware then move on lattest support packages will not cost so much as Upgrade. How standard is the system and complexity of the business processes also makes a difference here
2.- Time Taken: Is the instalation using lots of customer developments? if not, time taken in both scenarios won´t be that much.
3.- SAP Support: Here you have one of the main points to upgrade but not the only one, to be able to get support on 4.6C will be higher than using newer versions.
Now, to be able to upgrade to ECC 6.0 from 4.6C you will need a certain SP level already so the most probable scenario before an upgrade is to move up the SP and kernel Level and then do the upgrade.
Of course you could include the 4.6C SP instalations as part of the upgrade project so developers and functional people will just fix one time the developments and configurations.
    Hope this helps

    Regards
    Kannan K

    Kannan,
the error in your logs like "NoClassDefFoundError" etc. point us towards issues with jar files. either they are missing or not the correct ones.
A general practice in such situation is to
stop all servers except CMS,IFRS,OFRS > repair the base installation
    OR
If you have a working environment with the exact same patch, copy the 'lib' folder from "/bobje/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/java/" to the non-working server.
PS: please attach the logs to the thread instead of pasting the content.
